Yup, my personal $ record as well. Try checking the spam folder in you e-mail and/or try editing your pledge on Fig. Maybe it's there for you to tick it. it's not there - but that's OK - Obs can keep the five bucks and have a coffee or something. Crew is now a stretch goal - falling a little short with only 20mins to go though.

^But what if all your companions die in tragic fishing accidents? (and/or you don't pick them up). My pledge in a nutshell: $45 premium digital: "naaw dawg, ain't gonna spend more than that" $65 ultimate digital: "aw hell no, can't resist something like that" $85 ultimate digital with DLC: "Obsidian why you do this" But then there's $5 discount, at least. That's almost exactly what happened to me ... except I never got the discount e-mail ... and then I had to drop back down a tier due to my passport needing renewing earlier than expected and they won't let me pay in local currency. ... maybe once the backer portal is up I can increase again. Still, $65 is more than I've spent on a single game before (DLC included).

I voted Xoti but there are quite a few I'm interested in. Bonteru - because Dwarf (and I liked Sagani ) Ydwin - sounds interesting. As for the goth comments - I wouldn't put too much stock in the concept art (remember Cadegund? First she was a good-looking, blond woman with boob-plate. Then she was a good-looking, blond woman with sensible plate. Then she was Durance ) Maia Rua - well, Kana's cooler sister sounds good - plus hawk companion. Serafen - pistol-wielding, pirate Orlan - 'nuff said.

Why though? He could still be a running gag in Pillars of Eternity 3. Even if we kill him, he could come back as an awakened soul in PoE3: "Some kid just up and took our boat. Muttered something about needing to discover that skull-island." "You mean the one with the tourist-resort?" "That's the one....oh look, he's bringing the boat back."

I agree about putting companion quests separately. I also want to read a quest resolution right after it's just finished but it auto-greys-out and I have to search for it. Not sure they could organise by area as some quests span more than one area (e.g. that hammer quest in WM2) but maybe by the area it was given from - could be too many areas though.

Cannons?

d) "RAM INTO THE ENEMY'S SHIP!!" "No, Watcher, that'll destroy our own ship in the process." "But at least we'll take the enemy ship down with us!" "I don't think you understand how 'naval warfare' works." Today is a good day to die. Ramming speed! -
They most likely won't do it for technical reasons. Ogres like Korgrak is too big fit through doors. And I think monster races like Vithrack don't have animations for every weapon Yeah - Josh mentioned in one of the Twitch streams that although he'd like to add one, the monster races use different animation skeletons and so it'd be a lot of work to allow the weapons (and armour / capes / etc) to work with them.

Feargus said they were thinking about adding it as a separately purchasable thing (maybe through backer portal) but no promises. It may be they get a deal on x-amount so it'd depend on demand. I'd be up for buying one separately if China Post could be relied upon to actually deliver it. (The goodie-bag I won never did arrive) I think you mean '101' like the basic class for something in American-speak (not '1 on 1' - unless you mean something rather more personal )

Josh mentioned in one of the Dev-commentary plays on Youtube/Twitch that he wanted to slightly alter these in the future to distinguish "your muscles bulge as you push on the wall" v. "You use magic to knock the wall down". Of course, which one should a druid use? "Shapeshift to boar form"

Love the ideas in the OP. Also: yeah - originally I thought there was a chance for success or failure depending on who you sent on a quest. But it turns out not so I just sent whoever seemed to fit the best thematically. We also were told the rewards before taking the quest. Getting different rewards based on who was sent would be cool. (I don't think playing the quests ourselves would be in the budget - it's much cheaper to write up a quest/resolution than to code all the interactions, create environments, etc). Perhaps having a small number of scripted-interaction based quests would be doable.

He kinda was - apparently everybody he travelled with met an unfortunate end - but left behind 'Fulvano's useful trinket' of one kind or another. Edit: His letters (or pages from his journal, dunno) were found on a bunch of corpses / other places. I also thought he was one such corpse at one point but further discovery led me to believe these were just his travelling companions / people he'd met along the way and sent off with his boots of reflex and good wishes.

crafting was originally a skill in the early days of PoE1 development. They dropped it when they realised it wasn't as flexible as other skills. Good decision IMO. I don't mind crafting being in, but I don't want to have to waste one character as 'the crafter' - that leads to things like leaving one of the companions (maybe adventurer's hall) at the stronghold, sending them on the side-quests to level-up, and having them as 'the crafter' to add into the party when you want something made. Realistic maybe, but tedious.

I hate it when content has no relevance in the real world. Be it computer games, movies or whatever. If it does not reflect the real wordl, it has no purpose other than distraction. I make an exception when it comes to humor (Jan for example has nothing to say, but he's just hilarious), but I'm not interested in the fictional problems of fictional characters. If I wanted to hear people whining about their lifes and problems without relevance, I don't have to play games. I just notice, as I write those lines, that people said the same things, about characters that i like. This topic very much depends on personal preference... So the problem is see is: I fear this game develops in a way, that does not fit my preferences anymore, as everything I liked about part 1 is seemingly about to get cut in part 2. One could argue, that this is my personal problem, but part 1 managed to satisfy everyone, while part 2 seems to go in another direction. Excuse me, I'm drunk. Have a very good night. Agreed on those points, so perhaps we're talking at cross-purposes. by 'philosophically important in the real world' I was thinking of things like 'the meaning of life' - if I really want to get into that, there is far better literature out there that can deal with topics more in-depth. A good novel can spend hundreds of pages on one character and their journey in a world. A computer game is limited in scope, especially one with a budget. But relevant and relateable: Taking Sagani as the example again - her journey is one of duty vs. family, and perseverance in the face of ever lengthening odds - relateable. Durance is one of bitterness in the face of betrayal and maybe survivor's guilt - also relateable But whereas Sagani's character engenders sympathy from me, drawing me into her story, Durance does not. Again - it's purely a subjective question as clearly different people like different characters. well, no - it satisfied you and me, but not everyone - a lot of people dropped away after the game's release turned out to not be what they were expecting. I'd wait and see though for part 2. I don't think it has a different direction, but not all characters are returning. Hopefully the new roster has a good mix - but whether they'll end up qualifying as 'freak' for you I don't know.

The button we can have for free - connecting functionality to it will cost you $100,000 (Disclaimer: Figure was pulled out of nether regions. It may or may not bear any resemblance to actual needed figures.) -
I just noticed that this discussion has developed into two different directions. The asshat discussionand the freak discussion. I just defended Durance as a character and an "asshat". That does not mean, that you have to be a freak to be interesting. And it also does not mean that freaks have to be bad persons. Think of Jan. The so called "sidekicks" seem to be interesting. We'll see. The only question that appears to have some sort of relevenca beyond this computer game is the first one. The other ones are just a little bit interesting if you belived in rebirth. But if you did, you probably already asked yourself that questions. Oh - I thought you meant 'interesting' as in 'interesting character/quest in the game world' not 'philosophically important outside the game world' I'll take the former over the latter. If I want the latter, I won't look to computer games for it. Still, to each their own.
