I'm curious why the free DLC is being released as free DLC, rather than just patch content. Does the concept of free DLC provide more publicity?

From what I've seen thus far it's being fairly well received -- certainly enough to warrant further expansions and sequels.

Higher level powers (10+); transcendant souls (become a divine creature of some sort); unique magical forms (necromancy; crystalmancy; shadowmancy, &c.); more potent enemies; new environments; different strongholds for different PC classes; magical ammunition; sandbox environments; flying/swimming/underwater action; modding toolset.

How about a quest to provide an animated form for the intelligent weapon, then make her a full companion?

I don't think Beauty should be a primary attribute, but perhaps it could be included as a Background? You're renowned for your physical beauty, and life has been easier for you as a result. Because of your well-balanced physique and attractive overall appearance, you get a bonus to Athletics, Diplomacy, and Bluff (plus the occasional special conversation option).

The game has an M rating for blood and gore, nudity, sexual themes, strong language, and violence. If I'm playing a game with an M rating, I expect content with an M rating. If the sex theme is objectionable, the OP should avail him/herself of games with more preferable ratings.

The god-like can't bear children, so perhaps their libido is diminished?

Sigh. I've no doubt people dislike the resting system. I didn't say otherwise. I said I doubt any significant number of people actually went back to town regularly during dungeons to resupply in PoE1. That may depend a lot on the difficulty level you are playing PoE. The allowed supplies decreased with difficulty, thereby adding to the challenge. On normal difficulty, there were only a couple of instances where I felt compelled to return to town to stock up. Most of the time the loot acquired through exploration supplied the requisite supplies. But I'd imagine many of the players making a PotD run will already be intimately familiar with the camping supply locations, so they can plan accordingly.

Josh has said that's not the reason. They did it the way they did because it was proving too complicated to allow full customizability for companions. He said they aren't ruling out changing it in the future. Ah, okay. Thanks for the clarification.

I suspect they want the companions to have behaviors that fit with their persona and philosophy. Limiting the class choices may enhance that.

Something I wouldn't mind seeing in the future is a stronger connection between your Survival/Alchemy skills and the collection of useful plants. Right now I just constantly click on anything glowy in the hope that some day it might prove useful. But wouldn't it be more meaningful if those plants would only become clickable in the first place if you had the necessary Survival skill rank to identify them? Maybe have a little effect go off when I notice a plant worth collecting so it catches your eye. It would at least make the chore a little more interesting, and provide a little reward if you pass back through a cleared area.

I'm going to let a lot of time pass before I replay PoE again; the less I recall of the minutiea, the more enjoyable the replay.
