Female Romance option SUCKS!
213374U replied to Woodsprite4's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Nothing compares to the unconditional, programmed love of a pleasure droid. -
To you perhaps. But I don't find much fun in having the climactic battle of a chapter be done in two flurry attacks, and every regular battle be a no-brainer clickfest. There is supposed to be a difference between games and movies.
-
Well, they would have to be pretty stupid to try and collect on you in the first place, wouldn't they? I mean, probably the real tough, smart and old bounty hunters that wouldn't underestimate you, don't think you're worth the trouble.

Female Romance option SUCKS!

Uh, is there any reason to post this twice? -
There's a lot of fun lines in the game. HK I think has the most of them, but they made an effort to give the PC some, too. I liked one when trying to end a conversation with HK and then he asks you something, you get this response: "The next one that tries to stop me when I say a conversation is over, dies. Now let me go, or else." And there's all of those stupid remarks the NPCs do about your face if you are DS...

Um, while the mandalorians did raze worlds, I don't recall anything about them actually destroying planets. And I think it was mentioned that Malachor V was somewhat of a cultural taboo for the mandalorians, and that's why Revan was able to attract the bulk of the mandalorian forces there. So I think the equivalent would have been the mandalorians blowing up Corellia, Alderaan, or Coruscant itself. They certainly didn't do anything like that.

Okay. You keep trying and be sure to tell us if you find out. Meanwhile I'm going to pour me something nice and wait lying on my couch... I have a feeling this is going to take a while. "

I have tried that. I stopped leveling up at level 20 (15/5) and the game is still a pushover. The Jedi masters and Sith Lords are still pathetic. Saving levels doesn't really affect the game much because the enemy scaling is based on your current level, and not your current XP. Since I find no change of difficulty whatsoever in saving levels, I'm thinking of modding xptable.2da to put back in the level 20 cap. The additional levels are only for bragging rights and for those who appreciate leveling up more than actually playing. But even if the enemy scaling depended on your XP, the autobalance is still very, very broken. For instance I have seen regular soldiers that get a +25 to their Fortitude save, making any Force powers used against them effectively useless. It would be much easier to have the Force powers cost like 4x of their actual cost and leave AI saves as they are, so the Force is actually a tactical resource and not something you can merrily spam. They either rushed this part of the development, or their gameplay designers are nowhere near as good as their writers. There is this dude that's making a hardcore mod and plans to release a modified AI script that will actually give the AI extra feats and allow it to use them. That, a few tweaks to the Force powers cost, some fixes to the autobalance.2da to fix the ridiculous buffed saves, and a non-powergaming playing on the player's part should provide a decent challenge. There might be hope for K2 yet.

He's a comic character AFAIK. The Republic series develops this character a lot. His plot is supposedly one of the most important ones of the Clone Wars. An interesting character indeed.

Point to recruiting the Mandalorians?
213374U replied to Oerwinde's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
imo, i think this was supposed to be another minor quest that was related to mandalore, but possibly cut short due to time constraints. i found it odd that you didnt even get experience points for getting the nar shadaa and dantooine mandalorians to go to dxun, which tells me it probably was a side quest that was cut short/eliminated, but that parts of it remained in the game (much like hk-47 talking so much about the droid factory, but us never getting to see it). If you look through the soundfiles, Mandalore says something like "Now that you help me gather my clans, i will tell the reason why" --> And he tells about Revan giving Canderous the Mandalore helmet and armor, gather the clans for a great war. So that's what it is. I got him to talk a bit about it, the mandalorians following him and whatnot, but then he said something along the lines of 'we'll talk more about it later', and later never came. Oh well. -
Whatever floats your boat. Here you can resize animated gifs without downloading anything, that's the one I use.
-
Yes, I tried and it still doesn't seem to work. Then it's a matter of the automated resizer. Try resizing the avatar to something under the max allowed dimensions and then link it. That's how I got it to work.
-
I've never been able to have an animated gif as avatar that worked properly by uploading it to the forum database. I advise you upload it somewhere else and then just use the link. If that doesn't work, try resizing the gif to 64x64 and then follow the same procedure. That should get it working alright.

Feh. How can you have the hottest female NPC not be romanceable? Enough with the teasing already. *shakes fist*

So where is Vima Sunrider during the Kotor story?
213374U replied to Mondo's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Heh. I wonder if Sunrider is an actual name. I mean, it's not like they are naming some character 'Vima Microsoft'. -
The List of Continuity Mistakes
213374U replied to Darth Nuke's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Uh, no. They don't refer to it as a Virago, and the game's lead designer has already confirmed it's a Basilisk war droid. Since he is supported by LFL and you aren't, he wins by default. End of story. Nope. They don't say 'this is a Basilisk and all the Basilisks are like this and anything different isn't a Basilisk'. So it can be (and in fact it is) a Basilisk. This contradicts the statement I quoted before. " -
The List of Continuity Mistakes
213374U replied to Darth Nuke's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
No, he doesn't. He says something along the lines of 'only 6 cm of armor between him and the atmosphere', but he doesn't state clearly that it was his personal armor. And a body armor 6 cm thick would be a bit... cumbersome. Since it's not a Virago (it's a Basilisk in case you didn't get it the first 100 times), you don't really know how powerful that thing is. It passed through the blockade around Onderon, so it must have been at least moderately powerful. You don't decide what's right and what's wrong in SW, mind you. Unless you can put forward proof of something that hasn't happened yet, that's another random assumption on your part. -

That's odd, considering everything published under the brand 'Star Wars' belongs to LFL/LA. I wonder why wouldn't they be able to use it. -
The List of Continuity Mistakes
213374U replied to Darth Nuke's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
You don't have proof. Thus, it's a random assumption. As somebody pointed out earlier, you may 'ride on' in your car. And Canderous doesn't specify that the armor protecting him was actually body armor. It could be the c0ckpit's armor. (freaking censor!) So? That doesn't change the fact that it was approved. I know. And the fact that a Basilisk could deal with fleets of warships is a testament to how lame and overpowered everything was in TotJ. -
The List of Continuity Mistakes
213374U replied to Darth Nuke's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
That's you making random assumptions. For all I know, GL himself was flabbergasted at the quality of the new Basilisk concepts. More random assumptions. And there was no contradiction regarding KotOR. The only contradiction was to TotJ, and I'm glad they did it that way. The TotJ Basilisk looks stupid (to put it mildly) and it's ridiculously overpowered just like everything else in those comics. KotOR 2 has a hundred times more SW feel to it than TotJ ever did. You are wrong. It is a Basilisk, like it or not. LFL has supported it. It's your word against theirs. No, in fact I think it would look even worse in 3D. I already had 2 full dimensions of that crap, 3 would be too much for me. Well, if you aren't happy, you can always try to do better yourself. -
The List of Continuity Mistakes
213374U replied to Darth Nuke's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
That obviously depends on who you ask. My point exactly. Thus, you cannot argue that just because Insider contradicts K2, K2 is wrong. Only the Sith War comics are a valid reference for that, since in the other two, they are just copy-pasting what was displayed in the comics. It would be absurd if in some article they made up their info. However, for creative reasons, it's not. You don't know that. -

Sorry but SW Insider is not the SW bible. It has as much strength as any other licensed SW product.
