Sea Dogs was my jam back in the day.

This is Caribbean Tales, forgot to mention that.  Is pretty cool to be sailing in a hurricane while trying to fight pirates.  Did have a funny goof where I confused the ship I was escorting for the pirate we were fighting, ended up blowing it to hell and having my French bosses dislike me

I had never heard of this game before so I looked it up on GOG and it looks very promising. I like Pirate games, Risen was very entertaining 🏴‍☠️

I'd have thought you would be more into Sid Meyer's Pirates, where you get to dance with governors' daughters in a Fable-like mini game.

I hated that. May have to do with having had a huge fight with my dance partner just before I played that.

Ooh, I'm playing this one too! Alex best girl, Nathan best boy, minigame...not very good, so I still prefer this dev's previous game, "Weedcraft", as my go-to casual-with-a-tea-mug game, since its soundtrack is much better as well. :)

I love SM:P remake, and dancing minigame is easily my favourite minigame in the whole game. Maybe because I don't have a dance partner.

Outer Wilds. Finished it, kind of a lame ending, but I guess I'm not sure where they could've gone exactly that would've been better - pretty good game overall, exploring new stuff like that is fun.

In my dreams, I am not crippled. In my dreams, I dance.

Relatedly, NwN2 Complete and IwD2 are 50% off on GOG right now. For games that I own on CD and for which I already paid full price, I'm trying to decide whether 50% off is a reasonable price for buying them a second time, factoring in avoiding the hassle of trying to run these old games on modern machines. I would appreciate your thoughts, guys.

I am in a same boat, still I am unable to decide if, that price is right... Although NWN2 is almost never on sale...

I say it is a reasonable price, although as someone who has it on CD and on Gamersgate and GOG I might be a little biased. :) It did not run smoothly on Windows 10 for me, there was some weird graphical glitch, but I remember googling some workaround that worked.

Okay, very helpful feedback guys.

Going further, I have accounts in both Steam and GOG, but all my games are in Steam and none in GOG. And I like having everything in one place. So, what are the odds of either of those games coming to Steam in the foreseable future? In fact, anyone know why they are not currently in Steam?

It would be especially awesome if someone from Obsidian happens to see this and provides a response re. NwN2 and Steam.

Captured a War Galleon in Sea Dogs (French declared war with Spanish so my mission to go to a Spanish port as a French privateer is not going to work), then the game crashed so I lost my awesome new ship

If some game is on GOG and not steam, it most likely means, that the game was broken, and the GOG made some custom made executables, so the game can run on newest OS and HW. A lot of older games, are much better products on GOG, than Steam, and they are working most of the time "out of the box" and older Steam games needs some manual fiddling.

Anyway, GOG probably solved my problem, and offered me 77% discount on Mechanicus - Omnisiah Edition, which I will most likely use instead of the NWN2 50% 😛

Mamie seems right about why its not on Steam, here is a discussion on Steam about this ...it also may be licensing issue

I liked Expeditions: Vikings but Rome era is not my jam tbh so I will pass

I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think, I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech, and freedom of choice. I'm the kinda guy that likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecue ribs with the side-order of gravy fries?" I want high cholesterol! I wanna eat bacon, and butter, and buckets of cheese, okay?! I wanna smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section! I wanna run naked through the street, with green Jell-O all over my body, reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly may feel the need to, okay, pal? I've SEEN the future. Do you know what it is? It's a 47-year-old virgin sitting around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake, singing "I'm an Oscar Meyer Wiene"
