But... min maxing is life Sure, there's no need for min maxing, but I just wanted a ruthless band of killers And you attack a lot in the game. Like, all the time. Over the course of the game that difference in might is gonna add up. but I'll stop derailing this thread now
-
I don't think there ever will be. You kill so fast with a properly built rogue that duration just isn't even a part of the equation anymore. It just doesn't matter.
-
Deep Wounds is overwritten when you hit again regardless of duration, so if you're a melee rogue that's probably a non-issue What this guy/gal says. You can and will apply deep wounds over and over and over and over and over. Even with 3 int you'll never see it expire. (unless you're screwing up really badly )

No I do not want to min max with a Rogue. And lowering Con to that level even if I would min max with a Rogue is a very bad idea in my opinion. They do not have much health to begin with, so a Con of 3 with a Rogue is a very bad idea. ( Again in my opinion. ) A Rogue with Mig/Dex/Per/Res at 18 would certainly be a beast, but with very little health. And getting hit ( Which will happen, whether I want it or not. ) would end my Melee Rogue very quickly. I played that. You just don't barge in like you're the hulk, you start off with a pistol shot or something. Get everyone in place, switch to melee, get some sneak attack debuffs on enemies and then start slaughtering. B esides, health is overrated. I'm currently a party where everyone except the Dwarf Priest has 3 con, who's minimum is 4. On PotD, of course

No min maxing? Me sad. Cause you should totally do Hearth Orlan (Living Lands) with 18/3/18/18/3/18. Absolutely beastly.

Ah damnit, now my Sanguine armor's gonna be useless And it seems I'm stuck in an endless validation loop. Again. Meh, I'll deal with that later. -
I'm seriously against a time limit. It would either have to be set so strict you can not to a completionist run for it to really matter, which I'm sure everybody is against. Or, it would be so loose that it doesn't matter unless you literally sleep after every fight... which is mindblowing stuff. Most battles, even on PotD, can easily be handled with just per encounter skills and autoattacks.

I'm going to say again that Blake Griffin is future MVP, and probably already the best point forward in the league. Yeah yeah, Anthony Davis. Monster of a power forward. But I don't see Davis dishing out 13 assists in a game

So Paladins and rangers..
Psychevore replied to cambam33's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I'm currently running a Paladin with 3 constitution as my only tank. Paladin's are fine as they are. Faith and Conviction (+Deep Faith) is a beast of a skill. -
I like human's Fighting spirit 15% damage mod and +7 accuracy better for this sort of thing .. It has limited duration but provides a bigger damage spike ..And you can hear hats while doing it . Wellspring of Life gives +3 might, +2 con and +2 dex. I'd take that any time over the human racial ability, especially cause this one is sustained until the battle ends.

1a) Nature Godlike Barbarian + Blooded (+One Stands Alone) 1b) Vengeful Defeat 1c) Second Chance equipment, either Edér's armor or the Ring of Wonder (or something, can be bought from the guy near where you meet Pallegina) 1a) Get the Barbarian to below 50% Endurance = massive damage increase + might + con + dex. One Stands Alone adds massive damage while you're throwing your Barbarian into the fray to get his endurance down (until they fix the skill, but should still give you hefty amounts of extra damage after fix) 1b) Should he happen to die ---> massive AoE damge upon death. Not 100% sure that the Nature Godlike racial ability is still at work when this happens, but it should be 1c) omg, he wakes up again! below 50% endurance and ready to continue butchering.

A fighter with mininal might and for the rest maxed out on saves. A Paladin, same as fighter. 4 glass cannons with average to great AoE abilities: Cipher, Druid, Mage and Priest Though there's not really something as a perfect party of course, I'm currently running 6 glass cannons (max constitution is 4, on the priest, cause she's a Dwarf ) without a fighter on PotD and it doesn't really matter that even my tank has relatively low endurance, everything is dead before they can really hurt em. And for the larger, more attriting (yes, this word exists, I looked it up ) battles, they're both wearing Second Chance items, so again, it doesn't really matter. (Edér's armor on the Barbarian, Ring of Wonder or something like that on the Paladin, for those that wonder)

Is There A Way?
Psychevore replied to Grinch's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
No idea why you're asking, cause I doubt it matters. Anyway, OP: Companions have no AI. You have to instruct them. If you think that sucks then... well.. yeah, but this game ain't for you -
On my hired Nature Godlike Barbarian, the racial ability Wellspring of Life doesnt't activate. At least, it's not showing up in the active effects. I think this is because I picked the Blooded ability (extra damage when below 50% endurance), but I'm not entirely sure because I only started noticing much later. Do these abilities conflict? Cause I don't think they should... this basically means I'm having a dude with a funny face who can't wear helmets, and who gets nothing in return for it. And the abilities seemed to synergize really well (+3 might, +2 con, +2 dex AND extra damage at 50% endurance? Yes please). And to top it all off, I don't even think the Blooded passive works. I'll keep this post updated as I move along. Tested outside of combat, not sure if that matters: Endurance below 50%, both Blooded as well as Wellspring of Life aren't showing up on the active effect But according to the 'console', it should be activated, as it clearly states it's activated: Edit: this seems to be a case of simply not showing up on the effects, not on the full list as well as not showing up next to the portrait with an icon, which it DID do before, but my stats are clearly augmented by Wellspring of Life. Hmm, now to see if the same is happening with Blooded.

The scary part here, boys and girls, is that this dude is deathly serious when he says stuff like this. yes, dead serious. I even provided comparisons so you could logically assess my assessment. Don't forget that feminists infecting gaming is on the rise as well. I've been over this with you before. You like women who are scarcely dressed and sexually aggressive. They don't exist in DA:I and that's why you hate them. You like women like Isabella, who talk about sex whenever they can and will screw anything that points at them. And that's really great, but those women only exist in video games and pornography (and in clubs after midnight )

You honestly think the game wouldn't become better if the AI didn't circle jerk the very first person they run into? If they just realised there's some people made of glass just a few meters further, that'd make things a lot harder already. Now it's just: a) get tank in position. b) kill everything. Also, way more encounters where enemies come from multiple directions, and not just from the front, preferably in waves. (1st wave 1st casualty, 2nd wave comes from behind. 2nd wave 1st casualty, 3rd wave comes from the front-now behind). These two things would make the game a hella lot harder. No need for hard counters and immunities.

I don't want MP in this game. That being said, the notion that people seem to have that somehow MP steals resources from SP is just... not how it works. Maybe for a game like PoE, but big AAA games don't. If a game has MP, it gets a special budget for MP, separate from SP budget, and in most cases an entirely separate team that makes the MP portion of the game. And since MP is a gigantic cash cow (microtransactions), if it does anything at all, it is allowing more money to be spent on SP because of the expected higher revenue from adding MP.
