Orville does some really good Star Trek fan service. Two Star Trek doctors at the same time? Don't mind if I do.

I agree with a lot of what you are saying, particularly making quality TV instead of event TV and keeping it simple. But I will say that Breaking Bad is a once in a generation type show, so that is probably too high a bar to set. I also think Rome and Deadwood were perfect as limited run shows. In fact I wish we had a lot more 2-3 season shows instead of all these long running ones.

I also just want most of my TV to be fun. We need more Psych, Monk, and Veronica Mars.

History Channel has an X-Files type show it seems. Scratch that. Reminds me more of a film called Fire In The Sky.

Just what do you think you're doing?! You dare to come between me and my prey? Is it a habit of yours to scurry about, getting in the way and causing bother?

What are you still bothering me for? I'm a Knight. I'm not interested in your childish games. I need my rest.

To be fair, it does seem that Irons played that role as if it were a British panto on stage.

Hm, of course, it's very hard to explain British panto to people outside the UK....

We need more Scrubs and Chuck and Parks and Rec.

Yep. I'm always surprised how hard it is to find something that isn't MA on Netflix and Amazon. I like a good serious show now and then, but when I'm putting my feet up in the family room after a long day, I'm usually just looking for something fun to watch that I don't have to exit out of when a kid wanders by.

Hulu saves the day with that, since I can watch Brooklyn 99 and The Orville.

That is good because the new episodes of X-Files were disappointing. Well, except the comedy ones, but that says something about whether it should be brought back or no.

Btw, I tried watching a Romanek something "movie" in Netflix. For some reason I imagined it would be like Fire in the Sky, but it is just garbage.

Thanks for reminding me. Just a couple days ago I thought to rewatch Rome again. At least season 1. The second season felt a bit rushed to me.

That's because it was. Rushed, I mean. :)

Brilliant! Maybe I'll delve a bit deeper into it sooner than later :)

While I do want to see this, I'd like it if this series does so well that someone finally releases the 1978-78 series PROJECT U.F.O. based on the same infestigations too.

I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? At what point on the graph do "must" and "cannot" meet? Yet I must - but I cannot! ~ Ro-Man

I enjoyed the first episode but aliens and UFOs (and conspiracies involving them) have been a guilty pleasure of mine since I was a kid

Is that supposed to be the History Channels big new show to replace Vikings as it wraps up this season?

I think so!

Love them too. I visited von Däniken's Mystery Park in Switzerland and once met the guy at one of his "lectures" for some ancient aliens fun, I even have an autographed copy of one of his books somewhere. These ancient astronaut guys are as hilarious in real life as they are on TV.

Yes, UFO Hunters and Ancient Aliens are comedies. :)

I posted about this a couple of weeks ago but nobody seemed interested.

Please don't spoil. I'm recording the episodes so I can binge-watch them all at once. :)

I love Ancient Aliens too but I ride the raggedy line of being entertained and "C'mon, everything in our history cant be tied back to aliens"...or can it?

If you ask them, the answer is yes. Even the porn industry was created by aliens. ;)

Edit: I think the idea is that everything that happened in the history of mankind was done by Aliens. Well, except the things the Aliens say they didn't do.

It's the watch it to be entertained, see what can be great visuals of rather obscure parts of the world, want to scream out that a hypothesis is not proof, and ponder on if they just have a massive inferiority complex because humanity has apparently achieved nothing on its own, merely by the aid of something else.

Finally watched Titans. I want more. And more characters.

Titans is amazing and it gets even better the further you get. I'm honestly not sure if any live action hero show will surpass it.

Ahhh probably just the holiday craze lol

Don't worry no spoilers here!

I also like watching this show, but @Raithe you hit it right on the head. Massive inferiority complex. The aliens are everything, we are nothing. And the cliche subtext: they are going to save us from our own stupidity.

I always wonder, if we couldn't have evolved naturally and someone else had to have created us, then why not the same for the aliens? So who created them?

Older and more advanced aliens?

Well, take that argument all the way back and you have ... God, right? :)
