Amentep Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 I couldn't actually piece together what Disney Infinity is. Toys ? Its a "Toys to Life" game system (similar in thought to Skylanders). You buy a toy, put it on a platform and the character the toy represents appears in the game. In infinity you can build simple games (typically action, platform and racing) and each toy and each set can unlock things in the toy box to facilitate building. Toy sets and character are usually reserved for those characters (so a Star Wars character can be used in a Toy Box or in the Star Wars Set. A Marvel character can be used in a Toy Box or a Marvel Set. But the Marvel character can't be used in a Star Wars set or vice versa. They can meet in the Toy Box - and besides creating your own you can download a bunch from Disney that fans make and upload). 2 I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? At what point on the graph do "must" and "cannot" meet? Yet I must - but I cannot! ~ Ro-Man

Gorgon Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 I see, so it's all about creating a strong incentive to get the complete set, and of course there's always more. Na na na na na na ... greg358 from Darksouls 3 PVP is a CHEATER. That is all.
Hurlshort Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 It's pretty dang clever, really. The idea that you can bring your toys to life in the game is really awesome to see. My kids are basically living in the future.
Amentep Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 There's really no need to complete the set unless you want to. The only thing that would ever be an issue is you can't create/play toy boxes based on themes/game elements that only exist in what you don't have (which I think isn't too often the case excepting specific skins) with respect to gameplay. But there is always more stuff coming to get - plus Disney stuff is collectible on its own, so I've heard of Disney collectors buying the Disney classic stuff (say the Mickey, Donald or Princess characters) without buying the game / non-Disney stuff. That can be a headache itself (which I think is par for the course - heard of the same thing with Skylanders). I've heard Skylanders is pretty fun too (I think unlike DI, you have one game and each figure unlocks specific locations in the game there). Not clear on where Lego Dimensions is going with their TtL game. I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? At what point on the graph do "must" and "cannot" meet? Yet I must - but I cannot! ~ Ro-Man

Starwars Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Expeditions: Conquistador is getting a sequel: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2128128298/expeditions-conquistador/posts/1223827 Not really news as they've posted about it on the game's STEAM forum but great to see it announced. Zoraptor Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 I thought they were doing a Alpha Protocol(ish) sounding infiltration/ spy game due to E: C not selling that well. Still, EC was pretty good if perhaps a little understandably simplistic.

Malcador Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 (edited) http://www.polygon.com/2015/5/10/8581201/kings-quest-voice-cast-reveal-video-christopher-lloyd-josh-keaton-zelda-williams Activision, Sierra and developer The Odd Gentlemen are pulling out all the stops for the upcoming King's Quest revival, and if you weren't already convinced from the game's GDC showing, today's news might win you over. In the video above, they've revealed a voice cast full of notable names. Leading the pack is Back to the Future alumni Christopher Lloyd who will be voicing King Graham as an old man. Alongside him, the younger Graham in flashbacks and stories will be handled by Josh Keaton, a veteran voice actor whose previous work includes animated shows such as The Spectacular Spider-Man and other video games such as StarCraft 2. Maggie Elizabeth Jones, a young face you may recognize from the 2011 film We Bought a Zoo, will take on the role of Graham's daughter Gwendolyn. The Legend of Korra's Zelda Williams will voice Amaya Blackstone and The Princess Bride's Wallace Shawn will voice Manny. Here's a full list of other voice actors announced for King's Quest as provided by Sierra: Tom Kenny (SpongeBob SquarePants) Michael Benyaer (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen) Loretta Devine (Crash) Gideon Emery (Teen Wolf) Jean Gilpin (Frozen) Michael Gough (Batman: Arkham Origins) Andy Pessoa (Transformers Prime) Kevin Michael Richardson (The Cleveland Show) Kath Soucie (Rugrats) Fred Tatasciore (Marvel's Avengers Assemble) Richard White Michael-Leon Wooley (The Princess and the Frog) For more on King's Quest, check out the previous developer diary detailing why The Odd Gentlemen is so excited to take on this project. Keyrock Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 (edited) Iga's Kickstarter for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is now live and unsurprisingly has already smashed its initial goal.
