  1. They could only show Caed Nua in ruins right after the incident, wouldn't be tricky but depends if they see it worthy; prolly be a never again visited area that we'll spend too little time... but you only have one chance to make a first impression and they already said it will be a "cool beginning"...
  2. Not true, he offered to buy one for Iselmyr, even had to extend his offer to Aloth.
  3. Alright, ima gonna change my opinion once again on this topic I got used to the narrating guy, and all the voiced dialogue & not reading. Damn, DOS2 is making me lazier than I was.
  4. Ok, now playing DOS2; I don't like the voiced narrating, it gets old too fast. And for dialogue...doesn't matter voiced or not if its not interesting, I'm gonna fast forward, which I'm doing more often than not atm. So I trust Obs to do...whats best for the game :D F*** VO discussion; lets push for quality writing for interesting themes, situations, characters, schemes & plots & scenarios & scripts & deeper relations and whatnot
  5. I don't really care who voiced which characters in any given game cept' for NV which I learned willingly or not and those famous actors did a fantastic job IMO. I also prefer fully voiced game, don't care if its famous actors or not, PoE's VAs were good or not bad/I haven't especially noticed a VO that I called out bad. Its up to Obs whether its a worthy investment or not. Hopefully consistent VO will be better than Pillars 1 anyway.
  6. Sounds more like him acknowledging that Ydwin is pretty popular (atm anyway) and that all of the sidekicks have the same first class choice restrictions. I think that means 2 of the sidekicks(out of 4) have special subclasses, Ydwin has class choice but no special subclass. Its not clear ıf the 2 that have special subclasses also have class choice or locked "first class".
  7. Do we know how well DOS did? I think that Feargus said in an interview that PoE sold around a Million copies which seems solid. They do support multiple projects right now, so it seems the success of PoE was used to revive the company rather than pour all of it into a single project. And even though Deadfire is a game I am looking most forward to, I am also looking forward to see what the secret project is. At least according to SteamSpy, D:OS has ~1.3 million owners vs. a million for PoE. However, D:OS has been out a year longer so that might increase its count a bit. It also sold 300-400k copies on consoles IIRC.
  8. Check out Larian's update about deciding to fully voice their game. They had a huge game of hundreds of thousands of written lines and they just said "fakk it - let's voice it" (they even voiced the narrator!). After that I believe the voice = less text mindset is just an excuse. If you want it, you're gonna do it. Its also a matter of trusting your game, if you believe you made something special, more/full VO would only make it better in terms of reception - sales. If Obs is thinking Deadfire will do as good as Pillars 1 but not much better then they won't invest in full/more VO other than the double they already promised for more rich-consistent VO. In Larian's case, DOS1 prolly was too successful/profitable so they could pay for it with less worry, in addition to trusting their game.
  9. And they could totally release it in a few months, it seems totally functional and we know the production ends this monday
  10. http://www.rpgcodex.net/forums/index.php?threads/obsidian-media-blitz-pillars-of-eternity-ii-and-tyranny-bastards-wound-interviews.118062/#post-5282244
  11. For me RTwP>TB & grounded>over the top fantasy, therefore Deadfire.(And 3D>2D backgrounds but Deadfire gave me pause; it really looks beautiful this time around which was not the case for Pillars1 for me. Tho I still think 3D is better for RTwP combat). I enjoyed some of DOS1 and would have played it past act 1 had there not been 2 main characters, hated it. Thankfully its not the case for its sequel.
  12. Again, to be fair we only know for certain that this applies in the Vailian Republics. As far as I can recall we don't have any information for how godlike's are viewed in other parts of Eora. We don't need to know how every part of the world views them atm. We can safely assume its a problematic issue overall(supported by Sawyer quote above). Its not even current year equivalent time in Eora, maybe all godlikes are bastards in their father's eyes
  13. Apparently Obs created a whole new race for the issue and named it effin GODLIKE... OP should be ashamed of themselves for asking more
  14. So apparently Obs won't participate in gamescom according to rpgwatch. Which is disappointing as well as a sign that european based Pdx won't publish the game, I think.
  15. Aside from portrait quality/aesthetics; only Eder looks like a different person, which bugs me a little. This usually happens in 3D games when they upgrade their engine/graphics or something and had to remodel their characters in greater detail but doesn't make sense here on 2D portraits, yeah the characters are 3D and while 3D models should look like the portraits; they shouldn't dictate how the portraits look in this case.
  16. I don't know if orchestras need classic guitar or not but I like its sound and orchestras don't provide that sound
  17. After listening to this: I wonder why is there no classic guitar in orchestras/PoE soundtrack?
  18. I'd like to see existing or new abilities using characters' body instead of weps, kicking for knockdown ability, headslam as suggested above, some acrobatic moves to make rogues [seem] more mobile in the battlefield and ofc exclusive monk animations etc. Rogue exclusive bomb-throw ability(extended range); when highlighted it'll show the bombs in their inventory/quickslot, which they will volley-kick into target area, like serving in tennis but with their feet obviously
  19. Hah indeed)Becoming the leader of The Companions, Dark Brotherhood, Mage and Thief guilds appealed more to me, than continuing the main quest (which I never finished) Are you me? I'd love to become and Arch Mage in Pillars. Or at least see Aloth ascend to such heights. Maybe some unique Aloth only spells that he creates at some point. He'll be an archmage in Pillars of Eternity V: Empire, if he survives that long. His first spell to be used by all the mages around the world will be Aloth of Missiles, which will deprecate MMM.
  20. Maybe the watermill isn't always on? It does seem rather silly to have the chairs and tables there. Nice spot to get a bit of a soak on a hot day though. That hotel(?) looks awesome tho, if I were a tourist in Neketaka, I'd stay there. There is also what seems to be a bascule bridge on that map(00:53), I wonder if its dynamic?
