  1. the prequels are based on novels from what i ve heard, and for some reason, they kept out of the movies all the parts that were relevant to a sensible plot for example the escape from naboo in the first movie, was supposed to be done by hiding the ship in the sensor shadow of an enemy cargo ship and sneaking past. in the movie to make it more spectacular, they made a frontal assault and then ran for it
  2. i just finished RAGE that i got in the last steam sale. it's the classical definition of a "could have been" game. i started state of decay... so far it's more than a bit confusing (hell, even dont starve with it's complete lack of any form of player assistance is more easy to understand) but i like it.
  3. How the hell does that thing work to begin with? It's like putting a bunch of pigeons in a car and they making it lift if they were all flying at the same time. Did i miss something? if you put enough birds...
  4. it's called a placeholder... they did not have a portrait for him ready so they put in a random one just for it to be there probably i hope
  5. it's barely the first 10 minutes of the game and works mostly as a tutorial. i wouldn't worry too much from just this
  6. There's no evidence of this. Yes, if everyone bought a game payed higher prices it would be better for people who make the games, but there is no evidence that everyone who buys at steam sale price would buy it at full price. there are many games that i got on steam sale that i would never buy at full price... ie RAGE there are also games that i would buy full price but i could not afford them at the time, so i got them on sale. ie Arkham series but if i really want a game and have the money for it, i buy it day 1. ie Deus Ex: HR i think most people do it like this
  7. i can understand not realizing that the guy is Spielberg, i can understand not making the connection to Jurasic Park, i can understand non knowing that the dinosaur is a prop from a movie... but how can they not realize that since dinosaurs went extinct before humans even existed, it is impossible for a human to have killed one and taken a picture
  8. obviously they will sign the first version of the box, then scan it at very high resolution and reprint it with the signatures on. i dont think they plan to spend entire days signing by hand all boxes. just like signed world cup balls are mass produced and sold. no player would sit there signing thousands of balls, they scan his signature then print it on the ball
  9. no it was confirmed. all actions except moving have a sort of cooldown... or delay between repetition. if you send your fighter to attack, he will swing his sword, then he will wait 2s and then swing again. the bar being filled indicates the passing of these 2s. if you move the character while it charges, the charging pauses
  10. im almost at the end of unepic and it goes from good to better with every line of dialogue. i also gave a little trial run on divinity original sin that i just got from my ks backing. seems nice but i havent even played it for an hour so i cant make any judgements yet
  11. and this is the most important part. by having an IP of their own, they can use it to make any kind of game they want within that setting (with proper adjustments even a AAA multiplatform game)
  12. you cant make a spell casting fighter, but you can make an intelligent fighter that can hold several enemies in a deadlock or you can make a strong fighter that does a lot of damage or a resilient fighter that can outtank a dragon or a stealthy fighter that can move undetected in the middle of the enemy group and then draw all attention to himself while the spell casters wreak havoc undisturbed or any combination of the above
  13. Yes, Critical Defense would still apply. Carnage doesn't use special animations, just the standard attacks. It would be too expensive to animate special Carnage variants for all weapon types. The number of enemies that can be affected by Carnage depends on how close together they are and how high the barbarian's Int is. Carnage hits can cause Interrupts, yes. However, because barbarians have a lower base Accuracy than other melee classes, and Interrupt chance is influenced by Grazes and Crits, they will tend to cause Interrupts less often per hit compared to a fighter, rogue, or paladin with equivalent gear/attributes/level. you could add a subbtle effect like the one used in dota2 for attacks with a battlefury equiped
  14. i think yes. i dont remember if there was an official statement for it, but most people were in favor in a poll just after ks finished.
  15. all of the poll options at the same time cryptic reference leads to a quest, that needs you to pass some sort of puzzle and fight some enemies and then you kill the boss. somewhere in the boss room there is a chest with the item. doing all of the above is the obvious but time consuming part
  16. when i backed torment, i got a tier that contained a copy of wasteland 2 that i did not back in it's day (didnt even know of kickstarted until PE). but as with Divinity OS i ll keep myself off the beta to avoid spoilers
  17. that about the exchange is nice but it wont be needed most of the time. if im in Dyrwood and i have some Ducs along with any other coin types, i ll just use the Ducs. anyway, for this game the system works fine... after all complex does not mean complicated, nor should it
  18. if you have currency from various placces, you pay with the apropriate currency at shops... the system just makes the choice automatic. however a system with multiple currencies without an abstraction to automate its use in trade would be nice in a sandbox mmo
  19. Yay! Although I'd prefer it if they didn't convert, I can see why they did that. It always bugged me, though, how the entire world all used exactly the same coins, that had exactly the same value, for everything. It still means you'll be able to travel to the country based on feudal Japan, and your currency will be accepted there - I would prefer it if you had to keep track of lots of different coins for different areas, but that's just me being uber-hardcore, and I understand that this will just inconvenience 99% of players without adding anything to the game. actually you could... since money was made of silver and gold, you could just use your gold coins. let's say you wanted to buy something worth 2 local gold coins. the merchant would put 2 of his coins on a scale and match the weight with yours. often of course that lead to one side stealing the other since each country used a different alloy of gold+other metal to make coins.
  20. now i just need saltpeter to make bullets, a bottle to make a molotov and i can make a spike trap
  21. guns do the most damage of all weapons in the game and can pierce magic defenses, however they have low base accuracy and long reload times. so they are mostly 1 shot per battle, because your party will be dead by the time they finish reloading for the second shot
