The resting in the stronghold is terrible design
Yeah, the Stronghold really shows as one of those stretch goals that they just threw in there that they were talking about in the doc.

Sick Goblin in Endless Paths
Goblins are not Kobolds. I mean, this is important.

Didn't you just like a post saying we shouldn't bring this stuff up if we don't want it to be a thing?

The Gamespot review
And going further: Torment's plot is really rather bland and even cliche. What makes it soar is the story.

Should discussion about The Poem be ... censored?
The issue has not only been resolved, it has been resolved with the help of the original backer. This is not a free speech issue. It is not a censorship issue. It never was.

The Gamespot review
Depends on what kind of game it is. Some games are designed from story on up, and they can and do sell well if done properly. Nobody lost money on Planescape: Torment. Read the original design doc for Torment. It was very much designed with gameplay as a huge factor, moreso than what we actually ended up with. Being able to rip off limbs and use them as clubs? Yes please. What is your point? Both it and PoE were built story first and gameplay second, but in both cases gameplay was also a priority and came out quite good as well. If gameplay was not a priority, Josh Sawyer would not have worked so hard at making a new system. The idea that gameplay is not a priority in a game is... that's something, man. You don't need to sacrifice gameplay in order for the story to be good. You're not reading a book.

The point being that neither can overtake the other. And ultimately? Gameplay will always trump story in a design sense.

It's a game. A game you play. Gameplay is the most important thing. I'm not going to shell out $44 for story.

Dragon Age: Inquisition
It's still fun. The new area is super neat and the art direction for it is outstanding, where the Frostbacks meet the Kocari Wilds. Just expect to be a little confused as to why this area is important to the overall story. I mean, it has an in to the main story, but sadly, it for some reason does not use it at all. At least, it downplays its connection to the main story.

He gave Dragon Age Inquistion a better score with its laughable story and cartoonish world. That's the point. For that matter he gave Divinity: Original Sin a better score despite again having a vastly inferior story and vastly inferior world. Dude has bad taste, or simply doesn't play these kinds of games for the story and setting which is just bizarre. Well... on a technical level, both games are better than PoE.

Dragon Age: Inquisition
Not very. The only real disappointing thing is that the main plot of Hakkon is completely separate from the main plot of the base game.

Character Race is not enforced when choosing stats
This really needs to be detailed in further products. One of my big pet peeves about Chargen was that customization didn't really matter.

PoE 2 merging with Poe 1 would be awesome
Considering the cap is level 12 for a reason, it's pretty safe to say PoE 2 is a continuation of the story.

Update 93: Patch 1.03 - Important Community Fixes
How does an easily missable memorial put in the game just for fun make you feel ripped off? Regardless of "right opinons" or whatever, you're basically saying you feel ripped-off because a line of text has been changed.

Reduce the Loading Times...
Loading times are a tad more complex than a quick fix, as well.

Realistic dates for PoE 2
Given that the PoE ExPack is most likely at least in pre-prod for the expansion, when does everyone bet we would see a highly probably Pillars of Eternity II? E3 is June 16-18. It would be ridiculous not to at least announce the expansion then. I'm going to place it at a December release, January 2016 at latest. Given that PoE 2 would take a lot more work than an ExPack, but minus time for the lore, story, and engine already existing, I feel confident in hypothetically staking a claim in the April 2017 - July 2017 timeframe. Let the great guessing game begin!

[Ending Spoilers, sequel speculations] Are the gods...
Yeah, I concur that the series is definitely headed towards a Godwar. I don't expect the expansion to heavily raise the stakes or broaden the scope, but I fully expect PoE 2 to.

Killing backer NPCs for loot causes reputation loss now?
Honestly, though, randomly killing citizens should lower your rep.

If PoE was made using Skyrim's engine...
I'd actually now be interested in seeing this. Huh. This would actually be good experience in Unreal 4.

Number of Watchers in Eora
Yeah, PoE makes it very clear you are not a Chosen One, but rather a member of a specific group.
