Monte Carlo
Edge of Tomorrow. Groundhog Day meets Starship Troopers without the humour. Emily Blunt looks hot in power armour. The aliens are cool. Much of it is shot in London. So I liked it a lot. Dammit I hate time travel movies but the premise here at least tries to make some sort of sense within the narrative. I give it a solid 7/10.

JadedWolf
Gone Girl. 2 Hours 29 Minutes. 149 Minutes. 8,940 Seconds. Do I seem acutely aware of the time? That's because that's TOO DAMN LONG for me. Thank god the AMC theater near me has a full liquor bar and motorized reclining seats. Besides that, the movie was "ok" and the end is moronic. Just got back from watching this. Lovely romantic comedy, just delighted at how the lovely couple managed to get back together in the end. Would recommend it, especially for Bruce. I think he would love it to bits. I had to wipe away a tear at the ending. Never attribute to malice that which can adequately be explained by incompetence. Meshugger
Ha! I watched that growing up Same. I was in my early teens when this was a cartoon on TV. Even though this was a show clearly aimed at girls, and I certainly wouldn't have owned up to it at the time, I certainly watched my fair share of the show back then. Edit: Whats this, a porn movie? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRyDxEBiQUY Dear lord, i have all but forgotten that series. Thanks for reminding me of my childhood While we're at it, lets hope for a live action version of this one at the same time: Edited October 18, 2014 by Meshugger "Some men see things as they are and say why?""I dream things that never were and say why not?"- George Bernard Shaw"Hope in reality is the worst of all evils because it prolongs the torments of man."- Friedrich Nietzsche "The amount of energy necessary to refute bull**** is an order of magnitude bigger than to produce it." - Some guy

Valsuelm
'Kill The Messenger' A largely accurate, slightly incomplete story of the saga of Gary Webb. If you don't know who Gary Webb is, I highly recommend seeing the movie and then further researching the information you'll learn from watching it. If you already know the story, it's a pretty good rendition of it. This movie falls under the rare category of 'I'm surprised Hollywood made this movie'.

Volourn
That's because you are inherently racist and expect all blacks to a certain shade of 'black'. Espicialy since I bet at least half (if not way more) of black people in Amerika are of mixed blood anyways so this idea of 'not black enough' is asanine. Same with 'not white enough'. Only racist whine about stuff like that. DWARVES IN PROJECT ETERNITY = VOLOURN HAS PLEDGED $250.
Oerwinde
When adapting things from comics or animation, design is an important factor when it comes to the characters. Fans of the the property want the actors cast to look like the characters they are fans of. It has nothing to do with race and everything to do with nostalgia, as evidenced by once the movies come out and the actors do fine in the role no one cares anymore. Fans get pissed off when the hair colour of a character is wrong (especially when its something an $8 box of hair dye can fix.), so its not surprising that casting an actress that doesn't look remotely anything like the character would piss some people off. As I'm not a big fan of Jem, I don't really care, but I've experienced the feeling with quite a few comic adaptions. The area between the balls and the butt is a hotbed of terrorist activity. Blarghagh
See, if it's being phrased as a call for accuracy, I can get it. "they cast the wrong person because she doesn't look like the character" is not even close to being the same as "they cast the whitest black girl ever so it's racist". Maybe it's what they mean, but if they immediately jump to political correctness in a way that is ironically racist then they're being, ironically, racist.

Plenty of comics ahve changed characters from white to black with little whining. Besides, as TN states, this isn't about 'comic accuracy' which could be a legit 'whine'. This isn't this character should be black but more of this person isn't 'black enough'. That's evil. 1 DWARVES IN PROJECT ETERNITY = VOLOURN HAS PLEDGED $250. The book gets very heavily into what the characters are thinking so the ending does make sense even if it was a terrible decision.
Gorgon
American Sniper, directed by Clint Eastwood, starring Bradley Cooper, a film about the very successful sharpshooter Chris Kyle who was killed in tragic circumstances in 2013. I wonder how authentic it will be. Considering the movie is based on the autobiography of a guy who has been proven to have lied in said book, I wouldn't expect too much authenticity. Combat 'autobiographies' are more entertainment than anything else. A UK SAS team 'bravo two zero' trapped behind enemy lines in gulf war two turned out to be mostly fantasy as well. Maybe they actually thought they had killed several hundred Iraqis but things quickly got embarrasing when it was possible after the war to interview most of the Iraqis they had been in contact with. 1 Na na na na na na ... greg358 from Darksouls 3 PVP is a CHEATER. Raithe
Hercules - The recent Dwayne Johnson version. I'd say that's actually a fairly decent film and worth a watch. A nice little twist on the legends of Hercules, although if you're a purist on mythology, you might not like it so much. Has some fun characters with a decent cast, that while not taking themselves too seriously, aren't playing up to the hammy side of Greek epics. "Cuius testiculos habeas, habeas cardia et cerebellum." Raithe
Also, for the amusement value.. WARNING: Once you see the uncut footage of Benedict Cumberbatch doing his full-body motion capture performance as The Hobbit's Smaug — which is to say "lying on the floor and acting evil at nothing" — you may never see the dragon of destruction the same way again. Or Benedict Cumberbatch, for that matter. On one hand, you have to admit Cumberbatch gives it his all. He's lying on the floor, in a practically empty room, he's looking at nothing and no one, and he's still acting the hell out of the part of an ancient dragon threatening the unseen intruder who had the temerity to enter his lair. On the other hand, this is a video of Benedict Cumberbatch in a silver jumpsuit, lying on the floor and pretending to be a dragon, and it's also hugely hilarious to us. 5 "Cuius testiculos habeas, habeas cardia et cerebellum." Raithe
Wild Target. Bill Nighy as the aging solitary Assassin from a long and respected family of assassins, who gets hired to target Emily Blunt's klepto / full of life roguish lady who scammed the wrong person - Rupert Everett's art loving criminal. Of course, something about her wild and free attitude (along with being a pretty lady) causes Bill's assassin to not kill her and start protecting her, which ends up involving Rupert Grint's slightly idiotic bystander who becomes his apprentice.. Along with Martin Freeman as the sadistic second professional assassin brought in to deal with the problem. A fairly low key british comedy that is apparently a remake of an old French film.. 1 "Cuius testiculos habeas, habeas cardia et cerebellum."
