Rather peeved right now, game requires internet connection to load stuff area's?
LadyCrimson replied to Octopus-Pancake's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)I unplugged my 'net cable - both Steam client and the game loadup just fine without it when in "offline" mode. I don't know about online mode and save game loading - I almost never use online mode.

[Bug] Auto-attack while Idle
LadyCrimson replied to KnightOfVirtue's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)They seem to get confused at times when other party members (or objects) are "blocking" their path to the enemy from collision.

What are you playing now?
Saw a post where if you cram your party in a circle formation with casters in the middle, they can't teleport next to them because of collision. Course, doesn't mean you can easily do that all the time. The collision detection+AI is actually quite annoying at times, when your party members start to move to attack, can't get close enough because of other party members, and then just stand there staring at their companions backs doing nothing, making the micromanagement even worse.

PC Retail DRM?
Yes, retail boxed versions = Steam. DRM-free copies of the game are either GoG (digital) or from the Kickstarter backer tiers as one of the tier rewards.

Cant travel out of valewood - Gilded Vale is greyed out in worl map
LadyCrimson replied to onedeveloper's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)I haven't reached that area/map, so I don't know if it actually only has a single exit point or something like that, but if not, have you tried exiting the map from another map exit "point?" I think sometimes only certain travel options will show up as travel-able from certain exit directions, if that makes sense. If that's not it ... then nvm, just ignore me.

Loot: is it random or pre-determined?
I'm happy enough, personally, with the (somewhat) random loot from chests/containers. Are you sure *all* enemy loot is hand-placed/not random - for every newly created game? eg, does it become placed static when a 'new game' is created or just static no matter what chr./save you're playing.

it's over 9,000!
LadyCrimson replied to Falkon Swiftblade's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)^ That also doesn't include anyone on Steam who plays "offline" - like me. Good numbers for Steam....I'm happy for Obsidian.

What you did today
And there we go ... beat the "most online" figure from back in Dec. '12. At least the forum doesn't completely crash anymore with numbers like that.

Physical Box Ship Date?
LadyCrimson replied to theADOLESCENT's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I'm in California and mine isn't here yet. Neither, for that matter, is that beef jerky I ordered. I'm not sure which is worse. ::sadpandaface::

Option to have use pause as a non-toggle
^ This sort of thing (as well as me just being a control freak) is why I always toggle every auto-pause option to off, except for the initial enemy-spotted-you-and-is-moving-to-engage one, just in case I'm busy taking a drink of water whilst an enemy sees me before I see them. Even in the old games. I prefer controlling the combat-pausing myself.

What are you playing now?
Don't think it's a bug I have either. There are definitely some glitches/bugs etc, some bad, but most of them don't seem (so far) to be affecting a large percentage of people, imo. Next version should fix a lot of them, sounds like. ...I wouldn't mind getting the super-stat Durance/companion glitch, however, just for the lulz.

Walking Toggle Please
I personally don't want to walk at .05mph in the game, but a toggle that switches between run and walk is not unreasonable (people want to run, toggle it so you always run and never touch the toggle again, people who want to walk, do the opposite...). Whether Obsidian will add one or not, I don't know. I think there was discussion about it during the backer beta already. But maybe it's one of those things they just didn't have time to add in late in the game.

Please add an option to remove the Out of Character memorials
Having gotten around to my first area with the tombstones - I'd say they're easily avoidable if you don't want to see them. There was one type that looked like a Washington DC monument shaped white tombstone and one was a wall plaque upon a mausoleum type grave structure. And even if you click on one, what it does is bring up a large list of "names", and to read their sayings, you click on a name. eg, it's not a field of 300 individual tombstones. Some of the names in the lists are immersion breaking, of course, but at least you don't have to read the sayings if you don't want, or don't have to click at all, period, once you know what to look for. I don't really see the big issue, with the way it was done. It was said by a developer that there is no other purpose used for these structures, so you won't potentially miss anything if you just ... don't click on the tombstones.

Console Commands/Cheats
Just to mention, at least a few/some of the console commands don't require the iroll20s and won't disable achievements at all. Like the setzoomrange or msaa ones. Those are more functional commands (just need to open console and type them in). The iroll20 ones are the "cheat" console and do disable. Although I don't know if it's for just a play session or forever, either.

What you did today
Spent the day with some family, BBQ'ing (I am so full) and doing the family things. Then came home and played another wee bit of PoE. Now considering flopping into bed, because I'm pooped.

What are you playing now?
Decided my 1st chr. was going to suck, so spent the last couple hours using her party to quick-run around and get the lay of the land/early quests and suss out the combat system more before starting over. Both Aloth and Eder's quips have made me lol so far, and I made one extra adventurer at the first Inn to see how that worked. I don't like resting very much, often feels too cheesy situation-wise, so mages aren't all that useful to me yet, especially with all the friendly fire. Just need curse/blessing casters I guess.

Pictures of your games Part 5
Not only feathered hats, but *pink* feathered hats. It's hilarious watching them run around with their hats and capes. Best game ever. (and yes the ground textures are fuzzy, it's console extreme zoomed)

Collector's Editon Map (horrible)
At least you have it. Mine's still in the mail, so to speak. ...how's the t-shirt? I want my t-shirt.

Is it possible to disable combat music?
^ Good to know (replacing with silent ogg file), thanks. I know renaming isn't always the best/doesn't always work etc., depending on the game. ...not that I personally want to get rid of them myself. I've been liking it all so far.

Forum quotations
Just to say, should all be fixed now.

Quick saving and loading times increased greatly after 20~ hours
I've seen some posts on the Steam forums talking about this. Out of curiosity, how big have the save files become? Could be duplicating saves in a temp file system or maybe the autosave - wish there was a way to turn the autosave off, actually, anyone know a trick for that?
- Cannot take screenshots on Mac with Cmd+Shift+3

Is it possible to disable combat music?
There's a music folder in the game directory....you could try looking in there for the mus_combat.ogg files. Do not delete them, just rename them to something else (example: put AA in front of them all, eg AAmus_combat.ogg) and see if that does it/those are it. If it causes any problem, you can just name them back/remove the extra letters you inserted. Steam\steamapps\common\Pillars of Eternity\PillarsOfEternity_Data\data\audio\mus\mus_final Please note that while I've done stuff like this in other games, I haven't tried it in this game yet - either it'll work fine (the usual case), it won't work at all, or the game may act weirdly if it thinks the files aren't there. YMMV.

Well, the in game party members were rubbish
I understand wanting a powerful party (and sometimes I want one too, eventually, which is why I'm glad there *is* an Adventurer's Hall) but I also like imperfect companions. I think it's more interesting to go through a storied game where everyone isn't extra powerful. eg, I don't always want The Avengers. Which is probably why I always grabbed Xan. But on some replay I am going to be making that handpicked party...

Default Keyboard
I have no idea, I'm sorry. Info could be partially attached somehow to the registry that isn't touched with an auto-uninstall or something like that.
