  1. I played the Broken Roads demo recently and, if nothing else, the alignment system in that game is potentially superior to the D&D Brady Bunch grid. It has a moral compass with 4 quadrants: Humanist, Utilitarian, Nihilist, and Machiavellian. You have an arc, like a view cone, that represents your alignment and it's not confined to any single quadrant. If you make a decision that deviates from your current alignment then the cone will rotate. If you keep making choices that align with your current alignment then the cone narrows but grows longer. Those circles are dialogue abilities you can use if they are fully within your alignment cone. Jury is out on how well it will work over the course of a full game, but it seems to better represent how people think and act than the law chaos good evil Brady Bunch grid.

  2. Wait, when did @BruceVCstart working for Larian?

  3. Sorry, Bruce, but I consider Dark Urge to be the absolute worst thing (among many bad things) Larian has managed to come up with in that game. It is the psychopath option in the game, with the "you can resist it if you want" claim being a pathetic attempt to spin what it really is.

  4. I might have misunderstood your last post, did you want to import new item/spell icons with Apotheosis? If you add new icons by creating the atlas .png & .txt manually, Apotheosis will load those icons correctly and you'll be able to assign them to abilities/items. But there's no way (at the moment) to import new ones through Apotheosis, but it's a feature I've been thinking about adding: https://gitlab.com/noqn/apotheosis/-/issues/6 Try to find some Creative Commons-licensed icons sets, that would be fair game. You could also check these out this icon resource: https://www.nexusmods.com/pillarsofeternity2/mods/339 This too is something I've put on a to-do list https://gitlab.com/noqn/apotheosis/-/issues/5 I've got just a week left until vacation and work is chill atm so I might get started on these features

  5. I dont think Fassina works well as a main tank because although most of the buffs have zero cast time and near zero recovery the summoned weapon doesn't, you have to wait that she goes through a full Sailor Moon transformation before she becomes operational. You could argue that she could start tanking then summon a weapon but dont forget that she doesn't have additional engagement slots and you have to rely on items to help you achieve that. IMHO think she works better as a secondary tank. My party composition is something like you described, I only use 2 tanks, a main to hold aggro and a secondary with higher mobility because taking down priests/wizards and chanters is normally a top priority. Also i have 5th element as single target DPS.

  6. Watched the romance cut-scene on YouTube. The "bear" was a buff (half?)elf druid and anything above the age rating was covered by grass and twigs. Not counting the general weirdness of streaming emotional player-driven moments in front of a howling audience, it seemed fine. Curious if the general narrative style is closer to Baldur's Gate or Divinity (grimdark gore with "lol so random"). I was certain that Larian has toned downed the barrels and surface effects during the EA and D&D 5e should be relatively harder to break than D:OS. Though, I have not watched the whole show, only the articles and some clips.

  8. Enough to design a law specifically to target it. Construction is big business here and Perry Homes is a major Republican donor. However given the law's broad scope, it's more of an attempt to prevent cities and counties from doing anything in regards to business than taking out this regulation specifically. It's not a surprise, the large cities have been trending away from conservative politics for a while and are also where the majority of business happens, so the Texas legislature is trying to nip any "business unfriendly" regulations in the bud by preemptively blocking cities from doing them in the first place. Assuming the Death Star stands the results are going to be pretty bad, the state of the electric grid two years after an apocalyptic freeze showed how vulnerable it was is enough reason not to trust the Texas government at managing anything.

  9. is not 'bout the burden of the ordinance. if you have ever worked the kinda job where such rules is applied, you know there is often a tension 'tween workers and management regarding perceived laziness. from management pov, a ten minute break becomes fifteen or twenty in practice and a half hour lunch break is forty-five minutes in reality. every concession owners and management makes, workers find ways to exploit, or so goes the narrative... and is not complete untrue neither. is a perception that workers is always the exploited and owners is money grubbing capitalists, but truth is that american small business is predictable more likely failing or barely surviving. running a small construction or landscape maintenance company in the economy o' the last couple decades is probable gonna involve many sleepless nights and worries over money. a couple ten minute breaks during the increasing brutal summers in much o' the US is likely insufficient and am expecting most employers is gonna have those big ten-gallon yellow igloo water jugs available so workers may hydrate as needed instead o' just twice a day + lunch. only a couple water breaks during the day for roofers on +100 degree days in arizona, california and west texas would result in mass heat stroke issues. however, am thinking the existence o' the ordinance in question suggests more than one employer in austin were not being reasonable. you get ordinances like the one in austin 'cause more than one employer is routine doing unreasonable. HA! Good Fun!

