Drowsy Emperor Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Still taking over the world as Yang. Now that Lal is practically destroyed I'm suffering from a deficit of challenge. I don't like Transcend difficulty. Its not that much more difficult, but the drones are completely unmanagable. I usually don't nerve staple, but here I had to.Luckily, as Yang, sanctions don't mean squat to me. I picked up the Blackwell bundle, there's something about 2D adventures - I think when I stop gaming entirely I'll still be able to play a 2D adventure game from time to time. Humanoid Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Expeditions: Conquistador I spend a lot of time getting lost in the jungle. Am now at a point where I can get my first native member for the expedition. Need to decide what to do. Only have one racist follower, so the morale hit isn't that significant. More of a roleplay dilema: do I try and convince someone to leave behind their village or do I leave them there... Playing on normal ironman, I've comprehensively failed in my first attempt. I have one guy left, at -4 morale, the others all either died or mutinied. I'm totally going to play it to the bitter end though! 2 L I E S T R O N GL I V E W R O N G
Rosbjerg Posted June 1, 2013 Author Posted June 1, 2013 Still taking over the world as Yang. By turn 30 I could see that I had already won.. Sure some of the other factions are out researching me, but I can spam units at such frighteningly efficient speeds that I just trample whoever dares to declare war. Now I'm hanging back and waiting to see if the research gap is going to make the game more fun. Fortune favors the bald.

I'm totally going to play it to the bitter end though! How did you do for food? With only three soldiers I had some trouble with theft, but sending everyone else out hunting except for a scout patrolling, at least a lot of the time I can mostly eat what we hunt. Also started tinkering. Upgraded my carts twice and my tools once and am now constructing more barricades. Drowsy Emperor Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 By turn 30 I could see that I had already won.. Sure some of the other factions are out researching me, but I can spam units at such frighteningly efficient speeds that I just trample whoever dares to declare war. Now I'm hanging back and waiting to see if the research gap is going to make the game more fun. I know, I can make units with no armor and the second best weapons in the game at that moment in a single turn. And I have 15-20 bases, all of them only size 3-4 but fed minerals with supply crawlers. Since I don't have money to upgrade my obsolete units I throw them in combat to die so I can free up minerals for new units. And I still have more military units than the rest combined. If I need research I can bully smaller factions into giving it to me. Of all the military factions, Yang is definitely the toughest cookie. Immunity to inefficiency means I can spam bases all over the world and all of them have free perimeter defenses. Losing a base literally means nothing to him. Tale Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 With all the hype for Ace Attorney 5, I've decided to marathon the series. I'm in that good zone where it's recent enough for nostalgia, but old enough that I don't remember anything. So I'm looking forward to it. Keyrock Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 (edited) With all the hype for Ace Attorney 5, I've decided to marathon the series. I'm in that good zone where it's recent enough for nostalgia, but old enough that I don't remember anything. So I'm looking forward to it. Actually, I'm not objecting anything, I love that series. I just wanted to post that image. My plate remains the same: End game dungeon farming in Neverwinter Grim Dawn GRID 2 Wizardry 6 Surprisingly enough, I'm finding end game dungeon farming at least as fun, often more so, than all the stuff leading up to that. Even though Epic Dungeons are just dungeons from earlier in the game turned up to 11, they're really fun because of the challenge involved. There is frustration when you're with a crappy group, though I can usually sense when a group is not working rather early and I'll usually give it until the first sub boss for the group to get its **** together and if it doesn't then it's time to bail. However when you're with a good group working as a well oiled machine then end game boss fights are a freaking blast. Everyone does their job: The TR and GF tackle the main boss and do their best to keep him/her occupied. The GC drops AoE heals in just the right spot. The CW does AoE damage and drops status effects on mobs, and I, as a GWF, clean up groups of adds, trying to keep us from getting overwhelmed by sheer numbers, then jump on the boss during those moments when adds have been cleared. I have a couple of abilities that knock enemies prone so I can semi-stun-lock many enemies. This tends not to work on bosses, with a few exceptions, so I can't control them, but I can control lesser mobs and always make sure to try to keep the most dangerous lesser mobs (read: casters) stun-locked as much as possible. Starwars Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Playing Primordia, a cyberpunk/post apoc-ish adventure games featuring a cast of only robots. Really enjoying myself with it, the writing is really good for one. Fantastic soundtrack too. Also playing some Dungeon Siege 3 as Anjali. I really enjoy the combat gameplay of this game (especially on Hardcore) but it is a somewhat frustrating game too since... well, you kinda want Obsidian's flair for writing to really bloom, but instead of being neither really talky or being almost only combat, it's kinda stuck in the middle. Zoraptor Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Been playing a bit of Victoria II. Currently Glorious Russian Empire has liberated the 2nd Rome (turning the Black Sea into a Russian lake without so much as a peep from the Brits/ French, silly Otto refusing their mediation in the Balkans) and protected a big chunk of Africa from colonial exploitation under my socialist/liberal cloak of beneficence. I have the highest culture and industry scores, but near lowest military score (!) of any of all the great powers. Previously played as Egypt and formed the Arab Union, ended up 2nd behind the US who did nothing but sit back and accept immigrants all game while I (with help from Glorious Russia and Bro Italy) formed democratic bulwark against the depredations of Fascist Germany and the People's Commonwealth of Decidedly Average Britain. Ended the game being paid 32k/day by Germany in war reparations, I'm sure levying them on Germany would never have negative consequences down the line.
Darkpriest Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Since Xenonauts now entered into Steam and is available for pre-pruchase and beta testing, I am playing that... Utilized my Kickstarter from this one. It is still rough in terms of balance and some AI, but generally the game is playable in full.

