  1. I'm going to let a lot of time pass before I replay PoE again; the less I recall of the minutiea, the more enjoyable the replay.
  2. Sigh. I've no doubt people dislike the resting system. I didn't say otherwise. I said I doubt any significant number of people actually went back to town regularly during dungeons to resupply in PoE1. I didn't. I mean who wastes their time by going back and forth each time they need to rest? Who enjoys that? I'll take "Who are people who enjoy a challenge?" for 100, Alex. Who enjoys a long hike where you never have to carry anything, deal with obstacles, plan ahead, or enjoy the scenery?
  3. Plus you get to haul around all of your survival gear and get quasi-strip searched by the guards.
  4. Hey, it is about food.
  5. Sorry, I don't speak Arabic. But I'll bet it's hilarious in Marseilles.
  6. Yes, I played just enough to get a taste of the game. Then I stopped and moved on to other things. At least until most of the major patches have been released. There's no point in trying to enjoy it yet if the goal posts are going to keep shifting. No big deal.
  7. I fully agree. As far as new releases of detailed cRPGs go, this one seems pretty decent right out of the gate. I think they should be congratulated for releasing a fully playable game of this scope, rather than being cursed for the moderate number of bugs that will always appear in new releases. Perfect is the enemy of the good -- better to make it available in an imperfect form than hold it back until every last flaw is fixed.
  8. That's a good thing, if only from the perspective of events having consequences.
  9. This morning I started thinking about what titles certain well-known individuals would have if they had superhero powers. I finally came to Trump. Perhaps a Captain of some sort? No, that's not grand enough to hold his superpowered ego. He has to be a General of some sort. General Chaos Perfect.
  10. There was a wedding?
  11. Yes, dungeons don't have to be vertical to be big. An expanse of ancient, cursed ruins could be just as enjoyable.
  12. The rest-like mechanic is a resource management element. You could abstract away virtually every element of the game, but the more you do so, the less it feels like the PnP role-playing experience. I'd rather have some obstacles in there like resource management to feel like I'm getting a challenge. In fact I'd have preferred to see more of that in PoE; the game system caters to the lazy IMO.
  13. Yeah, there's a lot of rumbling about the low difficulty right now, so I wouldn't be surprised to see a significant patching to address that. It sounds like some noisy whinners during the beta test period had a little too much influence.
  14. My favorites are multi-class implementation and a broader selection of skills. These provide a vastly broader range of character building choices, so we're more likely to be able to build the type of character we want.
  15. https://www.wired.com/story/congress-latest-move-to-extend-copyright-protection-is-misguided/ Pardon my French, but can you say "Disney's bitches". Bend over congress and take it from Mickey.
  16. Claudius33, the author of three previous 16 Cygni HoF modules, has just released an early version of 16 Cygni: Strike Back, available here: https://neverwintervault.org/project…ni-strike-back This module introduces sci-fi/modern elements to the NWN2 Fantasy system. If you give it a try, please provide feedback to the author. Thank you.
  17. I suspect a big part of the dislikes is that many people aren't used to a female narrator, preferring the authority of the deeper masculine voice. Personally I think she's great. It was a nice change-up from the expected.
