Is the complaint that the majority of the talents are uninteresting, or not powerful enough? From my perspective a talent tree is useful if it allows you to tailor your character to be noticeably different from another build. They don't really need to be super novel or very powerful to be useful in game play terms.

Perhaps every godlike should have one non-scaling and one scaling ability? The former would be useful against low level foes and the later starts off weak but becomes ever more useful over time.

If there is a heirarchy or wider set of deities "available" in the Eora universe, it could be that Engwithan deities who die off or fade away may end up supplanted by older gods who assume their guise as a convenience. Those older gods may have a different agenda though, and could be much more powerful and difficult to depose.

So that all of the character builds will be viable; you won't end up locking yourself into a non-viable character design. Otherwise, do you design for the lowest common denominator and make the game too easy for everybody else? No, a certain amount of balance is necessary. That being said though, it would be enjoyable to have some non-critical path quests be particularly favorable to certain builds.

I'm concerned about how many tweaks it is going to take to the final release before it is considered "in balance". Will it take months of feedback? Years? The game play for the initial release will be completely different from the ultimate balanced version, even more so than PoE was.

Well this may seem heretical *cough* but I think they should leave it this way, along with excluding certain custom subclasses. At a minimum, it provides room for unique characters like Pallegina that can't be reproduced through your character builds.

At first glance the Death godlike bonus would seem to synergize fairly well with the monk class. Take lots of endurance damage to power up your abilities, then strike hard when you're at your lowest.

Will this release include schedule-driven NPC behavior?

Today's bit of political irony: Trump, who pays next to no taxes, is complaining that Amazon doesn't pay enough taxes. Heh. Funny though, I get socked for sales taxes every time I shop there. Does the guy (Trump) have an ounce of statesmanship in his rather large body? We might need a dedicated medical team to spot it.