  10. Yes. They looked at a Druid and thought “could you have sex with it when it’s in bear form?” Truly, creativity worthy of one of those awful comic strips Facebook keeps pushing on me. I wonder if it is a result of me spending too much time on Larian’s forums… The Panel from Hell has drained any enthusiasm I have build up after months of not playing the game. My gripes with the title seem to be left predictably left untouched, and difficult mode seems to just crank to 11 Larian’s cheese mechanics. The last origin turned out to be just that, and the idea itself sounds actually quite interesting, but that leaves our party options really underwhelming. I assumed they were holding off on a real banger. They even created a whole we based mini game (blood in baldurs gate) just to build up to the last origin, that lacks the main component that makes origins interesting to me (aka. companions). At least choice and reactivity looks impressive even though it’s not quite my cup of tea. The choices are so extremely cruel and illogical that I can’t imagine even considering most of them - at least here they keep BioWare legacy alive.

  11. Here's a guide that worked in the Pathfinder Kingmaker game: I've been running across a few questions on how to modify sound files, so I decided to post a little tutorial here. First of all, download and extract this file: http://www.filedropper.com/soundbankeditor_1 Now go to :\Steam\steamapps\common\Pathfinder Kingmaker\Kingmaker_Data\StreamingAssets\Audio\GeneratedSoundBanks\Windows and find the appropriate soundbank (.bnk extension) you want to replace sound files from, an example is: PC_Male_Pragmatic_GVR_ENG.bnk Which is conveniently and obviously the soundbank for all the Pragmatic voicelines of male characters. Other sound files may be a bit more arcane, however, and you'll need to do some Ctrl+F sleuthing in the SoundbanksInfo.xml (from the same folder) to figure out in which .bnk the sound files you want reside. For example: main.bnk is where mastodon footstep sounds reside (instead of the more intuitive CRE_Mastodon.bnk). You discover this by Ctrl+F "blackdragon" and vetting it for footstep foleys, because apparently mastodons use black dragon footsteps. Now that you've found the .bnk file you want to modify, extract its audio data files (.wem extension) by using the python script you downloaded in the "Soundbank Editor" folder. (E.g. drag and drop PC_Male_Pragmatic_GVR_ENG.bnk on to soundbank.py) Type "extract" into the CMD window that pops up. Now you'll have extracted all the .wem files (each an individual audio file) from the .bnk, and will have populated the folder with them. Next, if you want to be able to play these .wem files and know what they sound like in-game, move all the .wem files you've just extracted into the "Divinity Sound Converter" folder. Run the Divinity Converter.exe and it will convert all the .wem files into .ogg files and place them into the NUMBERED folder. You can actually play these .ogg files with VLC media player, so now you can finally listen to what each of these files sounds like and thence make your own recordings to replace them with. These recordings need to be in the .wav format. (Further information about these sounds can be found in the SoundbanksInfo.xml by searching for their ids.) Remember to rename the .wav files you create with the ids of the .wem files you're trying to replace them with. For example if you're trying to replace 1072716689.wem with your own sound file, name your sound file 1072716689.wav. After you're done recording the sound files you want to replace the originals with, you'll need to to convert them to the .wem format. Download Wwise from https://www.audiokinetic.com/download/ and run the launcher. Create an account and log in. The functionality you need from Wwise is free. Click on the Wwise tab in the launcher and install the latest version of Wwise. Run it when installation is complete. Create a new project (name it Converter). Then, click on "Project" in the top left and in the dropdown select "Import Audio Files". Here, import all the .wav files that you have created. Once you've imported all the pertinent files, go to "Project" again and select "Convert All Audio Files". Go to C:\Users\user\Documents\WwiseProjects\Converter\.cache\Windows\SFX and you will find that all of your .wav files have been converted into .wem files. Take all of these files and bring them back into the "Sound Editor" folder from step 2. (Remember to clean up this folder first and delete everything but the soundbank.py to make things a bit easier.) Make sure all your replacement .wem files are named exactly the same as the original .wem files they're supposed to replace. Then highlight these files and the original soundbank file you want to modify (e.g. 66996788.wem, 91059350.wem and PC_Male_Pragmatic_GVR_ENG.bnk) and drag them simultaneously on to the soundbank.py. Type "replace" into the CMD window that pops up. A modified .bnk file named "changed.bnk" will appear in the same folder. Rename it to whatever soundbank you were trying to replace (e.g. PC_Male_Pragmatic_GVR_ENG.bnk) and drop it into the generated soundbanks folder in step 1. You're done. And as always, remember to make backups.

  12. I heard Larian's TikTok account was banned because of some adult content related to romance. And that they showed a scene with a bear. Could it be the same case?

  13. The last Origin for Larian's D&D game has been announced. Now it is possible to integrate murdering random NPCs into your roleplay. https://www.pcgamesn.com/baldurs-gate-3/dark-urge On one hand, the more options, the better. On the other, why only CE? Also, now I am curious if it affects the child immortality there.

