  1. assuming he gets around to editing this, the original reads as follows: anybody that doesn't think there wasn't massive election fraud in the 2020 presidential election is either very stupid, or very corrupt! am gonna concede, is rare we agree with trump but even a broken clock and all that, eh? HA! Good Fun!

  3. I was initially put off by the idea of charging the parents with the school shooting in MI. But then I read they gave the kid the pistol. They knew he was looking for ammo. They knew he was thinking about doing what he did. They KNEW his wrapper was loose and they didn't take the pistol he had no business having in the first place? To hell with them. I was 10 years old when I received my first "real" rifle. It was a bolt action single shot .22 and you had better believe my parents drilled into me what it was and what it can do. Safe handling of that rifle was so ingrained in me it's still second nature today. Because pistols are smaller, more complex, and more dangerous (by being concealable) kids should not have them. Not for nothing is the age for buying/owning a handgun set at 21 in most states.

  6. Yeah, I think for the people who are already on the "it's too different and they already really messed it up" boat, no amount of "it's actually good just keep watching bro" propaganda is going to help. If I didn't identify so much with many of the ideas and themes, I am certain I would like it a great deal less than I do. There's always unrealized potential in everything if you think long and hard enough, . The Joe/drug dealer idea would've been pretty great as well as possibly hilarious.

  7. Seems like the easy fix would be to tag reviews made during the early access period as made during early access. Updating the review after full release could remove the tag or something.

  8. Its enchantments used to be 1/encounter each - at those times almost every build that was discussed here used it. So maybe it was nerfed for being too strong.

  9. ^ Information density is low though; it's just a randomization of the same 2x37.5 Mb of data. You can get very high compression. "That's what she said."

  10. Playing the game I feel like it’s missing a key movement to combat, maybe like a combat roll or something of that nature

  11. Diamond is Unbreakable 1-7 Me at the beginning: this doesn’t look like a JoJo episode. Not even a minute later: ok, nevermind…

  12. Midnight Mass, finale. I think I'll give The Haunting of Bly Manor a shot now.

  13. Stardust Crusaders 28-29: Anubis POLANAREFFU being the big dumb yet again. I think it's required for stand users to look bizarre, so of course when Chaka transforms into one he is suddenly wearing lipstick and starts doing poses. Overall it's an interesting stand that gets defeated in a way that's absolutely hilarious, which I guess tracks for most of JoJo. Up next is Mariah and Alessi so those episodes will be fun.

  14. Five episodes in and I think the pilot is the weakest of the bunch with WoT. The world feels less janky and more expansive. There are still moments I'm having the "How the crap is that change going to work??!" before settling back and doing the "show as a companion piece to the books, not a literal translation of the books" moment. Finally have Loial on screen, and while there are potential issues with his looks - they've pushed practical prosthetics that can be used again and again vs CGI that might see the character sidelined due to budget issues - but the voice, character and delivery are pretty much spot on. That and the library introduction sequence between him and Rand was almost spot on to the book. For the subtle note, I did enjoy the lurking presence of Padan Fain hiding in the background of some of the shots of the boys moving through the city. Edit: Also of note for the uber-WoT geeks out there: The panning shot when Mat and Rand arrive to look out over Tar Valon? To be there looking over the river and seeing the city and Dragonmount in the background... Would mean at some point they've gone from west to east, crossed the river, headed north, and now have to cross back over from east to west. Apparently all roads do lead to Tar Valon, but possibly via euclidian geometry.

  15. My "problem" with Aliens over Alien is that Aliens is a completely different movie genre. It's not a worse or better movie to me, just completely different.

  16. Stardust Crusaders 25-27: N'Doul and the Oingo Boingo Brothers. Okie dokie. Iggy is smarter than Polnareff. The stands get progressively weirder as the series goes on and that's a good thing.

  20. Well perhaps I can get a little bit of redemption from you snobs with the knowledge that I showed my kids The Matrix a few months ago and told them that is where the story ends.

  22. If I were generous I'd count her impersonation of alt universe bondage Tilly back in S1 as some sort of diplomatic mission, at least. Wheel of Time ep5: TLDR; not a fan of this one at all, possibly worse than Ep1. Changes stuff that doesn't need changing, badly unfocused, and then doesn't change stuff that actually does need changing because you've changed other stuff. Note: includes fairly extensive book spoilers this time

  23. Wait, what. How can you list weird and wonderful things from Dune 1984 without mentioning Sting's batarang codpiece? It's the single most memeorable thing from the entire movie, and the second most memorable codpiece in entertainment after the Black Russian.

  24. I finally got around to watching Denis Villaneuve's Dune. This is one of those movies that I recognize is a good movie but that I didn't particularly enjoy. I mean, I didn't dislike it, I walked away from it not feeling much of anything. I rewatched the David Lynch Dune a couple of years ago and as flawed as that movie is, I enjoyed it more than this one, despite the fact that Denis Villeneuve's version is both a better adaptation of the book (half of it, anyway) and a better movie. You can't really compare a movie from 2021 to one from 1984 visually, but the 2021 movie looks spectacular. The 2021 movie also conveys the story much better. But it just left me flat, I dunno. The 1984 movie is so weird (par for the course for David Lynch) and I really love that about it. I love how grotesque Baron Harkonnen is. I love the ludicrous giant slug navigators. I even like the hilarious looking shields. The new movie just doesn't have anything delightfully weird like that.

  27. I thought InsaneCommander previously said in here that he had seen the main series and The End of Evangelion, but not Rebuild. Then again, I am arguing with your perfect memory... But besides that, agreed, . (e): Science can't yet explain how @majestic didn't remember this conversation. Thoughts and prayers for everyone involved. Cards: Once I watch the rest of the show and movie, I'll have to look up to see if any did not ever find a use.

  28. In utterly unsurprising news, Omicron has been detected in European samples from before its first official detection in RSA. In utterly utterly unsurprising news, despite this the west have travel bans from southern African countries, most of which have zero detected omicron, and no travel bans for all the western countries that definitely have it. So yeah, South Africa being punished for being competent and transparent, and Euros suffering nothing from their lack of competency and their opacity*. I may poke fun at the WHO for their pandering to China (no Xi variant as it would embarrass a certain corpulent honey loving Chinese leader) and India (switching to greek letters when an Indian variant would embarrass Modi) but there was a good reason for it when the rest of the world is all Trumpian 'just test less' to avoid being the first country to find it. As always, a big thanks to that cretin von der Leyen**- and to Germany, for kicking its embarrassments upstairs- for blocking the removal of vaccine patents, allowing more spread and more variants with more mutations. Great news for German company BionTech though, especially if there's immune escape, and that's the important thing... *should have been detected earlier, you can bet that any EU country larger than Luxemburg is doing more sequencing than RSA is. Wouldn't be in the least bit surprising if they were holding off on an announcement to avoid the negative press. **though it seems the waiver may be coming now and it is better late than never, and to be fair to the EU the Euro Parliament voted for it. In true "wouldn't be allowed into the EU itself, for being undemocratic" EU style it was the autocratic/ undemocratic level of career incompetencies on the top that was blocking it.
