Yes, I tried and it still doesn't seem to work. Then it's a matter of the automated resizer. Try resizing the avatar to something under the max allowed dimensions and then link it. That's how I got it to work.

I've never been able to have an animated gif as avatar that worked properly by uploading it to the forum database. I advise you upload it somewhere else and then just use the link. If that doesn't work, try resizing the gif to 64x64 and then follow the same procedure. That should get it working alright.

Feh. How can you have the hottest female NPC not be romanceable? Enough with the teasing already. *shakes fist*

So where is Vima Sunrider during the Kotor story?
213374U replied to Mondo's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Heh. I wonder if Sunrider is an actual name. I mean, it's not like they are naming some character 'Vima Microsoft'. -
The List of Continuity Mistakes
213374U replied to Darth Nuke's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Uh, no. They don't refer to it as a Virago, and the game's lead designer has already confirmed it's a Basilisk war droid. Since he is supported by LFL and you aren't, he wins by default. End of story. Nope. They don't say 'this is a Basilisk and all the Basilisks are like this and anything different isn't a Basilisk'. So it can be (and in fact it is) a Basilisk. This contradicts the statement I quoted before. " -
The List of Continuity Mistakes
213374U replied to Darth Nuke's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
No, he doesn't. He says something along the lines of 'only 6 cm of armor between him and the atmosphere', but he doesn't state clearly that it was his personal armor. And a body armor 6 cm thick would be a bit... cumbersome. Since it's not a Virago (it's a Basilisk in case you didn't get it the first 100 times), you don't really know how powerful that thing is. It passed through the blockade around Onderon, so it must have been at least moderately powerful. You don't decide what's right and what's wrong in SW, mind you. Unless you can put forward proof of something that hasn't happened yet, that's another random assumption on your part. -

That's odd, considering everything published under the brand 'Star Wars' belongs to LFL/LA. I wonder why wouldn't they be able to use it. -
The List of Continuity Mistakes

You don't have proof. Thus, it's a random assumption. As somebody pointed out earlier, you may 'ride on' in your car. And Canderous doesn't specify that the armor protecting him was actually body armor. It could be the c0ckpit's armor. (freaking censor!) So? That doesn't change the fact that it was approved. I know. And the fact that a Basilisk could deal with fleets of warships is a testament to how lame and overpowered everything was in TotJ. -
The List of Continuity Mistakes

That's you making random assumptions. For all I know, GL himself was flabbergasted at the quality of the new Basilisk concepts. More random assumptions. And there was no contradiction regarding KotOR. The only contradiction was to TotJ, and I'm glad they did it that way. The TotJ Basilisk looks stupid (to put it mildly) and it's ridiculously overpowered just like everything else in those comics. KotOR 2 has a hundred times more SW feel to it than TotJ ever did. You are wrong. It is a Basilisk, like it or not. LFL has supported it. It's your word against theirs. No, in fact I think it would look even worse in 3D. I already had 2 full dimensions of that crap, 3 would be too much for me. Well, if you aren't happy, you can always try to do better yourself. -
The List of Continuity Mistakes

That obviously depends on who you ask. My point exactly. Thus, you cannot argue that just because Insider contradicts K2, K2 is wrong. Only the Sith War comics are a valid reference for that, since in the other two, they are just copy-pasting what was displayed in the comics. It would be absurd if in some article they made up their info. However, for creative reasons, it's not. You don't know that. -

Sorry but SW Insider is not the SW bible. It has as much strength as any other licensed SW product. -

The List of Continuity Mistakes
213374U replied to Darth Nuke's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Yeah, so? That's not a real Basilisk, just a concept. Since it's an invention, a piece of fictional art, it's not set in stone unless the owner of the intellectual property says so. And in this case, they haven't. -

Uh, no. Nobody has actually seen a Basilisk so nobody can say for sure what one looks like. Nobody except LA/LFL. " -

Nah. Star Wars is not a science and as such is not set in stone. It would be too boring if it was so. -

So exactly, how are you trying to prove that a non-canon product is any more canon that another one? -
That would indeed explain why we have so many 'Darths' in these boards. "

The List of Continuity Mistakes
213374U replied to Darth Nuke's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
And that's about all the reasons I need. Well, he is the lead designer after all. If LFL approved his work, he has the right to change whatever he sees fit. But please tell me who's pointing a gun at your head to buy and play this game. If the continuity 'issues' are so abhorrent to you, you can always get back to reading your vaunted TotJ and forget all about K2. -
Review/Rant/Hopes for the future
213374U replied to chibijulian's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Real world reasoning applied to fantasy worlds always fails by default. No more changes to the ruleset, we have got an unbalanced enough game already. -
My 3 favorite, in no particular order: Kreia, probably the best voice acting, even if the voice itself wasn't that impressive. Darth Sion. The best (worst?) sounding Sith Lord since Lord Vader himself. And he ain't using no stinkin' breath masks! The HKs. Mocking Query: Coorta, Coorta? Are you dead yet? :D Yeah. The voice actor played Master Uthar in KotOR. A Sith master in K1, a Jedi master in K2, and both pretty damn well played. That says something about the actor.

Because SW is NOT FR. Bet you didn't think of that. The obvious progression, perhaps. The totally lame and un-SW like progression, definitely. And BTW, where did you read that every janitor in the 'True Sith Empire' is a level 666 behemoth of destruction? I must have missed that line.

Can we truly judge Obsidian based solely on KOTOR2
213374U replied to KOTORFanactic's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Spot on. And yep, I'm definitely going to judge OE based on K2. But then again, I liked the game, so I don't think that's what you were getting on to. -
My Radeon 9600 XT had no problems handling the game whatsoever. Perhaps my using prehistoric drivers has something to do with it, but I have crashed only 4-5 times in two playthroughs. That's about all the bugs I found. And regarding the game overall, well I must say I would have probably enjoyed it more if I hadn't signed up on these boards. Aside from having the main plot twist spoiled, I think I got my expectations too high with all the designer ramblings and stuff. Oh well, one can only learn from these things. Still, the game is one of my favs, and I don't think I will be putting it to sleep just yet.