  14. but he does start with a summons. the sciroccos and other stuff technical happen after the summons and may be interrupted in rtwp. am knowing most folks seem to think this battle is easier in tb, but is possible to utter emasculate him in rtwp. have done the battle multiple times for azata and aeon routes and thus far he always started with summons and chances are he don't get any other action if you rush him with a strong melee party. your own summons can be problematic as well as they lead to a potential charlie fox making it less likely your melee will reach and potential interrupt your opponent. sometimes less clutter is an advantage, or at least if you have a strong melee party. this battle is so not like playful darkness who is a melee engine o' destruction. summon a wall o' summons is less beneficial. you got a ranged and caster heavy party which as already noted is not ideal for this battle. the boss in question has a relative unimpressive ac and cmd. if you surround him with melee combatants who all have outflank and most of whom have ever ready, he should go down quick enough. if you are going court poet am understanding why your party is mostly casters + seelah, but there is nothing wrong with switching things up for this battle. for example, regill has high dex and with levels o' sacred huntsmaster you may stick him on a velociraptor or some other critter. aside, we did try and do the battle via an old azata save and we got a bug in spite o' no mods-- the boss in question has 3hp. he has 64 ac on core and with all buffs he gots a functional ac o' 72 on unfair, both o' which is zero challenge for our level 19 party, but he nevertheless has only 3hp and his caster level is presumable set at 1, so is kinda a pointless encounter in our game at the moment. will check an earlier azata save later to see if that is also bugged. weird. edit: fixed the bug did again on unfair and core and the battle is clear skewed in favor o' a party which is able to deal weapon damage asap. our party were lann (zenn archer/divine hunter with a velociraptor,) regill (got 12 levels o' sacred huntsmaster and a velociraptor,) ember as a fire spammer, sosiel with 1 level o' crossblood sorc to exploit ice spells (no madness domain, rides a boar) seelah with 1 level of sohei, and the main is a skald/crossblood sorc (18/1). no protective luck or fortune exploits. regill with his bane boosted gnome hook hammer and lann's velociraptor were co-mvps although the guarded hearth + mark of justice + skald bonuses were functional what were the winning formula and we would need to serious rethink our approach with a caster party. raptors has been nerfed considerable but a celestial raptor nevertheless provides significant damage potential for boss battles. ember died each time we did the fight on unfair but survived on core. boss ac on unfair with all buffs is actual 91 but that were not a genuine problem. additional late edit: if our game saves weren't so temporal remote, we definite would include ulbrig in a party to take on the particular boss in question. greyboar dishes out serious pain, but his precision damage is wasted in this battle and he is so slow, relative speaking. trever is not complete terrible, but he is also slow. we do not use camellia, but for most non ranged builds she is crit driven, although if you give her the metal curse her usefulness increases significant. arueshalae is ranged but her instant enemy + hunter's bond is gonna power up your entire party so she is a good choice in our opinion. even so, am thinking ulbrig and regill is obvious choices. HA! Good Fun!

  15. I finished the story mode and what a way to cap it off: To put the cherry plum on top, I made Chris Jericho tap out to a stretch plum to win the world championship. Doesn't get much better than making one of the greatest of all time submit. The story was corny as ****, but it was really fun. I got to the point near the end where I had enough mastery with the controls that rather than just trying to win the match I was showing off, taunting the opponent, throwing in a couple extra flashy moves even when I had my opponent dead to rights just to pop the crowd. Gotta give the paying fans their money's worth. I'll definitely play through the story again. There are different things that can happen and I'm 95% sure the story begins differently if you are a male wrestler. Also there's an upcoming free DLC that's going to add the Stadium Stampede match, which will be glorious pandemonium.

  16. If you thought “maybe DLSS will help Starfield not run like crap” worry not! Bethesda has partnered with AMD to ensure their games runs as poorly as it can for as many of people as possible. https://www.pcgamer.com/starfield-partners-with-amd-and-oh-boy-the-internet-is-not-happy/

  19. Nope, all of them are just regular downloads, same as if you bought them from the Microsoft Store. Early on, the games were generally provided as UWP apps, which were closed-off to modding but were nonetheless still full local downloads. However these days they're generally just standard Win32 apps and in most cases can be modded in the standard way. Bethesda games on Game Pass can be modded with any mod that does not have a dependency on the Script Extender. Cloud gaming is technically a separate service they provide, but is effectively just an inclusion if you subscribe to Game Pass Ultimate. I've been subbed to Game Pass for years but have yet to try anything on xCloud.

  21. are there any plans to include editing ai stuff like AIDecisionTrees, i mainly ask cause it'd make looking into summon ai easier but if theres no hope for fixing summon ai i guess theres no reason to bother i.e im trying to make the summons with abilities they cant use automatically(basically all except substantial phantom) actually use them by themselves when their AI is set to... well, AI, ive tried giving them a custom DefaultCustomAi and giving them the DefaultDecisionTree associated with their class/creature type but nothing seems to work

  23. I'm currently considering to use several icons from similar games, i.e., Pathfinder series, size modification is needed since the size of the games are not fit with PoE II icons' size. Is it illegal by the way?... If this is illegal, I might need to create some icon images from chatGPT or something like that.
