What I've been doing for 358 hours [played]. So I should not be allowed to make a mod to enforce this behavior? I promise I won't force you to use it. =) Didn't say you couldn't - just seems like a wasted effort to make a mod to force yourself to do something you already can and want to do. But hey, if that's what you want to do, go ahead I'm all for making modding easier

Fast travel? Do you mean double speed or the ability to travel to any previously visited map? Both those are easily avoided by a player if they so wish, seems odd to want to mod them out. Could only travel to adjacent maps. Not cross-continent travel . AGAIN, personally for my own game experience. I never force my mods on anyone. ~cheers~ But you can choose to do that already - just walk to the edge of the map, travel to the next one, then walk across the map to where you want to go, etc. (Pointless without the respawns though, unless you're enjoying the scenery)

That kinda suxs.. i was hoping they have more interesting goals. I take this as a good sign - they've already started work on the game and have all the good stuff planned anyway (we've seen they've got things like dynamic weather, interactive environments (to a point), etc) For me those are not really important? If weather can play a role in combat ala Divinity Original Sins, then it's not going to help combat.. it's something "random". For example rain during the combat. Or the direction of the wind (maybe increase the spread of fire and damage?). Then one can argue about these mechanics can be incorporated to the spells/skills which is true.. but then you don't need dynamic weather. In DOS you can cast a rain spell and also a whirlwind/tornado that interacts with the environment. Also i'm one who actually against day/night cycle. Some are were handcrafted to have the feel of brightness/darkness and with day/night cycle it could actually ruin it IMO. That's why i think many prefer 2D handcrafted background as opposed to 3D.. which they actually have a point. I like the tactical variety of having to compensate for different kinds of environments, and don't stand too near the barrels of gunpowder, but use one of the switch-place skills/spells to put your enemies there. Day/Night cycle helps with the immersion for me. Visiting the same place at different times can help create different atmosphere. Obsidian have proven themselves good at designing environments that work. If something needs to be dark, they'll put it inside / underground. Or have it occur at a certain time of night. As for the rest - they're building on what they already had from PoE(1), so a lot is already done. They simply don't need stretch goals for too many things beyond gameplay improvements like AI. What would you be more interested in as a stretch goal?

NoooooooOOoo! Having enforced party members was the worst thing about NWN2. In PoE(1) development we were assured that we wouldn't have to take anyone (outside the initial starting area) and could make our parties as we wished. I really hope this stays true in PoE2 Don't think that's the case. They already said they'll stick with 5 characters and it's final. They refuse to elaborate more and avoiding the topic like a ninja. This could possibly because of new UI changes that could only best fit for 5 characters. They may be making the game to work on controllers and playable on "big TV" and plays well. Basically the lesser would be better. Most party based RPG that playable on controllers and big TV are mostly 4 characters. They simply have to reduce 1 seeing that the jump from 6 -> 4 will certainly offend even more fans. But that has nothing to do with enforced characters in your party (the topic of the posts you quoted). My problem isn't with 5 characters (though I'd prefer 6) - I have a big problem with being forced to take 'character-X' along in my party. Since that means I have to leave someone I want to take behind.

I recall a BG2 playthrough where I only used 4 party members (PC-Thief, Korgan, Edwin, Viconia) - mostly because they were the only available evil NPCs (I know I could've added Jan as a neutral, but I didn't need another thief). It was a fun playthrough, though I still added to make it 5 in TOB. I still played the full 6 every other time - more character interaction and RP options are better IMO.

I don't mind the idea of multi-classing, and it can lead to some fun role-playing builds (Barbarian-Wizard? Rogue-Paladin?) - but please don't spend eternity ( ) balancing the game out. If there are one or two OP builds, that's fine. But don't nerf the cr*p out of the fun builds just because someone else *can* build it to be OP.

Hi 0/ Sadly I think you have to upload them via an other webstite first then get the url and paste it It's the only way I know I will then ask you a little effort to do so because I wanna see your protraits !! And yea try to ask Cortana about some portraits folders too (might be somewhere) Click on 'More Reply Options' (next to 'post') and you'll find the button to upload an attachment (I had to be told that too, so it's not super-obvious)

I'm exploring the White March and got to Galvino's Cabin (where I know the DoC awaits and would like to add her to my party). But there's a note on the cabin door that says "I'm busy, come back later if you must" or something to that effect. There's no way to open the door. I've tried coming back at different times of day/night, and after completing another quest or two, but nothing changes. Is this gated by a particular act/quest? Or is there something else I must do to have the cabin open? I'd really like to complete my team before doing too many more quests. (Installed both WM1+2 if that makes a difference)

Starting POE - open questions
Silent Winter replied to N1C1's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Somewhat confusingly, the gog standalone installers (not sure about galaxy) say 'Setup pillars of eternity 2.10.0.16' as their filename, but their POE version is 3.03 (It says (3.03) next to the filename when downloading from gog) -

Cypher is bugged in 3.03. https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/88092-psychic-backlash-bug-cipher-use-it-on-himself-at-the-begining-of-battle/ Doh! I guess I can avoid taking Psychic backlash (though that does look like a cool ability) -

Main Story, an atheist cliche?
Silent Winter replied to Brimsurfer's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Greetings from sunny Oz, on hols but just popped in for a quick look and had to reply: and I will gladly engage in the ideological debate with Silent Winter. Well, I'm now officially on holiday and flying soon so I'll have to bow out. Thank you for the discussion and your patience in explaining your points, even if I didn't always agree with, or perhaps get, what you meant. Aww booo! Enjoy your holiday. I'm super jealous. I enjoyed our debate, although you did manage to frustrate me to no end lol. Yet I never actually managed to state my own beliefs. So for the record, I am not Atheist, I do in fact believe in the "historical" Jesus, and yes I do believe that there is a God. I do not believe in what I refer to as the fairytale God that stems from the any Bible (Christian, Mormon, etc). I am one of those who believes that science and spirituality can co-exist. I acknowledge that my belief in God is purely faith based due to the complete lack of convincing evidence that God exists. I view Atheists as intellectually lazy, Agnostics as fodder, and all other forms of indoctrination as mindless fanaticism. You and I probably believe in the same God, but we arrive to that belief in a fundamentally different way. Cheers! Wow - ya got me! You win the obsidian award for narrative twist No time to continue discussion but it's interesting considering your arguments from this new perspective (that'll teach me to leap to conclusions ) Have a good'un -

I'd like this if it wasn't just a difficult maze with darkness. Navigating a maze in the dark is just systematic and time-consuming. But if it were like the regular PoE dungeons (still needing to find your way, some dead ends with fights/finds) but with limited visibility within your torchlight circle, it could indeed be atmospheric. Like anything, it's fine if it's not overdone.
