  1. Darksiders takes a long time to get to the actual meat of the game. It's a standard action RPG until you get to the first tower, in which it becomes Zelda.
  2. Do not make me laugh. You can roleplay all you want, but within the context of the world, it makes no sense to do so.
  3. Everyone loves to demonize devs or pubs for doing this kind of stuff, but it takes people buying it to make it happen. And how someone spends their money does not hurt you at all. I have yet to see the "Apocalypse Scenario" where a game is tailored to people that buy DLC. It won't happen. Pubs might love making money, but they are not stupid. Neither are devs that put in this stuff. And it's all unlockable anyway. So basically, people are just paying to unlock stuff earlier than others.
  4. Yup, I'm sure the problem is that Obsidian just has not shipped your package yet. I'm sure that's it.
  5. Are you... trying to imply Obsidian is forcing you to buy Unity?
  6. Oh God, let's please not go down the "I'm not calling you stupid, just that the types of games you play are made for stupid people" route.
  7. I think MP would be great, but as far as the scope of this game, there is none. Who knows about sequels. If there were, it wouldn't be included in an expansion, I'd think.
  8. Oh, I get it. You don't want an actual discussion. You just want to feel morally superior.
  9. OMG THIS IS GOLD.
  10. They also made the "Thanks for no gays" thread, so probably.
  11. I somehow am surprised you're writing this claptrap.
  12. I hope this means we get far less esoteric stories.
  13. I'll just leave this here. Link primary sources, not secondary. http://www.giantbomb.com/articles/the-little-fighting-game-that-could/1100-4587/ I hope the extra money raised went into staff salaries, because they're not making all that much on that budget. Not my point. My point is people don't know what they are talking about.
  14. Well, Gaider is out and Weekes is in as lead writer.
  15. Don't see why this is an issue.
  16. Er, yes it is. The Kickstarter 'making of' doc explicitly features employees discussing the prospect of closing the company if something didn't turn up. They made the commercial realities behind the project part of the story. Not us. Um, well yeah. Budget, finances are a part of any development story. Individual pay, though?
  17. My GFX card is already becoming outdated. lol
  18. Although, looking at those pics - I need to just watch streams on Twitch. My mind is going "It's only $59.99, and I did make $60 today".
  19. To be fair, they rather did paint themselves into a corner by announcing an expansion in the Kickstarter. I wouldn't expect it to be really in-depth. In b4 "the expansion is coming out in two parts, just like Broken Age".
  20. Fantasy only takes place on Earth when it implies as much. How many fantasy novels take place on other planets? We don't like to think about that because it "breaks immersion", but this is what I love so much about the Elder Scrolls Chronicles (especially Skyrim where this is extremely apparent) and Dragonriders of Pern (which is a fantastic take on this very concept). Seriously, Elder Scrolls has never been shy about how Nirn is another planet, but bring that up to any player, and they will go nuts.
  21. I'll probably pick it up next month depending on how much I get from my current job (that looks like it may last a week less than I thought, a little disappointing but not unexpected).
  22. That's because they needed the money, not because they said "well, F publishers". If they didn't need Kickstarter, they wouldn't use it.
  23. Everyone needs to stop acting like "mass audience" and "sales" are somehow different goals for a for-profit company.
