  1. This. I've tried to argue this exact thing on several occasions. There is no "real" reason for them to not be present tho, except for gameplay purposes/see above.
  2. It shouldn't break anything other than immersion, people has been making unlimited companion mods for lots of games so it shouldn't be hard for the devs I think but I don't see it happening and if it somehow happens it'd surely be activated via cheats like in NWN2, it wouldn't be a default feature.
  3. It will work as long as save game location is correct, what Josh said.
  4. Stop spreading lies ffs :D There was preload for Pillars 1, I did preload it. They opened it for preload 2 days before launch IIRC. For steam anyways.
  5. I think I'll be keeping the trio in the party as much as possible with Eder getting priority, I'll swap with the other 4 new ones throughout the game when the area I'm in/NPCs I'm dealing with relevant to them; if I'm dealing with some pirate Serafen will be there, rautains/maia etc. as I always do. I don't think I'll ever put sidekicks in the party tho, not in my first run anyway. My watcher will be single class(Mage Slayer) as well as all the companions in the first run, tho most X class + barb multiclasses looks awfully appealing to me.
  6. I'll play all singles. When I finish my first run there will be a mod for rebalancing the game around multiclassing with no power level deficit...
  7. Since this is even bigger than the first and will have more open progression & NV style factions I expect many---many quest bugs.
  8. Huh. Never knew about that. In spite of all my dislike for DA:O I am sincerely impressed. Not impressive tbh. Cos there is no reason not to save Redcliffe or Leliana from ashes unless you're being evil for the sake of it. What I mean is when you choose to save those things you don't sacrifice anything, no one in anywhere else is getting pissed etc.
  9. I like quests that concludes in an epic gathering of important characters to resolve an issue the most. Like the trial in NWN2, kingsmoot(?) in DAO, armistice meeting in Skyrim etc. Sadly Act 2's end in PoE wasn't good enough.
  10. Seconded, it's an excellent expansion. Thirded. Great stuff and well worth your time! Fourthed. Grabs you way harder than the main game.
  11. I wouldn't mind finding out https://fig-images.imgix.net/https%3A%2F%2Fd3pylr1apgoxnh.cloudfront.net%2Fcampaign_images%2Fimages%2F4fe0face9b598aaad8bfac2e3a3f8098c15f7793%2Foriginal.jpg%3F1485453055?ixlib=rails-2.1.4&w=960&fit=clip&auto=format%2Ccompress&h=540&s=8df39eb32c70e61e8593e52de6ce7dc1 We've only seen one model of each godlike in Deadfire, they look good IMO tho Death Godlike lacks the dark-drippy aura stuff it had in PoE1 tho not all 3 models had it so other variations could still represent the dark-drippy stuff And Godlikes are not supposed to be consistently outlandish f.i. Death Godlikes were always supposed to look a lot weirder than the others. Even their outlandishness varies model to model among the same type of Godlike.
  12. Wow, another one...Would some moderator revoke this dude's thread starting privileges? Pretty please.
  13. They gave the Pillars 1 keys on release eve or something, I'm pretty sure I preloaded the game before release, we'd have rioted here if it was 2 weeks after release, wtf:
  14. Most everyone hates or rather dislikes very specific parts(which aren't the same for everyone) of the beta and its their chance to give feedback now, when its more easier to change stuff in the game for the devs so ofc people will give more feedback on what they want changed. You're just escalating things to whole another 567890 levels.
  15. Well, that's certainly a lot different than what we have been led to believe and I can't see they are making "series of conversations" at the beginning of the game(after CC/in actual gameplay) which would comprehensively cover most of the Pillars 1 choices. Its probably outdated info.
  16. There are insignificant number of vids/viewers and admittedly I skimmed through most of the vids but I didn't particularly noticed any hate/negativity, wtf.
  17. From what they told so far; I gathered that PoE1 decisions will be handled by a separate mod on the main menu rather than in the intro/character creation.(except for selecting which save to use, I guess)
  18. Enemies will have narrow band they can scale up&down so they won't scale to your exact level if the gap is too wide.
  19. They could make a short "story so far" vid if they have the resources for it(with Eder-Aloth and Pallegina narration with snappy remarks ) which they can also put it on youtube, As for details; "custom save maker" could be informative if its questions will have context & event summaries like in Tyranny's Conquest and there'll also be hyperlinks in dialogue to remind us stuff. Don't know if there'd be a need for anything more :/
  20. Sure but its been used in PoE for running and jumping and I think of a light muscled agile body when athletics comes up, no offense to heavy weight athletes. And I know/saw very fat people, no one can call athletic, who are extremely strong, pulling trucks etc. Anyway, it would initially feel weird to me but I'm sure I'd get used to it quickly if athletics were to be used for STR checks in Deadfire.
  21. Someone suggested before that Might should be divided in itself so we'd be able to choose what kinda might we are getting or something like that. Now thinking about it; may not be a bad idea if we were to choose between physical might, spiritual might and a combined one that has both to lesser effect, like how multiclassing works. Tho then the question would be which should govern gun damage?
  22. Ha ha. Lets assume you want to write scripted interaction with option of physical strong character doing something. Please give me different attribute to use... Easy. Athletics. That is LITERALLY what Athletics is. Athletics' been used for situations that'd require agility rather than strength and prolly rightfully so; a fat person is not athletic but can be strong.
