  1. Well, other posters seem to have disproved it.
  2. I read somewhere that they paid a bit of lip service by having him trained by an olympic level archer so as to at least have the correct technique.
  3. I dont really get it either. Weve had ~700 posts of reinventing the wheel to prevent people from resting (to recover abilities) when all that needs to be done is nothing. If you dont want to rest to recover your abilities, dont rest to recover your abilities. Its a single player game, let people play it how they want to.
  4. Per Wiki, hes just a regular guy but she was given the Red Skull's version of the super soldier serum which imparted some abilities.
  5. Ah, but maybe they are still conquering, just peacefully. If they couldnt take you by force, they will take you by putting your economy in their pocket. Would be kind of funny if that was some master plan.
  6. No, because it was present during late medieval Europe, primitive firearms. But you did not need me to explain that to you surely? Also, not much to do with monks, is it? Sure it does. You seem to be of the opinion that only gunpowder made it aboard the boat from Asia, but Monks? Thats crazy!
  7. Do you feel gunpowder guns should also be out what with gunpowder having been created in Asia?
  8. Wasnt there some Bioware scam where a forum ban also bans you from playing the games you purchased? Do they still do that?
  9. Is there a dev post someone can direct me to that says alignment is out? People are saying that but I havent seen it.
  10. Heh, I suppose but that kinda sounds like creative deciphering. I would be surprised if they used that term (alignment) off the cuff. See, to me it just sounds like a mechanic to limit priests power. Kinda like a mages different schools. Keeps the player from having every single spell by making them choose.
  11. It's already been confirmed that there will be no alignment, only reputation with various factions, characters, etc. Doesnt this refute that:
  12. If it helps, my zoom is just defaulted to 100%.
  13. Just a thought: If you dont want to camp, you dont push the camp button. Everyone wins.
  14. Patio burrito, covered in sharp cheddar, doused with a volatile amount of tobasco sauce.
  15. Granted, its been years since Ive played the BG series but I cannot recall ever walking 3 miutes real time to find a place to camp. Usually just walking around the corner will suffice. But if we must use that example then yes, walking three minutes real time or standing in the corner for three minutes while waiting for stuff to come off cooldown is the same. I like to "top off" between battles, not everyone does. How about this concept, if you dont want to top off between battles, you dont push the little camp icon. Mind = blown right? Why do I have to be forced to park my group in a corner and go make a sammich while I wait for my abilities to come off cooldown? I also like to save before big battles because I like every party member to survive every fight and I will reload if one dies. Guess that needs to be stopped too because it doesnt fit the artistic vision? I dont need a game system to save me from myself.
  16. I don't see it as stupid, there were lots of moments, at least in the BG games, where randomness could dominate an encounter instead of the tactics. Nobody likes losing a group wizard to permadeath because the invisibility potion popping rogues decided to team up on him in the second round. And it doesn't seem a good thing to ask the player to jump back half an hour because of it. Or ask him to just deal. If they do try to eliminate swing, I expect lots of calls against "streamlining." I was being sarcastic (which I know is hard to detect in text). I think checkpooint saves are as stupid as limiting when a person can regerate abilities, in single player games.
  17. Wait, isnt that what weve been discussing this whole time? Were people worried about cooldowns within a single encounter? I want to know what happens between encounters to replenish abilities. Then call me on it. Prove me wrong with arguments. Did you quote the wrong person? I dont understand what you are asking of me.
  18. Pretty much. Good. At least the stupid sleep spamming is gone. I always thought it was a ridiculous mechanic. I just hope the game utilizes a checkpoint save mechanic. Its stupid to let people save wherever they want.

  20. Thats one thing I do think hurts D3, the lack of a healer.
  21. Wait... you're a moderator and you posted this? >_ QQ? Really? Whats me being a mod have to do with anything? Do you think we are employees of Obsidian? Or we shouldnt be allowed to post our opinions? I'm sorry - I guess I'm placing too high a standard on being a moderator. I would think a moderator would be one seeking to stay largely agnostic on post content outside of breaking forum rules, and would be someone who, at best, encourages discussion. Describing anyone stating their opinions as "QQ"ing just, well, seems both juvenile and un-moderator-like. It has nothing to do with your given opinion a subject. It has to do with etiquette, decorum and leading by example. Ah, theres your problem.
  22. Wait... you're a moderator and you posted this? >_ QQ? Really? Whats me being a mod have to do with anything? Do you think we are employees of Obsidian? Or we shouldnt be allowed to post our opinions? And as you see above, I was correct.
  23. Thats exactly what I was saying. I could have chosen to gimp my Embermage by ignoring Focus and dumping all my points into Stength. I didnt, but I could have.
  24. Did Obsidian explain how the laws of physics in PE allowed the boobplate to be realistic for the fantasy setting in which some use magic to fight monsters? (Monsters that may or may not use boobplate and may or may not also face mundane attacks from fighters and such) Because I do have the feeling that mundane stuff like metallic armor works basically the same as in our world. Artistic license aside. And pandering to stuff like "I want to look pretty, damned be immersion.". Or fantasy for children like Harry Potter. Maybe Obsidian keeps reading feedback by the backers that take the time to post about the topic, in this case, of cooldowns, and they decide to reconsider because the arguments given are really solid and can fit the design of the game. Or maybe not and they won't fold like a beach chair to the avalanche of QQ. What?
