SW: The Old Republic - Episode VIII (May RNG Be With You)
Manveru123 replied to Blarghagh's topic in Computer and Console
Maybe you're right. I liked my Light Side Sith characters tho, their LS stories felt better than actual Jedi. While "evil Jedi" is just a mindless brute, a typical "Chaotic Evil" madman, not fun at all. -

Ah yes. More of that "Republic = good boiz, Empire = evil twerps" crap. Stereoptypes -
Pathfinder Kingmaker is bigger then Deadfire
Manveru123 replied to no1fanboy's topic in Computer and Console
Yeah I don't think this is due to the patch. Some time ago they somehow improved the game in a way that for most of Act 1, everything feels really fast and smooth. But after you progres further, it gets worse -
Hey let's chill out here. I get that you have a stressful/frustrating problem. But we are all just people who play the game here. Developers can't fix bugs on a whim. Due to the relative rarity of the bug (very few of us here are experiencing the same issue), it'll be harder to track down. Even if they could track it down, it takes time to program the fix, to test it, and then to have it roll out in a patch to Steam/GoG (and even then it will need to be beta-ed first for a week or so). And even if they could quickly do all that, they have release schedules, so it might still have to wait a couple weeks to make it into the next release. They would have to focus on fixing bugs first, not treat them as a secondary problem. Really, comparing a PC cRPG to a jRPG game is kinda silly. They should be in two different categories. Then again, Deadfire would not have any competition in its own category (other than maybe Kingmaker) because almost nobody makes these kind of games anymore. Monster Hunter World is definetly in a wrong category. Perhaps the action-adventure category has stronger competition, so they want MHW to win somewhere else, to boost the sales?

A Special Announcement From Obsidian

You got balanced Congrats, you earned it -
Probably an underwhelming one.

Yeah but you'll probably have to restart to enable it, if you're on Auto :/ -
Ok I can admit that the Lich was kiiiind of a noob slayer. Especially if you found him too early. But Firkraag, or even Shadow Dragon, those were really good fights.
-
That's just a lie. Unless you were a heavy metagamer with prior knowledge, there were many fights in BG2 that required you to strategize a lot to win. For a player new to the game, encounters with bosses like Firkraag or the Dock District Lich were epic. Combat was one of the strong points of this game. EDIT: unless somehow you were playing six Fighters.

That's funny because I enjoy the gameplay in literally every other game of this type. A good cRPG has both good story and gameplay mechanics. Worst case scenario, the gameplay is "okay". But in Numenera case it was simply horrible. Not to mention that "good story" is subjective. I've found Numenera to be a snorefest, and I only managed to finish the game because I felt it would be a waste of money if I didn't.

I'm not familiar with this spell but it looks more like CC than a damaging one. -
Numenera had terrible combat and terrible character development (as in, builds). If I wanted to read a book, I would go read a book, not struggle with the worst gameplay I've ever seen in a cRPG game.
-
Numenera received decent reviews from the press, but the user reviews were average at best. The new Bard's Tale was even worse.

You can also mod the level cap up! This is cool because it lets multiclass characters get max power level Mods can actually solve a lot of issues (difficulty too), but instead of using them, people prefer to demand changes from Obsidian. Apparently the thought of modifying the game to suit their needs, without affecting other people, disgusts them somehow. And Obs simply caves in if you scream loud enough. To be fair fixing inherent problems in a game shouldn't be our responsibility. I can understand differing viewpoints on what balanced. Still if the majority of feedback about your game is that it's too easy, then it really doesn't matter if there's mods to make it harder. That's like saying Skyrim should be rated Ao because there's mods to allow for full penetrative sex. The existence of mods shouldn't have any bearing on how you rate the base product. Mods shouldn't be required to enjoy a game fully either. It might be a problem for you and Steve, but it's not a problem for me and John. By tipping the scale in either side, one group will always be left unhappy. Instead, many games have mods that allow you to customize the experience to your liking. If you expect the developers to change something instead of using them, you're just being selfish. https://www.reddit.com/r/projecteternity/comments/9v2nq7/we_now_have_a_sense_of_just_how_badly_deadfire/ And this is the result of trying to please everyone and constantly changing the game. A flop (even though it only counts after-release sales, not backers). Even Blizzard figured out where the money is, shat at their core fans and is making a mobile Diablo game, because they know that will bring in the dough.

InXile are working on Wasteland 3, because they need to release at least one game that doesn't suck every couple of years ^^

It's more than what Wizard in Deadfire has, and I don't think I've ever saw anyone write that they don't have enough highest level spells. Tsunami is actually the best offensive spell of this level. Clashing Rocks is also great, unfortunately single target only. -

How? I just glanced at the spell list and there's 12 different level 9 spells. Just how many do you need lol. -

At least the final boss spawns. No you don't. You can add portraits the same way as every other game of this type, by uploading them manually in a correct location.
