  1. I originally played both as male as a legacy of earlier roleplaying days, when males were generally favoured over females (and had better romances and there were more female NPCs). However, I find the genders in the KotOR games to be pleasantly balanced, and I've had much fun re-discovering my feminine side (being that I am female). Now, I prefer playing both as female.
  2. I always used force persuade on the guards, then met with the leader of the Exchange in the Refugee sector, killed him, and then systematically killed the rest of his goons and the door guards. All this every time I've played and I've never once got a DS point.
  3. I never really used her, either. In fact, the only time she was in my party was aboard the Ravager. Nothing against her, she jsut really wasn't a very interesting character and didn't have much to say.
  4. Well, no, but the Jedi Masters obviously felt Kreia to have some bad influence...and there are certainly several scenes in the game that indicate that she nudged her pupils in a certain direction...
  5. If you consider that Kreia trained Revan and consider her reputation within the Jedi council, it could be argued that she was of far greater consequence to the galaxy than Malak ever was. She was pulling the puppet-strings behind the scenes; you could probably peg a lot of blame on her.
  6. Power doesn't necessarily have to present itself in levels. It's also about how well your character is recognised and how people react to you. You weren't overly powerful in KotOR1 (much less so than KotOR2 anyway) but your character had a huge reputation, people reacted strongly to you, and you went around and saved the galaxy. Same with the BG games...there was always hints of your destiny, and heritage. If I want a CRPG that gives you a more ordinary character in a more ordinary setting, I'll probably play a simulation game or something.
  7. It depends on who they kill off...Visas, Disciple, GOTO...they could've happily been spaced for all I care
  8. I believe he/she is referring to the companions dying...which I would not have liked, either.
  9. Heh, whoops I'm one of those players to likes to feel all important and powerful. It felt a little pathetic as a Bhaal-spawn in BG1 to be so easily defeated by kobolds. I'm not arguing against level-caps or other such things, but there was definitely more enjoyment for me coming from taking time in challenging larger and more powerful enemies, and having to utilise different items and party members...and the most powerful weapons in the game were hard-earned.
  10. BG2 worse than BG1? BG2 fixed so many problems with BG1, gave you a fantastic enemy, had far more interesting dungeons, and really expanded well on the storyline. It had a better interface, better system...must really have different tastes
  11. I've never really paid much attention to Pazaak in all the times I've played through KotOR2. I played a couple of rounds with Atton and with people in the cantina on Nar Shaddaa, but that was about it. However, I've seen people discuss other rule-sets and talk about players other than the Exile and Atton playing Pazaak. So is there some progression by which if you play the game often enough, you're able to play Pazaak with other team-members/to slightly different rules? Because if so, it might just give me an excuse to run through the game again. I'd hate to be missing out on any fun!
  12. No, you can manage to gain enough influence through dialogue (if you have high enough awareness) - but what is crucial, like Kor Qel Droma says, is going to a specific spot on Nar Shaddaa (outside the entertainment module entrance, where Kreia teaches you to listen to the force). It's really easy to miss because you have no real reason to go back to Nar Shaddaa after getting Mira.
  13. Excellent work as always, Aimo!
  14. I enjoyed Ep 2 (yes, a few bad scenes aside) so I'm looking forward to this. And it does look incredibly cool. Roll on May!
  15. Same as Kaldhore...have completed the quest as a LS male and as a LS female. Both times I was able to speak to the Lt after getting the checklist of the three items from the Duros.
  16. Poor Disciple. Someone has to love him. Just not me. Anyway, look at it this way...whoever voted for him gets him all to themselves. I don't mind his hair, but his chin.
  17. Believe me - the outline is very, very simple, plus I chopped and changed it a bit once I'd scanned it in, erased parts of it etc. And yes, I was going for a 2D cartoon style, I wasn't attempting to make it look 3D or particularly realistic - I would've probably done a more detailed pencil version and spent more time shading if that was the case! Like I said before, just trying out some simple cel-shading. Tsel - thanks, practice makes perfect as they say! I realise some of the proportions are a tiny bit off, and working out where the shadow falls has never been an extremely strong point of mine, so I'll try to improve that.
  18. Is something like this any better, or am I way off base?
  19. Well, you had the option when travelling to Onderon to join in the space battle there (by manning the turrets) or by running to Dxun, which I appreciated.
  20. So long as I never have to go into the Ebon Hawk's turret ever again... I wouldn't mind the tactical side of space battles, or doing sidequests revolving around a space battle, but I certainly wouldn't want to have a compulsory battle that actually required me to have some gaming skill. That's why I love CRPGs...it's a matter of point and click, and everything else is tactics.
  21. LOL! That's really quite funny.
  22. Just limited to Handmaiden and Visas Atton has some fantastic lines in the beginning of the game...it's a pity his banter dies down after leaving Telos.
  23. I personally think the Exile is female, but there's an audience to cater for I guess if you don't think it's the Exile, you could pretend it's Atton (he's mine!) or maybe Nihilus without his mask or something Or maybe Visas found some random person in the street whilst you were all discussing who'd she be best with?! And I have nothing against constructuve criticism, although I must admit I am curious as to in which way you think the drawing is flat. I can personally see many things wrong with the picture, but that wasn't one of them. Did you mean you'd like to see more contrasted shadows/highlights, more texture, or more gradation in the shading? If the former, yes, I could've done more (I grew especially bored when colouring Exile's shirt) The original lines were very, very simple, and I thought a simple cel-shading would suit their cartoonishness best. Oh, and my boyfriend also pointed out that it should be more pink than purple, but what can I say? I'm addicted to purple! I also didn't do the gold detailing around the rim of her veil, too.
  24. They were ten thousand times better than the original game's. :D
  25. I'm a huge western RPG fan, but also a huge Star Wars fan. However, I have never played any of the other Star Wars games. I have, however, been a fan of the pen'n'paper SW RPG for a good many years, and so KotOR is the perfect combination of both. I love being able to move around in the SW universe.
