  1. Does anyone know how the F2P would work on a returning but at one time subscribing player? Could I just log back in (I would obviously need to pick a new server)? Would I be subject to the F2P rules or the paid membership rules? Also, is my toon deleted?
  2. I enjoyed the game well enough during my lone toons run up to 50 (Sith Inquisitor). I played right at release and what killed it for me was the lack of end game content and being unable to muster up / join groups on my server Corellian Run (did that server go away?). I wasnt in a guild and after hitting 50 my gameplay devoled into visiting 2-3 planets that I still had Heroic 4's on and spamming chat LFG. Failing that I would go to the main space station or whatever it was called, spam there for a little while trying to get into flashpoints then giving up and logging off. Not being into PvP, I literally had nothing I could do.
  3. I don't understand where people get the notion that having a character that isn't super powerful or even god like is equal to him being weak or average. Its right there in the poll choice you selected:
  4. 40% want to be normal or weak? Let those who desire to be Joe Average find something else to play--perhaps some sort of Sims game where being mundane is par for the course. I'm hoping Obsidian makes P.E. a far more entertaing game.
  5. I want to be able to lay waste to continents and slay gods, but Im willing to wait for the expansion to get there.
  6. Thanks for the heads up.
  7. You must have been wearing boobplate, which directs all blows to your sternum.
  8. Not actual movies but Ive recently discovered the currently running second season of American Horror Story. Excellent storytelling and last night the missus and I had a marathon (12 episodes) of season one on Netflix. I highly recommend it.
  9. Had to renew my drivers license so I hit the door running at 0700 to get there before the crowds. Passed the test with flying colors but I was too tall for the camera so the lady asked me to bend at the knees and look down a little bit. Worst photo ever.
  10. Can you describe what whale tastes like? Does it taste like beef, pork, chicken or is it a totally unique taste?
  11. I disagree with this because stamina and health do not exist independantly. Any damage taken will affect both stamina and health at the same time. It doesnt matter if you are regerating stamina, whether by equipment, abilities, running in circles, etc..., because you are not regenerating health. You can be at full stamina and still die to a single blow if your health is low. If you didnt start losing health until your stamina was at zero than I would agree but the system as stated doesnt work like that and to me, this system seems like more micromanagement.
  12. I dont see why it would only apply to boss fights. Damage is damage is damage. Without a way to heal in the field it becomes a simple matter of attrition. But yes, I hope they figure it out.
  13. Yes, it did, any you and I have vastly different takes on what is fun. I understand your above examples were extreme to make your point but all you have to do is glace at your combat text to see if your attacks are having any affect (unless thats removed too ) and adjust accordingly. Its even still within the realm of roleplaying as its completely reasonable that your character would notice ineffective attacks. You also ignore the fact that HEALTH ONLY GOES DOWN. I doesnt matter how brilliant you are when everyones sitting a 1-2 hp. At that point a single hit will kill you regardless of you being at full stamina. You have no choice but to leave, rest and return. Its not up to skill, any successful attack against you and youre dead. If I have to do anything 100 times in PE to learn it then the game is irretrievably broken. And I dont need a punitive mechanics to teach me Im doing something wrong, thats what dying does. I respect your playstyle but thats not for me.
  14. No, see above. Thats what I was responding to. Im not sure I follow you. You are saying that deciding to push forward or not is tactical (1st paragraph) but what are you saying is not tactical (second paragraph)? Also, another great way to prevent rest spamming is to choose not to push the rest button. Look, I know Im screwed here. There isnt going to be any difficulty level that adds a healer class, or healing spells, or potions, or resurrection, but at least a fellow can dream that there will be a "free rest" option that allows resting wherever you want and that will prevent the game from sucking the life out of me by the fiftieth time I have to hump back 3 map screen to get to the closest inn to rest, just so I can walk all the way back to where I was. Can someone give me a logical reason why that sounds like fun? I mean that seriously.
  15. Huh, I did not know that.
  16. I wonder why they dont still use that prison what with overcrowding and all. Probably inefficient / too expensive to run and maintain.
  17. Absolutely. Except in PE there is no healer to go to and no healing devices to use. You must rest to get all better (health) and you can only do that in certain locations. I know a lot of you guys love the idea of having to stop progressing so you can walk out of the dungeon and across the map to get back to the town that had the inn, but I honestly dont understand why that sounds fun. Different strokes for different folks I guess. I sure hope the "normal" difficulty level doesnt operate this way.
  18. How is that tactical at all? How do "better players" limit health damage? Do casual players stand around in their underwear while "better" players remember to put on their armor? What?
  19. Im in favor of resting, just not having to hump back to some "safe spot" to rest. Thats unfun for the sake of replacing a mechanic that works fine. In prior IE games you could rest (almost) anywhere you wanted.
  20. But party characters dont take damage one at a time. Assuming this plays anything like prior IE games than all party characters will be simultaneously fighting and presumably taking damage. Totally viable except: "Because combat will usually be more dominant than any single other means of conflict resolution..." seems to indicate non-combat resolutions will be occasional, not predominant. I think thats a given by this point but I suppose players could choose that very narrow approach if they like. These exist? Source?
  21. Ah, I see what youre saying and that makes sense. But what do you do when your health is sitting at 1-2 hp? You have no choice other than to trek back to a safe spot.
  22. How can they take more punishment? Stamina and health are tied together in a fixed ratio (4:1) and health only goes down. You can be at full stamina and still die to a returning frost dart.
  23. We can discuss made up "maybe" scenarios if you like but my comments are based on what the lead developer has stated as fact: 1) There is no healing magic. 2) Healing can only be accomplished by resting. 3) There is no resurrection. Its all right there in the OP interview. If resting can be done anywhere at will than Im fine with that.
