  2. Well, for all my frustrations, I've put over 80 hours into that WOTR save over the course of over two years (despite never finishing it). And Kingmaker I DID actually finish. In hindsight, that also benefited from a change of pace every once in a while. There's even some easy detective work in that chapter with the plague spreading, and you tasked to get to the source of it. Plus, the nature of the campaign means that enemy variety was a tad higher in Kingmaker. Whereas it is mostly Demons in WOTR (which also means a lot of enemies with higher resistance to spells,.... which has side effects as to combat variety in itself as well. Btw. Unlike any other enemy defensive stats, NONE of the enemy difficulty settings makes this scale. It's the same resistance on lower as well as harder). I mean, Owlcat's basic idea of encounters is mostly stat block vs buffs as is. Gone are the ideas of even ancient Icewind Dale 2 toying with the environment as a factor (barrels, goblin wardrums that when not destroyed would call for reinforcements, ambushes with archers protected /harder to reach because of walls). Owlcat CAN do setpiece (see Oleg's). However, most of the time, they copypaste an enemy stat block, and have you running into that over and over. edit: As to Larian, I've never finished DOS as well for similar reasons. The first map obviously had seen the most luvin' (Early Access). I still fondly remember the encounter with the bomb/s on the graveyard. But: As soon as the second map, you'd run into the same orcs for a while over and over. Their combat system may have been nice. Their encounter system outside a few unique encounters got progressively worse though. Plus, unlike BG3, DOS is a game with a heavy combat focus as well. Every path through every map is gatekept by an enemy. The alternatives to combat aren't there. So the game would rely far more on superior encounter design than BG3.
  3. Delicious in Dungeon 8 and 9 Somehow Laios didn't know his sister and Marcille went to school together, despite all the time the spent as a group in their adventures. I know they've been eating monsters since episode 1, but episode 9 is literally "if you can't beat them, eat drink them". Tensei Slime 55 The Crusaders being beaten by goblins was hilarious. This is an entirely different level from most other fantasy stories. Moonlit Fantasy 20 The plot just skyrocketed with the momentum from the previous episodes.
  4. https://steamcommunity.com/games/1184370/announcements/detail/4170974735557630184?snr=2___ Looks pretty Owlbrew Ranger - Sable Company Marine - potentially gets a superpet. Magus - Bladebound - looks like they also get a pet, in the form of an animated weapon. Warpriest - Mantis Zealot - Cult Leader alternative with locked diety, fighting style, and weapon type. Kineticist- Kinetic Sharpshooter - looks like it uses bows to shoot blasts or something. Arcanist- Magic Deceiver- Much more limited slots but gets to make custom spells. Probably a cluster****. All things considered, I think the SCM and Bladebound show some promise depending on pet implementation while Mantis Zealot is going to be reliant on Sawtooth Sabers in game being good. I'm not optimistic about the Magic Deceiver and Kinetic Sharpshooter seems redundant for a class that is already ranged focused.

  6. As I remember, Elryn's Jacket is fixed in current patch. I'm not sure that Lavender Wreath and Binding Rope are bugged, but the behaviour is what it is supposed to be. If Elryn's Jacket is actual fixed, the build is viable imho, without it, it lose some points.
  7. Gorthfuscious dont read too much into this, this is the second time the US has done this with specific sanctions against ICC prosecutors and it didnt work last time Biden has to agree to it but its not going to change or influence the ICC decision to issue the warrants. The US doesn't fund the ICC and its not a member The main reality will continue, these 5 people cant travel to any country that is an ICC member. Does this matter? I think it does matter but its more symbolic but the ICC must continue to do the work it does and countries like the US should stay out of its prosecutorial decisions
  8. The Build Compendium thread says: "NOTE: This build relies on equipment that is currently (as of patch 3.03) bugged. Unless Obsidian fix those items, this build will remain not viable." But here there are alternatives. Does this mean the build is fine with the alternatives? Both this build and the compendium thread was managed by Andrea so I'm not sure whats up. I also only ever played on the last patch and I still don't know if Riposte stuff works since every now and then I see an old build here using it and I'm like ???? Appreciate the help and sorry for the Necro.
  9. Sort of, give Earth a good shake and mix things up a bit. Voila! Watch all those little life forms scatter and adapt
  10. I think it's sad I can't register the name of the most boring of the elements from the Periodic Table... Tedium. Nobody want's to deal with it

  12. Rather predictably... the US is going to do their worst to ensure the ICC can't function as an independent court. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cp66e6ppzd0o The Illegitimate Court Counteraction Act would target ICC officials involved with the case by blocking their entry to the US, revoking any current US visas they hold, and prohibiting them from any property transactions within the country - unless the court ceases its cases against "protected persons of the United States and its allies". Tl;dr; the US will go after the individual members of the ICC and punish them for their "transgressions" against "special friends of the US"
  13. Despite their obvious problems in a multitude of areas (no territorial control, bad rule of law, no elections etc) Palestine would have been internationally recognised this year if not for yet another US veto at the UNSC (/15670: 12-1). Also 143-9 at the UNGA a month later though they of course need the UNSC recommendation for it to be binding, so it was just kicking the ball to the Security Council for another inevitable US veto. The indictments/ arrest warrants if issued are unlikely to change anything in that respect as Haniyeh is in non signatory Qatar and the other two are in Gaza where the PA holds no sway. Indeed, a lack of capacity to act is specifically one of the reasons for the ICC being able to act in this case. --> the currently much abused term "complementarity"; ie is the state in question able (Palestine, no disputation Israel is able to) or can the state be relied upon/ is willing to prosecute (both Israel and Palestine).
  14. ^Yep. And with the death of Dr. Ed Brazzelton, the manufacturing process for Unobtainium has been lost. Honestly, its not worth the hassle. We can just wait for global warming to submerge our enemies.

  16. So first of all, "ANOTHER WAVE" is seared into my brain from DA2 and I think the combat in that game is some of the worst I've played, if not THE worst. While both Owlfinders have some serious issues with their combat, they are nowhere near that level of unpleasant. Secondly, I am a very weird guy who likes both incomprehensible high brow and nostalgia-bait low brow, so I've got no room to **** on anyone's preferences. I've put in a lot of time to WotR so clearly they did something right, and here I am still planning on doing a whopping six runs of WotR after the last DLC drops. But for me at least, the way Larian both had consistently solid combat encounters and engaging non-combat gameplay really knocked down WotR, because WotR is almost exclusively combat focused and still doesn't particularly well.
  17. Because it only creates extreme weather ...and the last time we used it we had to send a team to the center of the Earth to restart the core.
  18. State of Palestine is member of ICC. Them failing to arrest Hamas leaders in question could cause issues when they try to get international recognition.
  19. This is another "anthology of lore" episode, looking at four of screen adventures seen in Pillars1. Here for any interested. https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/worldofeora/episodes/Ep--97-The-Grand-Adventures-Pt--I-of-Caed-Nua-e2jodki
  20. Absolutely, both sides are very butthurt about getting issued with expected ICC warrants Its not like anyone's going to get arrested because they will avoid going to ICC countries but its symbolic and none of the 5 people can travel to many countries that include the EU
  21. I have not committed murder today. Heading to an art fair and apparently the company the art gallery had transport the artwork, managed to break the glass on all frames. It looks like a €450 damage. Obviously they hadn't insured it. There is a slight chance the person who made the frame had left a slightly too large gap for the glass, allowing it to vibrate too much. My experience with transport companies is though that if in doubt, it is they who messed up. After all, when I moved to the new apartment, the company my parents had hired then, snapped the legs of my desk in half, wrapped them together with tape, to better fit in the truck...
