  1. Well...I'm very frustrated with Disciple. I can never get him to answer the question 'Do you hate the Jedi...' (to which he responds, with not enough influence, 'the problems with the Jedi are my own...) no matter how much influence I get with him. Someone said that there is a bug that doesn't allow you to unlock this conversation if you've already had influence: failure once, so restarted and went and fetched him again and did not talk to him until I had gained maximum influence with him. However, still no luck! >.<
  2. Are you being deliberately obtuse, or am I not making myself clear? 1) I said that KotOR2's story was subtle 2) You said it wasn't, and that it was more akin to being hit over the head with a hammer 3) I say, nevertheless, it was still more subtle than KotOR1 4) You say, no, it wasn't 5) So I say, 'do you really think that KotOR1 is more subtle?' All I'm looking for is, 'yes or no', I'm not asking to be told that you've already made your opinion clear or any other beating around the bush. I'm just incredulous because I didn't think anyone could think that KotOR1 was more subtle.
  3. Well, you have said that KotOR1 was, in your opinion, more subtle. And I'm asking what makes you think that, considering that if KotOR2 hits you over the head with a hammer, in my opinion, KotOR1 must be hitting you over the head with a Star Destroyer.
  4. So you actually really think that KotOR was less subtle?
  5. But it's still more subtle than KotOR1. You have to talk to people and infer from what they say. I'm not saying it's difficult to work out; I'm simply comparing it to the first game which was really, 'Find the Star Map, get captured, BAM! You're Revan.' The second game doesn't have a big twist, and unfolds more gradually. And there's a lot of game before the 'first couple of planets.' You learn a bit from the HK droids on Peragus. You find out a bit more on board the Harbinger. You overhear what the Ithorians are saying on Telos. By the time you actually meet a Jedi master and ask them questions you've already played through about half the game. There are more layers to the story in KotOR2.
  6. No problems here either. In fact, I have far more problems playing the original KotOR with the patch installed. KotOR2 runs like a dream.
  7. Kreia being the end boss (which yes, was obvious) wasn't the whole of it, however. You had to find out who she was, what her motives were, why she was taking an interest in you, what her connection to Revan was. If you had enough influence/intelligence you could find out that she was Sith quite early on. But that wasn't what the story was about. It was more of a quest for the Exile to discover him/herself and to find out what had happened back on Malachor.
  8. But the Unknown Regions are beyond the Outer Rim...which is what the title of this thread refers to...so you could also word it as 'What is in the Unknown Regions?'
  9. If you read any of the EU books, the 'Outer Rim' is basically the fringe of the known galaxy/extent of the Republic's control. A few books have characters venturing beyond the Rim (Starfighters of Adumar for one) and visiting unexplored planets there. So my vote is on an ancient, powerful civilisation spanning a few planets, with immense riches.
  10. KotOR2 is altogether more subtle, complex, and much more rewarding in terms of replayability (I've already played it more times than the original) and in seeing the various threads come together. Evil was not so clear cut, and there were several difficult descisions to be made. So I whole-heartedly disagree with your sentiments.
  11. I wasn't seeing Mira getting much lovin', so I had an attempt at drawing her myself Not quite as good, though.
  12. Interestingly enough, I discerned absolutely no difference between what Atris says when you are male or female...
  13. 21...and CRPGs are all I play!
  14. It wasn't too mushy...it could've been a lot worse. How many ways can you have a character confessing, 'I love you' without it sounding a little mushy though? It's good to see some faces behind the voices! But yes, the Carth romance was a lot better than the Bastila romance.
  15. Kreia's voice was absolutely fantastic. Really, really good delivery. I liked Atton's voice but that might be because I was biased towards the character. Sion's voice is also very...soothing, actually. Zherron - I liked his gravelly voice. Very nice. And thank goodness there was less Bastila.
  16. Can't get tired of watching T3's holo.
  17. There's a lot of love for Bao-Dur. Where did all the Attonites go?! ...but yes, I liked Bao-Dur's history with the Exile, and the sort of respectful admiration he obviously holds for her/him.
  18. Eh...I did both things exactly the same both times, and the only difference was between finding the compartment and not finding the compartment was I had a character who had skills other than persuade (which was all my Guardian had). It's basically beneath one of the bunks in the room Visas' sits in, and should be very obvious if you've triggered finding it correctly.
  19. I must've been blind, deaf and dumb because I certainly didn't see the twist coming in KotOR. It was really obvious in hindsight but at the time I didn't get it. I do like playing a game that has you as an important character. The BG series was a perfect mix of allowing for customisation - you start off as a relative nobody, but you have a dark parentage and rise through the ranks to become the most powerful progeny. You feel special and yet you also feel completely in control of your character. I dislike RPGs such as the ID series where your characters really are nobodies, and everyone else seems much more important.
  20. I only think that Revan defaulted to female because it fitted Atton's personality more that he would assume that Revan was a woman. Apart from that, I hope they never solidify what Revan was either.
  21. I'm pretty sure you can transit back...will have to load up a game and find out how exactly.
  22. It's not just about having a menu that allows customisation of a character's appearance...it's all the voice acting and scripting required too. Anyone who said that Revan was female in TSL knows how many mistakes cropped up there... I'd like to see resolution of the Revan/Exile characters, but I'm just not sure it will be feasible.
  23. That does happen, yes. But if you say 'I don't know' to Atton, it will actually default to female...
