Great Post, I would send it straight to BAlder or something lol. But it quite obvious, the backs for PoE are a special kind, that care much more then the usual kind of backer /prepurchaser you would otherwise normally find. This game was vague, and not even close to being made when we backed, but we had been waiting for years for it. Well, we waited over a decade to have the opportunity to get our sentiments about old interplay and blackisles games out and get them coming back. I think Obsidian didn't expect to see so much attention from us, or care coming from so many. I wish they would partially fund the Expansion the same way. I want a expansion thats large, like mask of the betrayer. ToB and ToSC for me were kind of small, and I couldn't evenb tell they were really expansions most of the time. The expansion was partially funded that way, there was an option to add $20 to your pledge for the expansion.

For the record: I strongly disagree with everything that was said in this post. In this day and age PR needs to happen, even if done by streamers that shouldn't be allowed anywhere within a mile of a camera. It's a fast way to get the word out about the game. Anything that sells the game is good for us, it means more money for expansions and sequels. Obsidian has also explained why the game can't be unlocked quicker for the backers, please read the dev trackers, here's one for you: http://poedevtracker.net/ That said, I love you guys (and girls) at Obsidian, please give us more games.

Steam vs GoG redemption ?
Moirnelithe replied to endruwiggin's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Both. But at first I'll play on steam for the updates that are bound to be distributed earlier there. -
- I will have hundreds of saves before the end of the game, just in case. Even though I rarely load anything other than the quicksave (I hit the maximum of 250 saves, archived them and then made a few dozen more by the end of DA:I and I didn't even like that game) - I have to make screenshots of everything that seems important if I think it's unlikely I'll replay the game.... I made 11.000 screenshots in DA:I. Hopefully I'll be too engrossed in PoE to bother to make any, I haven't made any of the beta which is a good sign!) - I have to be able to play a female character and said character has to be elven and pretty (thankfully the elven portraits are pretty), in rare cases I'll go for human. The godlike look awesome but I doubt I'll play them - class has to be a mage-ish type or rogue-ish one - health needs to be at or close to 100% most of the time... I worry about unexpected encounters I won't be able to win after which i'll have to reload a much earlier save (not likely, see first point but well I never said I was rational....) - everything else mentioned in this thread Looking back that's kind of worrying

If the game is gold....
Moirnelithe replied to Halsy's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I'm fine with having to wait for the game to release. I would really like some lore to read though in preparation of creating a character. I've found some snippets here and there from the guidebooks, reading all of the lore once the books released would take a while and it would be nice to be able to start playing the game at release date. (I'm also getting a bit bored with gnomoria and have no other games lined up ) -
New female elf portrait

The top elf is far prettier and more detailed, the bottom one looks half finished, I don't see the resemblance -
Countdown to Eternity!
Moirnelithe replied to Mikey Dowling's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Announcements & News
Is it possible to do a manipulative (smart) evil playthrough or are we supposed to be playing the heroic or morally ambiguous (or mostly stupid evil) type? I've read that you're not using D&D alignments but a reputation system, however things like that could still be weighted towards 'light' side choices. -
The Official Romance Thread
Moirnelithe replied to Blarghagh's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
The Solas romance in DA:I actually adds to the impact of the main story, I think Bioware really did that rather well. And while I find that game to be a drag to play because of the mmo filler quests and the truly terrible PC controls, that particular romance is why I'm still playing it. Romance can make a game better. -
A Proposition for Improving Combat Interface Feedback
Moirnelithe replied to Gairnulf's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
I'd like to chime in that although you might think that set of buttons is redundant, others such as myself vehemently disagree. I use them and I would rather not want to see them gone. -
He has a bit of a point though. Any plot holes or dialogue/quest bugs/problems with character story progression won't be caught this way, it's all systems testing. But then again by the time the game is released we'd all be sick of replaying the first part surely. I know I can't stand playing Irenicus' dungeon ever again (thank you modders for Dungeon Be Gone!).

I have low standards regarding combat since I mostly play for the story and character development. If it doesn't confuse the hell out of me I'm pretty much happy. Unfortunately PoE combat completely baffles me which results in putting the game on easy and letting all the chars wack the enemy on auto-attack (gave up on spellcasting in disgust after wiping my own party with the AoE's a little too often).