GhostofAnakin Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 I don't know where I'd be without my auto turrets. It's the only thing that actually seems to damage the enemies. My guns take forever just to whittle the shields down, let alone kill them. melkathi Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Finished the introductory campaign of Expeditions: Conquistador. Now on to the main game. If I was to do it again, there is one choice I would not have made the same - a waste of perfectly good 100XP But mostly I can't complain. Most of my crew's moral is either "unwavering" or even "devoted", with only two having dropped to "enthusiastic". 1 Unobtrusively informing you about my new ebook (which you should feel free to read and shower with praise).
Drowsy Emperor Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 XCOM. Its becoming more interesting so far, but its also very linear. И погибе Српски кнез Лазаре,И његова сва изгибе војска, Седамдесет и седам иљада;Све је свето и честито билоИ миломе Богу приступачно.
LadyCrimson Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Reading Keyrock's description of NWO group play reminds me of some of my early Diablo2 days. Had these three 'net buddies I played with a lot and we'd make private games and sometimes the monster fights we'd get into ... those were good times. Such times are the only time I've liked multiplayer, unless you count Borderlands w/the spouse of course. (edit) oh yeah and this one guy I played Diablo1 with for a while. That was a giggle. Later tried to play with people in WoW but that didn't work out - I'm just too slow (action-wise) and easily sidetracked by non-combat stuff, so I'd always lag behind leveling for a group. And I never did like PUG's. (edit) also, still playing the professions in NWO while occasionally gaining a clvl on one of my chrs. here and there. Nothing else, really. Planet Explorer's next full alpha delayed 2-3 weeks so...constant fiddling of those profession tasks keeps me occupied. “Things are as they are. melkathi Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 I like to level at my own pace but enjoy having instances I can run with friends. Especially if they don't take too long. Unobtrusively informing you about my new ebook (which you should feel free to read and shower with praise).
Tel Aviv Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 How's the enhanced edition of Baldur's Gate, anyone? I hear a buggy mess but I'd bloody love to play some BG right about now.
Majek Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Kingdoms of Amalur. I've stayed away because i didn't like the art stlye, but now i've gotten it free on PSN+ so i'm giving it a try. 1.13 killed off Ja2.
Labadal Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Went back to the Divinity 2 expansion. Haven't felt like there has been much of a challenge. I've used most of the skill books to increase Wisdom and Mind Read. I'm gaining levels at a crazy rate.

Starwars Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Finished up Primordia. Really, really enjoyed it. One or two puzzles where I needed to consult a walkthrough but all-together I really liked the puzzles in this one, and the story/setting/atmosphere was fantastic. I've used most of the skill books to increase Wisdom and Mind Read. I'm gaining levels at a crazy rate. The expansion is pretty easy. Too easy probably. Still plodding along in Stalker: Clear Sky with Guns of Icarus Online and GRID2 on the side. I think I've given up entirely on SWtOR, got the expansion tried to get into it, but the only way I can call the SWtOR experience is "meh" tbh.
HoonDing Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Finished LA Noir. Didn't really like it. The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.
