  1. I don't much care about appropriate names for the given setting or culture or whatever, as long as its not too modern a name I feel ok with it. I could go with Quillon or Beren(silmarillion), Halbarad(lotr) or names in my lang which I think fits in these types of games like Kartal(means eagle). I remember I named my first character Batman in an rp-pvp server of age of conan(first&last mmo for me), I was made fun of and laughed with them till GM forced me to change it, which I renamed to Dicaprio lol, later this also had to be changed. Another possible name is Rawer, which doesn't mean anything I know of except for RAWRRR!!!
  2. 6-7 gigs download on steam, 14 gigs on hdd. gog should be pretty much the same. B.Adler has clarified this I believe.
  3. Yep, I apparently missed that before. Before this I had no idea about anything except for souls playing big part in it.
  4. dammit... I was relieved towards the end with the absence of spoilers, then the guy called his character something and I immediately recalled a part of the kickstarter video. F***!
  5. I usually go with rogue for the first time but I'll be the barbarian(human) this time. Will definitely play with monk in a subsequent playthrough and while I hate magic and have never played with magical classes in an RPG, cipher seems appealing also.
  6. No one said that. I was talking about the NPCs that stay there - the ones that grant the prestige and security bonuses or penalties. If those NPCs are not content, that's really lame. Just so you guys are aware, everyone who visits your stronghold actually walks around it. You also get hirelings (and companions) that fill the stronghold. All of those visitors in the menu where actually inside the main hall. We didn't show it off. I don't think these visitors have extensive conversations though. I know you can interact with them. One thing I was thinking about showing was the other, sharper way you can get rid of the drunkard. Nice, dai didn't have this, Josephine chick would say this and that are visiting but no one ever showed. So far everything about the stronghold seems better and has more purpose in it than the infamous skyhold.
  7. Game looks better than the last stream, or it may be just me. Loved the combat musics/overall audio, stronghold mechanics. And I said this before, why do Pallegina looks so much like Rihanna? :DD
  8. Also these tho you might need google-translate for most of them http://www.everyeye.it/pc/articoli/pillars-of-eternity_anteprima_24972 http://www.gamersglobal.de/preview/pillars-of-eternity-1 http://www.gamona.de/games/pillars-of-eternity,vorschau-pc:article,2601939.html The following 2 are just about that optional content is 2/3 of the game. http://www.gram.pl/news/2015/02/20/pillars-of-eternity-to-glownie-aktywnosci-poboczne.shtml http://www.game-debate.com/news/?news=16075&game=Project%20Eternity&title=Three%20Quarters%20Of%20Pillars%20Of%20Eternity%20Is%20Optional%20Side%20Content%20Claims%20Obsidian%20Dev
  9. For this reason I wanna go with GoG on the other hand I have no problem with steam's drm and I wanna preload the game, not very fast interwebz here. 50/50 atm...
  10. Here's an impression from Angry Joe from PDXCON 15' "Pillars of Eternity over all my favorite game of the show", for Josh Sawyer "He knows his ****" :D 16:04 to 20:10 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5RcVjY5s1Jo#t=966
  11. I always play male; can't immerse with the character/game using the opp gender. Also I select human for the same reason. Down the line playthroughs, rarely I be the elf; tho I make it look as humane as possible in character creation, then I rage at the game for not making it considerably different experience that I expected from being an elf.
  12. If it was available around now, it would be awesome as there are no other competitors; that's not happening so rumored march 24 sounds good, any late and it would enter witcher's window and even later than witcher is unacceptable but for a least bugged experience we'd have to comply(hope it wouldn't come to that). I just don't wanna focus on both games at the same time which I will if they'd be available at the same time; I have no self control.
  13. Yours is the pc and they are npc, they can intervene/suggest things at most. Having 2 PCs in D:OS is what I don't like about that game.
  14. But then again that is more then any other game did, so that should tell you something. It was better in vampire the masquerade/being a malkavian. Since low int dialogue's confirmed and there is no/little(?) VO restrictions for writers; I'm hopeful for PoE to be better than above games in this respect.
  15. Better this way. Less companions is better: I like having choices everywhere else but I don't like choosing which companions to bring with me, want to see everyone's reaction on every turn.
  16. Do you believe comprehensive modding tools are essential in ensuring long-time survival of a game and its fan community? Depends on the game. If a game; has obvious unused technical potential/is full of bugs/is open world and/or has a bad story&characters then modding could help/be essential. But if it's a complete, bug-free experience and if it's as good/great as most people expected or if it's above expectations then modding wouldn't be essential. f.i. I saw what mods could do in Bethesda games but I never felt Witcher 2 needed mods in my numerous playtroughs. In this game's case, I'm not an expert but they are doing some complicated sh*t with how they are making maps and stuff, using a lot of tools, 5 different layers in a map etc. It wouldn't be easy to make a modding-friendly tool for that/There wouldn't be enough modders who can do that for making the tool to be worth it. I may be completely wrong. Do you believe Obsidian is doing enough, based on what we know, to ensure good tools for the modding community? I believe they are trying to make the game as good as can be first and making a comprehensive mod tool is not a priority/obligatory thing for them and I'm fine with that.
  17. DAO's origin stories were the only sections of the game where playing a different race felt different. In a game with that name extension, you expect more in this regard but being an elf/human/dwarf didn't really impact anything; some rare initial dialogue responses, maybe some other minor stuff and that was it.
  18. Heads are pretty detailed. Will the engine let us zoom that much to see those details?
  19. I'd like see some alpha gameplay vids in the project updates. They talked about some classes but I and probably most ppl already had a pretty good idea about what would those classes do/will do. Details are nice but some ingame demonstration with 'crazy Josh talk' can be better IMO. Tho i get if it's too early.
  20. Since I detest magic, I won't be playing with any -heavily- magic/soul related classes on any of my playthroughs. I favored rogue class in this type of rpgs before cos of wide range of additional dialogue options and if this is the case in PoE also, I'll stick with rogue but if not; any physical hitting class will do it for me. I'll be male-human in the first playthrough who behaves like 'chaotic-evil' then a pure 'lawful-good' male-human in the second. And then I'll play around with races and how I behave but not with gender; I can't immerse with playing a female. I'll consider a god-like character but I don't know how magic-heavy the god-like versions will be(both gameplay and appearance-wise) and what are the pros/cons for being one.
  21. I think Obsidian could do better with darker setting than Star Trek. Maybe Farscape, the schizophrenic under-rated tv series' game by the under-rated studio. It has a great name and it was awesome and it fits the great writing talent at Obsidian... I can see it! Are you saying you want them to produce an under-rated game? I'm saying 2 negatives might produce a positive thing =P
