  1. No, I don't think so. While you might be able to recognize some patterns, or narrative techniques and perhaps find flaws in those, that doesn't give you a "more informed perspective" on the story itself, since the story is the same for everyone. Sloppy storytelling is not something subtle or something you need to be trained to detect. Quite the opposite in fact. But again, writing is a creative work, and not a science. Which in the end, means that any of your judgements are nothing but your opinion. You may be more knowledgeable than I am, but that doesn't make your opinion any more valid than mine at all. There you go again dismissing everyone else's opinions just because you are "a semi-professional writer". I think that stating that people are justifying, what is in your opinion, sloppy writing is rather arrogant and hints that you might be a bit too full of yourself. I tend to take elitist opinions such as yours with a pinch of salt. I'm not going to argue your credentials, they mean nothing to me. Einstein himself was proven wrong. And proving him wrong was easier than it would be to prove wrong any of those who think the story is good, because unlike art, quantum mechanics can be mathematically demonstrated.
  2. Obviously you have been doing some selective reading.
  3. Hence he's an iridonian zabrak.
  4. You are obviously wrong. Baldur's Gate (I&II) were damn long games in which you could not gain more than 10 levels. Both of them are some of the best CRPGs EVER. Rampant leveling is irrelevant to the fun factor of a game. In fact I found K2's leveling pace rather annoying at times. Uh, and what about people who hasn't ever played K1 and/or K2? Such a deep involvement of former games' plots and PCs would be extremely boring for new players and would not make sense at all for them. It's nice to have a continuation to the saga, but a game must be playable by itself, without need for the previous installments. That's the corporate reason that will prevent any of that from happening. K3, if it's ever going to be done needs a completely new ruleset, written from scratch for this purpose, OR an absolutely by-the-book approach to the d20 ruleset. The glaring game imbalance and broken mechanics are proof of this. A new ruleset would indeed have many advantages. It would allow the designers to do anything they had in mind, without being limited by the shortcomings of a ruleset that wasn't designed for a computer game in the first place. It would allow to have a generic version of Revan/exile without whiners complaining everywhere. It would get rid of ruleset bitches such as myself. But even if they did all of that, it wouldn't be possible to have a game which featured a post K1/K2 Revan or exile as the PC and at the same time, be fun. There just aren't enemies which can stand up to that level of power. The excuse that everyone in the True Sith Empire (whatever the hell that is) is an insanely powerful god of destruction is at best trite. The alternative of de-leveling them ONCE AGAIN is even worse. Not to mention that that wouldn't be SW. That would be Dragon Ball. Don't let KotOR become Matrix Revolutions.
  5. Well, console owners know (or should know) the risks of favoring the console version of a game over the PC one, not just the advantages. But let's try not to turn this into yet another Xbox vs PC thread. Anyway, you have a point. Xbox owners would be rather pissed, and MS wouldn't like that. Hence, the gods at LA wouldn't be very happy about it, seeing how their policy towards customer satisfaction ranks significantly lower than their desire to get more Xbox contracts, which in the end means that a content patch probably won't be getting the thumbsup from LA.
  6. And that pretty much sums it up.
  7. Hmm, for some reason I can't quite picture a mass murderer that would help old blind women cross the street. But then again, I try to be consequent with the idea of my PC that I have made at the beginning of the game, and I make my decisions accordingly. When I played grey Jedi, I just wouldn't get involved in most stuff. Unfortunately, that's a great way to miss XP. But again, as Rosbjerg said, it's all about the role-playing. I don't consider myself a murderous sociopath, but I have no problems role-playing one. It's just like watching a movie. I just have the PC act as I think he (or she) would, and my conscience is OK with that.
  8. I'm guessing it's broken, since I've done everything I'm supposed to, and still no luck. No big deal anyway, it's not like there's a quest related or something like in K1.
  9. where the f---ing hell do you get it? You get it as a freebie if you go Sith Assassin or Jedi Watchman.
  10. There's no rational way to explain fantasy. You either believe it, or not. And all of the Jedi masters knew about force bonding, it's just none of them had heard of one that could be potentially lethal.
  11. The Ravager was a Republic vessel. Some mandalorian says "it still bears the wounds of mandalorian weapons".
  12. That makes five of us.
  13. No. Behold this masterpiece of illogic. First you proceed to take any blame off from those who actually made the game, and place it all on the publisher. Then you state how much you hate LA. Following which, you say you will buy any SW games that come out, no matter how crappy they may be. Yeah, that's pretty coherent. You love to hate LA.
  14. Yeah, only you seem to be overlooking this little but very relevant detail. I didn't start a thread with the same subject that one that got deleted by the staff. If one of my threads was deleted, I wouldn't start a new one with the same subject. And if I was banned, I would most certainly not "come back". So yeah, it's nice and all to give me my own piece of advice, but you know, I don't need it. This thread is spam in itself, and people has lost interest in it. It will either be deleted again if it grows like the last one, or most likely just die. And no, I don't waste time in private flamewars. I only do it publicly. I'm a performer of sorts.
  15. The sole thought of you being superior to me, or anyone else for that matter was funny enough to make me spill my milk... through the nose. Nice one. I think you might have a future as a comedian, since your career as a troll will end before it begins. You are welcome. But please, would you mind telling me what's your expert opinion on why the other thread was DELETED? You know, that's not what they do with threads that grow too much or are derailed. Those are just locked. There's a difference, Holmes. Well, my reply wasn't in reference to the thread itself, but to the comment about the ban. That's why I quoted it, you know? Oh, right, reading is too taxing an effort for you. Don't worry, we understand. Apparently, not only reading is too much for your poor brain, but writing is, too, since you failed to make any sense. Keep trying, though. There's a mathematical chance that, by bashing the keyboard with your forehead, you might actually write something sensible. You just have to do it enough times.
  16. Perhaps it's you who should grow up and read some instead of attacking people based on your totally clueless opinion. There is a lot of cut content for which the voiceovers were done, and the dialog files written. Even OE sent a request to LA to make a content patch but so far no luck. So yes, I'd say things weren't supposed to be as they are now in the game. Those are our "facts". And please don't waste my time with PMs. I have no desire to indulge prepubescent children with private discussions. I have wasted too much time with you already. Bottom line is, get a clue.
  17. Don't bother. Repeating yourself ad nauseam won't change the crux of the matter: you are wrong.
  18. And you would get banned again, and again, until your ISP was notified of your actions. Kid, this ain't your friggin' private playground. If the thread was deleted, it was deleted by one of the people who own this forum, or in turn act on their behalf. I'm not even going to get into the reasons they might have had. Posting here isn't your right, it's more like a privilege. If you can't abide by the decisions of the staff, this place isn't for you.
  19. They are. But only in the d20 ruleset, where your actual physical health is represented by your wound points whose value is equal to your CON score.
  20. Because in the game you are actually hit. If not, it doesn't make sense you would use medpacks and repair kits to fix wounds. The whole hit point/wound point system was overlooked for simplicity's sake, I guess, for KotOR.
  21. Lt. Dolt Grenn is one sexy mofo.
