  1. Try talking to Visas when you're on a planet, and not on the Ebon Hawk.
  2. Indeed, and that was only because he/she was drugged. I thought it worked out rather well. I liked playing a veteran but also being able to make up my own mind as to what had happened.
  3. Bao-dur's a tricky character to try and guage, because rather than being told influence: fail, if you don't have high enough influence, conversation options simply don't appear. Just try talking to him everytime you do an action that gains influence, and gradually he'll volunteer information on his own.
  4. I was exactly the same as you - played dumb Jedi Guardian fist time round, Jedi Sentinel second time round. Have fun - it's awesome when you have lots of skills, so many new options become available! Security, Persuasion, Awareness, Repair and Treat Injury are important. I also recommend you have an INT of 16 to make sure you can fully upgrade T3. Other than that, I received enough skill points each level up to keep all my skills maxed, and had no problems. You need a minimum 12 awareness, 3 treat injury, and the rest need to be fairly high - I don't have any specific numbers. Stealth is pretty useless. So is demolitions, since so many other people have this skill and it rarely comes into any quests. Other than that, just keep computer/security/repair/awareness/persuasion maxed out and you should be fine. I took a feat to make repair a class skill.
  5. Atton's probably the easiest person to get the entire backstory from. Well, he and Mira. Even though I have managed to convert Disciple to a Jedi numerous times, I have never been able to gain enough influence to learn everything about him (there's one line - 'do you hate the Jedi?' which leads to more backstory, but I can never trigger it.) I think there may be a bug that doesn't allow you to gain any more influence after they become a Jedi. Atton...all I have to do is say his plan is a sound one when aboard the Harbinger, comment on the Echani training, and then go to Nar Shaddaa and meet the Twi'leks. It's a pity that he's so easily dealt with, because after that he has very little to say
  6. Definitely Disciple. If you mouse-click through the conversation, you can literally convert him less than 10 seconds after picking him up!
  7. I have HoloCarth standing on my Ebon Hawk too :D
  8. It must be skill related, although I am not sure which skill. When I played as a Jedi Guardian, with high awareness/persuade but nothing else, I never found it. My Jedi Sentinel found it straight away. So maybe it's based on another skill? Repair?
  9. Yes, he was in the Sith Academy on Korriban. I'm not sure who voiced Dustil Onasi, but a lot of the supporting actors in KotOR1 also provided voices in KotOR2. So it's more than likely that you are hearing the same actor.
  10. Considering how many mistakes were made in KotOR2 when trying to discuss Revan (i.e. I said that Revan was female, and yet half the time she gets referred to as a he), I can't see that KotOR3 could feasibly contain Exile or Revan. You'd have to have conversation choices for both being male and lightside, both male and darkside, one male and one female and both lightside...etc etc. Far too complicated, I'd assume.
  11. I'm extremely impressed that KotOR 2 has persuaded me to break from my tradition of always playing Guardian and actually playing a character with skills. Skills are SO useful in this game - extreme kudos there. I also loved the new jedi robes - they were really quite classy. And the use of characters...T3 suddenly has so much personality!
  12. You know, I played and loved Bloodlines, I really did... But despite having a top-range graphics card and half a gig of RAM, Bloodlines ran horribly. Really, really horribly. I had to play it on my boyfriend's computer or just persevere on mine and ignore the frame rate. It was an incredibly buggy game, and required you to 'cheat' to actually get past one level. I wouldn't have been able to play it at all had I not received the graphics card for Christmas. Now, KotOR2 runs extremely smoothly on my computer. And overall, it's easier on the eyes. I find KotOR2's graphics perfectly serviceable and they still manage to convey a good sense of atmosphere. I'm pretty poor at the moment and although I'd love to buy another half gig of RAM I think I'm going to have to wait for my birthday. So in conclusion, I'd rather see more people able to play a game with mid-range graphics.
  13. Now my character has high enough intelligence, it was really interesting to see Nihilus present when Sion beat the crap out of Kreia in the cut scene she shows you when telling you of her past.
  14. Um, that's not a bug You do realise that different save games appear under different characters? There is an option on the load game menu to switch characters.
  15. What do you mean? I'm female, and I voted Mira.
  16. Atton for me. Carth was great too, but Atton had those great behind-the-scenes moments when talking to Bao-Dur and Disciple. Plus he's force sensitive, so ultimately he has to be able to understand your character better. Plus he's slightly younger and better looking too, in my opinion.
  17. Yeah, I really don't think that it's any worse than any other games boards. Most people after all who play it and enjoy it have no need to say anything. I know that I only usually turn to the internet when I come across a major problem (fortunately had none with this game!). And I agree that a lot of people don't have the knowledge of what system they have or know how to think problems through. I'd probably be pretty useless myself if my partner hadn't been the one to build my PC and act as tech support!
  18. I have to agree. I really was completely absorbed in this game. The dialogue was so much more natural, and I was really able to empathise with my character. I also felt that 'evil' and 'good' weren't so clear-cut. The showdown with your holograohic team-mates in the tomb on Korriban was a good example of this; you couldn't avoid killing at least one of them. Or on Onderon; I could completely understand why people would want to usurp the Queen. I thought there were many subtle, but good, improvements, and I actually liked Peragus as a level to get you used to the game. I was far more attached to the characters in this game, and although there wasn't the huge plot twist of the first KotOR, it was interesting to see many aspects of the story unfold. I wasn't sure how it would end, whereas in the first game your goal was always very obvious.
  19. Good point about Atton, but you can assemble a lightsaber by only visiting Dantooine.
  20. Well I'm female and definitely Atton. Oh, and Admiral Carth, too. Fortunately with so many people being Atton/Carth fans, I'm hoping that we'll see at least one of those characters, or at very least a similar character, in KotOR3.
  21. Indeed, I also found this. Of course, in the pen'n'paper version this is made more obvious with the use of hit points/wound points - losing hit points, of which you can have hundreds, doesn't affect the character in any way, but losing wound points, of which there are very few, does affect the character, drastically lowering stats or rendering them unconscious. A critical hit goes straight to wound points. Any other hit, which depletes hit points, is considered to have been a 'close call'.
  22. I'm also a fan of visiting the planets in the order Dantooine - Nar Shaddaa - Onderon - Korriban. Especially if you're female, and picking up Disciple. The first time round I did Dantooine last and that did seem weird, getting aboard the Ebon Hawk only to be told to go straight back to the enclave. You pick up Mandalore on Dxun but he has very little to say anyway, and I like finishing off with stabilising Onderon and I found it much easier visiting Freedon Nadd's tomb with 3 characters already levelled up into Jedi.
