  1. I realise that it's entirely up to your own opinion. I did, after all, play Revan as a male originally and for a whole year he was a male in my mind. I simply think that now I've gone back and played as a female, I prefer the feminine version. And it does default to DS female, so far as I am aware. It definitely defaults to female at any rate. :D I understand why people dislike Carth, but for me Bastila was so much worse. Annoying voice, large ego, petty problems with her mother, how rude she is to you when you rescue her...
  2. Cerebus - exactly the same things happened to me. I explored the Jekk'Jekk Tar before I was supposed to, I knew to wear a breath mask, and Mira also turned up wearing no suit at all, which was really quite hilarious.
  3. She did, yes, but consider: 1) Atton/Bao-Dur as Jedi probably would be able to come along, because force users would be invaluable to Revan's fight 2) The Exile needs a pilot...right?
  4. I play the pen'n'paper D20 game, so I've been getting confused re. skill points...a Guardian/Soldier gets 4 skill points per level + INT modifier. Of course, in the computer version there are less skills, so I guess the basic 4 skill points aren't needed...still, I'm presuming that you get at least 1 skill point per level up, so surely there ought to be a difference between a character with an INT of 10 (+0) and a character with an INT of 12 (+1)...
  5. So, Darth Frog, how high did you have to make your Guardian's INT? I always remember playing as a Soldier in KotOR1...even if you had an INT that should've given bonuses (i.e. an INT of 12 should give you an extra skill point per level) I only got 1 skill point per level. That was painful.
  6. I thought about that too. Not to mention that it's got to be pretty demoralising when you're a 7-foot behemoth of a man and yet you're still inferior to a woman. No wonder he was so eager to betray Revan!
  7. I certainly think Revan worked really well as a female, if only because a) Bastila can die, not to mention that she's pretty stand-offish and doesn't stick with your character the entire way through b) it makes for an interesting Malak/Revan partnership and c) there aren't enough female Sith in the Star Wars universe
  8. Zherron's line perfectly complemented his character and voice, I think. It was a definite colloquialism. EDIT: Used the wrong form of 'compliment/complement'...
  9. Thanks for doing this, Eji...I hate to think how long it took you to pull all the relevant files together!
  10. I agree with KungFuFerret, and would add that when playing through KotOR, I never really felt that Revan was entirely my own character. I was playing someone of such obvious greatness and reputation that I couldn't seem to escape my own character's past. With the Exile, you have the opportunity to decide for yourself the reasons the Exile went to war and fought.
  11. I really wanted to open up the T3 conversation so I had 16 INT (plus it gives you more skill points anyway...)
  12. I should think because it's made very clear that Revan was/is an extremely powerful Jedi, and Consulars receive the most force powers/points. Plus Revan was perhaps less of a fighter and more of a leader, a tactician.
  13. Now that one I do remember... Oh well, I suppose I'm just going to have to play through it again. Such a shame!
  14. Disciple's like a little faithful puppy.
  15. I had a Guardian with average intelligence...you just get so few class skills that either you have to sacrifice a lot of combat feats (which are useful early on) to make them class skills, or you have to use up lots of skill points...which you get very few of as a Guardian. No, I think if you're going to go for skills, you may as well be a Sentinel. As for the mines...the alternative is to have stun droid (which is useful anyway considering how many droids there are in this game) and remote-detonate them that way. You don't get the XP but it's definitely a consideration if you want to spend skill points elsewhere. And I still think awareness is pretty important, especially for getting/completing certain quests. I've found it more useful than persuasion in conversation (again, you can usually use force persuade instead of persuasion, which doesn't net you any DS points either).
  16. Hmm, I guess I must've played a goody-goody LS milksop, then Certainly there didn't seem to be that much flirting to me...
