1.05 Patch Beta Live on Steam

Hey, everyone. You can find the latest patch notes here. The beta is now officially live on Steam.

 

IMPORTANT: One thing to note is that there is a change to the saved game system. This means that once you load the new beta up, your saves will be converted to use this new system. This will prevent them from being loaded up in an older version of the build. Before the saved game conversation takes place we make copies of your older saves and place them in a folder named "1.05 Save Games Backup" in your saved game directory. If you need to access your older saves, this is where they are located.

There are so many balance changes that I'd have to try it out before commenting, but the new features are definitely very welcome. Dealing with the stash after ignoring it for a while was one of the most tedious parts of the game so it's great that it's getting revamped.

Is this still an issue? Do we still have to strip our companions naked before dismissing them?

Cipher - brutal nerfes all around. Wizard defensive spells buffed. Wizard&Cipher endurance upped a bit, Cleric Ranger companion fatigue fixed. Minor changes to other classes. Wizard/Cleric health buffed a bit.

  • Grieving Mother's Perception and Intellect scores have been switched.

    My save version is 1.04 and Grieving Mother still has 17 perception. Is this change only applied to new saves?

Will the long load/save times experienced be addressed with this new save system?

But where is it? It's not obvious at all. I tried all the possible things that've come to mind.

Also, I just hired Grieving Mother for test and she has some abilities (like Fighting Spirit) shown among Level 2 Cipher Spells in Character sheet. And these abilities are clearly not Cipher Spells. The same is true for Kana; Armed to the Teeth is shown in "1st level Chanter Spells", for Hiravias etc. It seems that Abilites just aren't aligned correctly.

Also, now "Do you want to save changes?" _always_ appears when closing Options, even if nothing has been changed. E.g. click on Video, change nothing, close - and "save changes" prompt is here.

Probably. That's how it was the last time they rebalanced them. You can always change them with the IE mod (if it works with this new version). :)

Seems like they're really pushing Melee Wizard with all these buffs.

Did Parasitic Staff get buffed as well as the Pike?

I'm doing 52 damage on non-crit staff hits at level 1.

Wasn't able to respec anyone also. I have a save game right before Paledgino enters my party. Maybe new game is required? It is sad if so :(

No 1 is being looked into and no 4 and 5 seem to have been overlooked by the devs so far. 

No 6 has been noticed and thought to be after noonfrost, this affects me as my main is a monk.

No 7 is a known issue for a long time. This needs to be addressed a.s.a.p.

Okay, but the last posts of the two threads you mentioned are both before 1.05 beta was even released. So its possible that the fix from version 1.05 will solve the problem.

The fix and the issue seem to be two separate things. Check the wording of the fix and the issues in the thread.

 

That's why I ask if the fix is for the same issue.

Besides that, the other bugs need addressing too. All the other eight of them are pretty big issues, other than no. one which is just an annoyance. It does, however, break immersion.

The option is in the difficulty settings. And it only applies to companions the first time you meet them.

 

Fighting Spirit and Armed to the Teeth are their racial abilities.

This is most likely due to the new options being added to the various options menus (reset companion levels, show news, etc). If you click Save it should no longer prompt you every time you open the menu. If this persists, please let us know.
