It means he won't allow any new characters that conflict with his views. Hence, no more Jedi wookies. Old ones, he can't suppress. He can't "delete" master Tyvokka, for instance, but don't expect to see someone like him anytime soon.

I don't have the game installed right now, but the scenes of the final battle are quite detailed. Perhaps somebody can post some pics of that.

I believe it's also quite clear that the fleet at the Star Forge was not the entire Sith fleet, only a garrison. As such, why would former republic ships be stationed there in the first place? It'd make more sense if the defense force consisted of ships that can easily be repaired and replaced by the Star Forge if the need should arise. My point exactly. The ships displayed in the Star Forge cutscenes were of the same design as the Leviathan. If those were alien ships, so was the Leviathan. You made some nice arguments for me.

TSL Movie - Who Would Play Each Role?
213374U replied to Master Dahvernas's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Having Brad Pitt play such an insipid character as that would be a waste of his great talent IMO. Not to mention he's got way too much personality and wouldn't quite fit. I think you forgot to mention you've got one hell of a sense of humor there. -
So that's what it was. Damn, I must say I'm a bit disappointed by this. I was hoping they would have made up something new and interesting but no. They had to draw upon the unspeakable lameness of the EU.

Drakron, please stop making stuff up. It was clearly stated that Revan had returned to the Republic commanding a huge armada of strange ships of alien design. I could agree with you if there were other ships composing Malak's fleet, but there weren't. In all the scenes displaying the Star Forge there's always a swarm of those ships around. And the Republic ships shown in KotOR (Endar Spire/Harbinger model) are nothing like the Leviathan. Obviously, Carth's dialogue about the Leviathan and his serving aboard that ship are a screwup on Bio's part. Simple as that.

As the map indicates, the outer rim is the external "ring" of the galaxy. Beyond it, there is nothing. In K1, Canderous tells you a story about how he and some of his pals followed "something" to almost outside the galaxy, and whatever is outside, it mustn't be pretty if even mandalorians consider it "suicide". I care about the levels. K2 is full of glaring failures when it comes to gameplay mechanics. The SW universe doesn't work as the Suikoden or whatever other fictional settings do. In SW, level 20 is the overall max. Palpatine, Yoda, and other SW gods are all level 20, and they don't get any more powerful. But it's not only the contradictions, it's the fact that the d20 system is unprepared to accomodate and balance that kind of powerlaming. But let's not turn this into a discussion about game mechanics. There are a lot of other threads about it.

The short answer: yes, it is a Star Destroyer. The long, complicate answer: uh... yes, it is a Star Destroyer. No. The Ravager and Leviathan are different vessels, from different classes. The Leviathan is supposed to be of rakatan design, manufactured at the Star Forge. The Ravager, being a Republic vessel, couldn't be of alien design. See the differences for yourself.

Right. So now Jedi depend on baubles and miscellaneous thrash to effectively wield the Force. Whatever.
-
Force Storm and Force Crush are devastating no matter what. But any power whose effectiveness is strongly dependant on a failed save is quite useless. The Stun and Fear trees for instance become a joke when a boma gets a +25 to their will save due to autobalance reasons. The game is completely broken at the higher levels and combat becomes a snorefest (even more).
-
Exploiting loopholes is a waste of time. You won't be any more powerful than your enemies since they are buffed up as you grow more powerful. Its only visible consequence is that things such as Force powers, grenades and blasters are each time less and less effective at the higher levels.
-
Not only that. It also means that from now on, no more Jedi wookies, EU or not. And of course no double-bladed lightsaber wielding slugs either.

Olsen Twins? In a few years... maybe. -
TSL Movie - Who Would Play Each Role?

You got that right. The role was like tailored for him or something. And what about the Twin Suns man? What gives? " -
(w00t) Somebody has actually been paying attention! I'm flabbergasted.

Yet another comment I wouldn't expect from the CEO. Not the kind of "our product is undoubtedly the best thing to happen since the invention of sliced bread" corporate gibberish that is so common nowadays. It might not mean much but you, sir, have my complete respect.

