Not just density but also quality and creativity. Pick a random map from a Ubisoft game, look how packed the map is with icons, that's dense, right? How many of those icons represent something interesting, though?5 points

That's pretty interesting but for me, it's all about content density5 points

Finished Prince of Persia: Warrior Within. The "realism" (as in "How would it work/be used by human beings normally?") of the environment and the combat barks/visual design of the enemies are somehow worse, but the platforming and the ability to traverse the island more freely (to backtrack to collect the health upgrades) feel good. There are more optional collectibles, such as weapons and artworks, but now I am much less interested in hunting them down. I also realised that I had forgotten what some of the switches did and was pulling/pressing them to find out, which was very in-character. Defeated the final boss on the first attempt, the thing did not glitch (it used to instantly pull itself from the ledge in one of the previous playthroughs). In terms of combat, Warrior Within is more comfortable than the Sands of Time, but the targeting and auto-activating the combat mode are somehow inconvenient and some of the actions are bound to the same inputs (e.g. rolling back and doing a backflip with S+Space, which was unpleasant during the final battle). The total playtime, according to Steam, is around 6 hours. Finished Fable III - Traitor's Keep and Understone DLCs. I had forgotten some of the design issues (rather poor combat, untracked fetch quests, and good-looking but inconvenient GUI, including maps), but overall it was a very nice experience. Also Fable III has one of the most impressive character customisation systems and environments - the stats affect the PC's appearance and the story choices change the locations. I suppose, if the reboot is anywhere close to that (and preferably returns visible HP/MP, local maps, and the magic system from the original Fable), it will be great. Also, the game definitely needs a chicken companion animal.2 points

I was awash with joy when I found out today that Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season two began airing last week, and I am currently enjoying episode one. Episode two is going to drop tomorrow, I think. I remain hopeful that everything will keep being as great as the first ten minutes of the first episode. I am positively ecstatic. So much that I had to pause after the cold opening to post about it. Helpful summary of the first ten minutes: As I am unable to properly express my feelings, I will just let Beethoven speak for me:1 point

Mostly agree, though the only issues I had with Farah in T2T (vs TSoT) were the lack fire support during gameplay and the kidnapping part. Liked the new VA a lot, though. The Prince's character development seemed to make sense in the context (especially that not all switches and arena-shaped spaces are traps, but one should think before pulling/entering them). For combat, stealth became a viable approach (which was incredibly ironic with one the Prince's lines in WW - "Where I came from, we face our opponents"). Going to replay T2T next.1 point

Ah, reminds me of the golden age of Zero Punctuation. Still somehow the most on point take on the trilogy I have encountered. Parable about pudding is a very valuable life lesson.1 point

Blinken was was barely out the door (Xi's door)... https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-65969802 "US-China tensions: Biden calls Xi a dictator a day after Beijing talks" Nah, no warm and fuzzy feelings there anytime soon I think1 point

Jusant Demo This game looks a lot like Ico. You climb. The climbing mechanics are terrific. I can't speak to m&kb controls but this game was definitely made for a controller (it even says that when you start it). The triggers control your right and left hands and you use the left thumbstick to search out for handholds. You can place pitons and jump and swing and it's all really well done and super fun. The demo took me roughly 45 minutes and I immediately wishlisted the game afterward. This could wind up being the sleeper hit of the year, assuming it comes out this year. The demo is really chill and extremely fun. Hopefully the full game has extra challenges and secrets to find. I'll probably run through the demo again just to look for secrets.1 point

Finished Fae Tactics. Seems I didn't unlock all content, so may reload before the ending and farm a bit with certain characters to get at least one extra mission I missed.1 point

It probably wouldn't be metagaming or an exploit unless someone figures out how to reliably proc this effect, right? For now, it seems to be a somewhat rare bug, at least in my experience, since I've never noticed it in my runs through the game. I must say though, getting SP's passives would be a really cool and OP effect.1 point

It definitely won't the biggest thing ever. Elite Dangerous has 400 billion starsystems full of boring generated planets.1 point

Tried some demos from Steam Next Fest: Mimimi's Shadow Gambit - good, as expected. New character kits bring a welcome freshness to the title. I wasn't a fun of the tone of the title from trailers, but I like it much more in-game. The vibrant colours look rather nice on a big screen. There is one change in the control scheme, that isn't disasterous but I prefered the old method - I hope there will be an option to use the system they used for Shadow Tactics and Desperados3. En Garde - that some folks posted earlier on those forum. It's actually more fun that I expected. Combat is simple, but enjoyably chaotic. Station to Station - railway building puzzle game. Probably won't be picking it up, but it was pretty and pleasant.1 point

Elite (1984) had 8 galaxies worth of planets, on one floppy. I'd expect most of Bethesda's to be about as in depth.1 point

Big news on GOG. SEGA just released first 7 Like a Dragon/Yakuza games on GOG. You can get them all for 33EUR, which is IMHO borderline crimimal steal for few hundreds of hours of unique fun in one of the best (if not the best) open world designed series ever. Also, new giveaway. Old school isometric RPG Eschalon Book 2 is up for grabs for next few dozens hours. https://www.gog.com/en/news/yakuza_titles_are_here_7_entries_from_the_legendary_series_up_to_75_and_another_summer_sale_giveaway1 point

Nice In case anyone else has the same issue, note there are two possible places to get the mask, depending on the route you took in the forgotten sanctums. If you did the stacks before the enclosures (east before west) then you'll find the mask of the weyc on fyonlecg's husk after fighting him, following his "argument" with maura, in the oratory of wael. If you did the enclosures before the stacks (west before east), then you'll instead fight maura in the oratory of wael, and you won't be able to pick up the mask of the weyc until just before the oracle of wael fight, when fyonlecg finishes his ritual. With some stealth you can grab it off the body before triggering the boss fight. Ultimately it doesn't matter which route you take, though doing the collections first is probably easier since you can get the warden contract and make the vithracks friendly, and if you managed not to kill any librarians you won't have to fight the oracle during your first encounter. Also you can still fight maura for her belt (maura's grasping belt) if you revisit the oratory after completing the enclosures as well.1 point
