Where are the dungeons?
rjshae replied to yoyolll's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Yes, dungeons don't have to be vertical to be big. An expanse of ancient, cursed ruins could be just as enjoyable.

Why Is Resting/Injuries and Maybe Even Supplies, Still In At All?
rjshae replied to whiskiz's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)The rest-like mechanic is a resource management element. You could abstract away virtually every element of the game, but the more you do so, the less it feels like the PnP role-playing experience. I'd rather have some obstacles in there like resource management to feel like I'm getting a challenge. In fact I'd have preferred to see more of that in PoE; the game system caters to the lazy IMO.

Some ideas to make the game better
rjshae replied to BaalHammon's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Yeah, there's a lot of rumbling about the low difficulty right now, so I wouldn't be surprised to see a significant patching to address that. It sounds like some noisy whinners during the beta test period had a little too much influence.

Admirable Design Decisions
rjshae replied to Verde's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)My favorites are multi-class implementation and a broader selection of skills. These provide a vastly broader range of character building choices, so we're more likely to be able to build the type of character we want.

- 16 Cygni: Strike Back
Claudius33, the author of three previous 16 Cygni HoF modules, has just released an early version of 16 Cygni: Strike Back, available here: https://neverwintervault.org/project…ni-strike-back This module introduces sci-fi/modern elements to the NWN2 Fantasy system. If you give it a try, please provide feedback to the author. Thank you.- The voiced narrator is really distracting.
rjshae replied to Verenti's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I suspect a big part of the dislikes is that many people aren't used to a female narrator, preferring the authority of the deeper masculine voice. Personally I think she's great. It was a nice change-up from the expected.- Funny Posts - New and Improved with Same Great Taste
- No Endless Paths style Dungeon in POE 2?
rjshae replied to mjo2138's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)The Endless Paths being a product of the Kickstarter process made it non-optimal in my mind. While the overall idea was good in principle, it should have been developed more organically without the arbitrary constraints imposed by the Social Media counters and so forth.- The Weird, Random or Interesting Things That Fit Nowhere Else Thread

- Where are the dungeons?
rjshae replied to yoyolll's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)but..it's a ship . So not that many level to it no? Hence the word 'giant'. If it was built by non-humans, who knows how large it could get? Maybe it's an ancient floating city willed with strange wonders?- Where are the dungeons?
rjshae replied to yoyolll's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Perhaps there will be some in the upcoming DLC? How about a giant haunted ship dungeon?- Where are the dungeons?
rjshae replied to yoyolll's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Given the nature of the environment and the culture, I wasn't expecting many dungeons, and especially not many large ones. Islands just aren't good locations for large underground constructions -- there's too much risk of flooding. Instead, the sea is now the dungeon crawl.- Reselect Class Choice for Companion
rjshae replied to Nemesis7884's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Isn't there a respec feature in the tavern? At least for the companions. I haven't looked into the details yet.- Fisto's alive!

Cover your eyes, Grandma...- Anyone else kind of regretting multiclassing?
rjshae replied to master guardian's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I did a mix of single classed and multi-classed party members, figuring things will balance themselves out over the long haul.- Funny Posts - New and Improved with Same Great Taste
- Ideas for a quick and dirty PoE3
rjshae replied to IndiraLightfoot's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)With the multi-classsing added in, a single-character game seems more feasible now. Perhaps with some variant of first-person perspective in a sandbox setting? It might make for an interesting interlude before a return to the PoE 1&2 format.- Funny Posts - New and Improved with Same Great Taste
- Ideas for a quick and dirty PoE3
rjshae replied to IndiraLightfoot's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Isn't Josh Sawyer looking to take a break after PoE 2? A third game in the series may be a ways off, if ever. - Funny Posts - New and Improved with Same Great Taste