Anytime. So? Dealing with "ifs" isn't going to change what the game is. So far, I haven't seen any of your posts that actually hint that you might have liked any aspect of the game. Obviously the game could have been much better if... But as you can see, the former statement can be applied to almost any game you can think of. It's cool and all that you are fond of what the game could have been, but it seems you don't really like what the game is. Yep. I'm condescending, pompous, and from time to time, trollish. So what? It's not like anyone is pointing a gun at your head to reply or even read my posts. My attitude is my own and it's not your place to tell me how to behave. I'm not even going to describe yours, because this could quickly degenerate into a flame war and I'm not in the mood for one, right now. And as for the "correct" way to play the game, well, there really isn't such a thing. But this is a role-playing game, not a social relationship simulator. If instead of roleplaying you do something else and the game isn't so good, don't complain. It's as if you cheat and then you complain because it spoiled your fun. Metagaming and cheating aren't really all that different. I try to play the game as the devs intented it was played first, and then fool around, metagame, and cheat. So, you want to make this personal? Sorry pal, but I didn't flame you on that thread. Getting all defensive on me now isn't going to work. If you can't deal with other people's comments, you're going to be in for a tough ride around here. So grow up and deal with it. You obviously haven't been to many other boards. I can tell not only from that comment but from the way you react to comments. You see, every board has its share of trolls. Add that to the fact that these are the forums of a games developer, and you have to take into account all the AOL kiddies that can't even spell the name of the town they live in right. But at any rate, that's what we've got here, whether you like it or not. If you like it and want to stay, be my guest. But if you don't, the white cross against a red background in the top right corner of your browser might be what you've been looking for.

I am not presuming, you said yourself that the influence system required thought due to some "hidden" nature. If you were roleplaying, you wouldn't need to "think" about the influence system. It's that simple. And I am not justifying the influence system. I have said so many times before, the system is broken, but not as much as you claim. This is false. In my first playthrough I played a neutral character for most of the game, and I had no problems gaining influence with Kreia. And by neutral I don't mean "sometimes a Saint, sometimes a psycho". Besides, the info bits you get from Kreia that are actually relevant to the story have low influence requirements. It's all the stuff about Revan that requires you to be close to her. Besides, it looks like you have conveniently ignored my point about high and low influences having actually the same effect. There is no such paradox. Both alignments can piece the story together unless they make an effort to avoid talking with NPCs. I'm beginning to wonder what is it you seek here. You disapprove of the story, and you disapprove of the system that rules the PC-NPC relations. Those two points alone are probably the most important aspects of the game. It sounds to me like you don't like the game as a whole. Nothing wrong with that, of course; everyone is entitled to their opinion. However, I think you should move on and stop dwelling in experiences you haven't enjoyed. Perhaps you haven't realized yet, but you can't change other people's tastes through posting.

That is true. Unfortunately, that alone renders the influence system worthless. I mean, what's the point of redeeming Atton when he's still happy to gun down every man and his dog? That is not true. It's only that way if you are willing to sacrifice your roleplaying in order to gain influence, which is a rather lame thing to do in a role-playing game. I have the impression that instead of role-playing you have been doing something else. You don't need to think about the system. Just play and the system will do the rest. If you are playing an evil character, you should be evil towards everyone, including your beloved NPCs. There is a point in the influence system in which if you have lost enough influence with somebody, the influence checks will begin to succeed. I believe this is a way of implying you have broken that particular NPC's will. Granted, it's not the best way to do it, but at least it allows for development of those NPCs whose alignment is opposed to the PC's. This however can lead to paradoxes such as NPCs becoming dark Jedi who are close to attaining LS mastery, but that's a completely different story.

Uh, I'd be *really* frightened if some of those "volunteers" were actually appointed as moderators. It'd be like giving a loaded assault rifle to a crazed baboon.

You can use Miles Sound System to open those files.

For anyone looking for TSL Mods.....
213374U replied to 11XHooah's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The place to go for TSL mods is Holowan Labs. That's where l33t modders help each other and give birth to some of the best mods so far. If you come up with a good idea, they might even make the mod for you. Neat sig, by the way. -
Only if I get to trade gizka with those who have the opposite version.

And may I ask why the hell are you bumping this useless thread that, incidentally, you have posted elsewhere too? Don't bother answering. It's a rethorical question.
