  1. I think it would be better if they did it so that you can have guilty decisions, decisions which actually would make you feel something, rather than just option a,b,c which do nothing to the player.
  2. I won't be, at least if 'Dark' stands for 'Evil.' I hope no races will be based upon being intrinsically good or bad. If there does turn out to be a 'dark' vs. 'light' divide in P:E elves, it should be about something other than their stance on kicking puppies. how bout just being inversely related to the standard elves? So they are not particularily attuned to nature, not aloof, expansionistic, etc
  3. I would like to see more western inspiration in monks, I am getting tired of seeing purely Oriental inspired monks
  4. well there could also be a Mage guild who help regrow trees and such, do seismic work, and other nature related activities
  5. I would appreciate it if the world isn't static in terms of keys and such. For example in Arcanum you could loot the one shop keeper for all he was worth, wait a couple days and do it again, or sell him unidentified stuff and he would identify them, and you just grabbed them out of the chest. I would greatly enjoy it if you could do the same thing, but after a while the shop keep would change locks, and become harder to pick pocket, and maybe if you do it a few more times he would hire bounty hunters, or police presence would increase around his shop
  6. arcanum was clever in this, by having a very good reason why it would never happen. In fact playing a mage I went into a factory in Tarant and got told to get the F out
  7. I would like it to be so that everything you do isn't instantly known, so like if you are ambushing people in a forest and one gets away, then your rep can fall with another faction, not just be automatic
  8. nope, but the dents in the helmets may have something to do with it haha
  9. it isn't possible to get more stoned than Yoda, hell the man is so out of his mind he can't speak sentences in proper order
  10. Where is this example from? that is kinda like the Arcanum bad guy, whom *SPOILERS* wants to destroy all life because as a necromancer he talked to the dead and saw the eternal suffering they endured, so he wanted to end it once and for all type deal.
  11. I like this idea, the songs would fit well since you can have bards or whatever
  12. people always mention it because it is the bottom of the barrel, absolute worst, and by mentioning it (with disgust) they can give the developers (if they read this) some of an idea about what people like / don't like
  13. this and having capable AI to use as captains, instead of being in direct control
  14. I would just rather not have classes, make it classless (unless you build to make a typical class (which I usually do not do))
  15. I always loved having Necromancy in games, especially if there where 'white' magics that a person could play with.
  16. I liked when Torian Kel (Arcanum) betrayed because the main bad guy offered a solution to his predicament. but yeah you need some hints and tips that the NPC don't like whats happening or a possible betrayal. Where if you go after a bunch of thieves or something and they try to convince people in your group to defect, etc.
  17. Well, part of the problem comes in when they design quests around the quest marker instead of treating it as a once in a while hint system. Another problem is that GPS markers destroy an entire aspect of gameplay involved in questing. That is, it totally removes actually searching and questing. I think it depends on the quest, if it is something that could shown on a map like lets say "we need to destroy these seige weapons" then you can show them on the GPS, if it is something like "go gather x number of this" then definately not I highly doubt we will get many "go gather x number of this". If not I will be very disappointed. well that was just a example, a better one would be go find buddy in the woods he is usually be his cabin in the woods to the north (then no marker)
  18. persuasion, I love it when I can open up new dialogue (but there cannot be no % success indicators, you should just have to choose a thing to say and figure out if it is going to work based on how you read the situation.)
  19. best villain of all games has to be the one from Arcanum. Who simply wanted to end chaoticness by destroying all life. (also if you had the right companion, he would turn on you at this point, after offering you the chance to join the bad guys side and destroy the earth)
  20. on a side note, I think that this would open too much opportunity for information to leak also. They will want to release measure dosages to our addiction, and having others input could put that in jeopardy
  21. I liked Arcanums system, the only drawback being that fighting (melee and ranged) was just hold down the button and swing until one or the other dies (or outfatigues) but you could equip any gear at any level, with no huge + (main stat), with few exceptions. Making your character build more important because it gave different bonuses to certain stats and detracted from others.
