You did WHAT...?!

A lorrydriver slammed shut a rolling door on my hand today. Pain, lots and lots of pain. Going to visit a doc in the morn to get a professional opinion. Hand is swollen as all hell and I can't twist or bend it, or use index and thumb properly.

Also, learned that "jalusi" roughly translates into rolling door!

Civilization, in fact, grows more and more maudlin and hysterical; especially under democracy it tends to degenerate into a mere combat of crazes; the whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, most of them imaginary. - H.L. Jalousie. It's a French word.

;)

I also think it's remarkable that you typed that post anyway. Thumbs up for that. Not that is dedication

My ankle is playing up rather bad today.  Twinges and pain along the back.  Really need to get that broken plate taken out and that break fixed.

Yikes! I hope your hand is ok

Yes and no? I've got some minor fractures but nothing actually broken, so it should be fine aslong as I take it easy and don't use it, still swollen and such though.

Hehe, yeah it's been swedishified to jalusi, I thought it was French; We've got alot of loan-words in Swedish, we're a multicultural bunch and have been for ages despite what the Swedish democrats try to imply ^^

Well typing with one hand works, just very slow and heavy use of backspace. And looking at the keyboard. Wich feels waaaay to noobish ;_;

I had a metal plate put in to hold my ankle together when I broke it in three different places about 7 years ago.  Apparently it broke shortly after I had it put in and one of the breaks it was supposed to help fix never healed up as a result, so I been walking around with a broken ankle for 7 years without realising it.  Found out when I went to the doctor's complaining that the pain had been getting worse thinking it was just arthritis caused by the break and got them to do an x-ray to see what was going on with it.  Naturally I was surprised to find this out, amazed that the doctor didn't seem that fussed about it but they even considered just leaving it as it is!  Fortunately they decided they are going to operate and at least take out the broken plate.

that doesn't seem like a particularly pleasant experience. My condolences. I imagine it's quite a scary experience to learn that.

Strangely not, more relief that they have found the problem! :D

Ofcourse, Swedish socialist government pays.

Possible I could get it exchanged through warranty though, most of the things happening to me is a result of errors in manufacturing. :p

They're being ornery about it, claiming that any and all errors were outside of their control, I claim it is their lack of control and poor materialsresearch that has resulted in a subpar product with many errors, when it comes to both software and hardware.

I just had a weird dream. Flew from Paris to Casablanca and then to Sochi... by hanging onto a jellyfish and thinking that it's one bad way to fly, constantly having to take care not to get tangled up and burned, what with the jellyfish and all. The trip ended in Russia because we dipped in cold water and the jellyfish shrunk - I figured it wouldn't be able to carry my weight now.

While flying I saw myself on a world map that looked like a game of Civ 4.

I often have bizarre dreams, but it's rather rare that I remember the insane details this vividly.

Just recieved my package from Modiphius entertainment(Mutant Chronicles developer), containing; 2 Cartel , 2 Bauhaus, 2 Cybertronic, 2 Imperial, 2 Capitol, 2 Mishima, 2 Brotherhood, 1 Hit Location D20, 5 Dark Legion and 5 White Star D20's, 48 Dark Symmetry D6's, Dark Eden Sourcebook, Dark Eden Campaign book, a second Core rulebook and a Cartel Artifact bag.

Total price? 260£. It's expensive being a nerd >_<

...

Totally worth it.

I've now relocated my ringbinder, dice, pen and eraser from my 15 year old, torn, worn backpack to the Cartel Artifact bag, together with all the new items. Now I'm heading to my friends place to play some Mutant Chronicles. :dancing:

Have a nice friday, I know I will! :)

I am very surprised they did not take the plates out a year after surgery. I had a rod in my leg when I broke it and they took it out as soon as the bones healed.

I suspect because it was done abroad.  If I had done it here they would probably have followed up on it better as they have done with others I know who have had similar injuries, but since I did it in Italy (the Dolomites specifically) I suspect I have fallen through the cracks somewhat.  Hell, I didn't even know they were putting plates in until the day of the operation, and its only with the recent x-ray that I found out they had put wiring in there too apparently.

I'm working almost 30 hours this weekend, so I really don't get a weekend. Sucks, but I need the money. Just gotta keep reminding myself that this is temporary and will be very worth it in the long run. At least most of the work is super easy.