  17. I certainly enjoy romances in RPGs, just as many other people also seem to. I've read through most of the threads regarding the romance options here, and I agree that it's a little disappointing the way they're never really resolved. I also noticed that many people are of the opinion that the Carth relationship in KotOR1 was a lot more flirtatious and contained a lot more content. I never actually played a female Revan, so I reinstalled the game a couple of days ago and played right through as a female. I took Carth with me everywhere and talked to him as much as possible. Well, between from the 'beautiful' line on Taris and the very end declaration of love, I didn't see any real flirting at all. The rest of the conversations, involving his desire for revenge and rescuing his son Dustil, were exactly the same as when playing a male Revan. I actually think there's more romantic content in KotOR2, despite the romances never really coming to anything. Between Mira's comments, the cut scenes between Disciple and Atton, and a few lines of Atton's, there's quite a lot of romantic subplot revealed. Did I miss something in KotOR1, or is it really the final end scene and declaration of love that everyone means when they say the romance in KotOR1 was better?
  18. On Nar Shadda I have always killed both the Serrocco and the Exchange thugs/leaders, and not gained any dark side points. This also helps in other quests - i.e. clearing a safe path for Lootra's wife.
  19. It's an old joke which Lynne Truss re-used for her book. Shoots are buds, young leaves, or other new growth on a plant.
  20. That's because you don't hook them up with each other. After all, they both require a ship. The pilot you can give to the Lunar Shadow crewmen. Their captain is drinking in the Jekk'Jekk Tar and they're fed up with him. Find them in the Docks section. Tell them you have a pilot for them and they agree to take him on. For the refugee looking for transport off planet, you can either arrange for the Twi'lek dockmaster to take her after fixing Vogga's problems with Goto, or you can persuade the Ithorian (also found in the Docks district) to take her. You need awareness, however, to sense that the Ithorian isn't really thinking of taking her, and then you need to persuade him to keep his word.
  21. The problem with Repair is that when using the workbenches, I found that so long as my character was in the party, their repair skill was used...not Bao-Dur's or Kreia's. So when breaking down items, I only receieved one component from them. Also, with quests requiring treat injury, you can't get another character to do it for you...for example, with the sick man on Nar Shaddaa. So again, you need at least some treat injury skill to be able to cure him. The biggest reason to have security is that you get experience points every time you successfully open a lock. Not to mention that even if you manage to pick up enough items off bodies, you can still break down ones you find in containers into more components that you'd get by bashing the containers open.
  22. If it's the "what's your problem with the jedi" option that one is a bit odd. It doesn't just check the influence, but checks if you've already talked about that topic before. If you've talked about it once, you'll always get the Influence-failure response from him later. And since that particular topic is part of one of the discussions you can have with him when you first run into him in the enclave ruins, chances are you've already talked about it once. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ah, that clears the matter up. How annoying. Thanks!
  23. Except even Kangaxx the demi-lich can be beaten in just one round if your character weilds the Mace of Disruption. (I did this only last night...character level 12; one hit - bam!) And with enough traps and lightning wands, Firkraag goes down pretty quickly So I do think that a game is as difficult as you make it. By the way, I've watched people who aren't so experienced with RPGs, but are gamers, try to play KotOR2, and you know what? They had tremendous difficulty in some areas. Also, I'm not sure how you are all managing it, but I completed every quest I could find, and by the end I was only level 27/28, with a few attributes maxed past 30 - but not past 40. As a Guardian, killing enemies was easy, but I missed out on a lot of very cool conversations. Playing as a Sentinel, I'm now managing to hit things...on my third planet. Getting through Telos/Atris' academy was quite tough in places because I had less hit points than a Guardian and less force powers than a Consular - beating the assassin droids largely consisted of me running away and using stun droid from a distance. Yes, it's still not hugely difficult, but I have had at least to explore different possibilities this time through.
  24. Erm...when is this event supposed to happened? What do I have to do to get this conversation? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Try talking to her on a planet, and not on the Ebon Hawk. This worked for me.
  25. From what I've heard, it's Kreia who locked down the navicomp and who tells the Exile this providing you have enough influence with her.
