  1. I'm guessing between KS and Paypal we hit $3m today. $3.5 is possible, especially given the end-of-campaign bump, but definitely not a given.
  2. I'm all for it. If I hadn't just gotten my student loans this month I wouldn't have been able to pledge a cent.
  3. According to the Q&A thread, Paypal is at $46k, which means that PE has hit $2.9 combined! The stronghold is as good as ours!
  4. Anybody have an idea of where Paypal is at? I'm guessing with that and Kickstarter combined it's got to be around 2.9m at this point.
  5. All music by Powerglove. I know Chris would geek out for this, bigtime.
  6. I really think Obsidian know what they're going for and having more money wouldn't force them out of their comfort zone. I'd actually argue the opposite - the level of interest they've received actually validates their opinion that there is a market for IE-style games. Why mess with that formula when it's clearly what they've been preaching?
  7. Not a big fan of minigames, but I won't complain if they're included.
  8. Regardless of Vin, it doesn't look like there's a lot of Twitter talk about PE. I've been trying to repost things with the #projecteternity tag, but there aren't many over the last 12 hours. Spreading the word that way might help.
  9. The likes are for the Obsidan page, not the Kickstarter account. http://www.facebook.com/obsidian is currently at 19,128 likes.
  10. At first I wasn't super into the "big city" goal, and definitely preferred the stronghold idea. However, I'm definitely on board after thinking about it more. Wish I had more cash to pledge!
  11. Very excited for this, paladin has always been my favorite class. Onward and upward!
  12. I've already added the strategy guide and expansion on to my $50 pledge, which is probably as high as I can go unless they add something really cool. Having extra copies isn't something I'm willing to shell out more cash for, unfortunately.
  13. So we get an unannounced bonus goal? Fantastic. Hitting $2.2m (I assume) and 50,000 backers on the same day is pretty cool as well.
  14. Despite digging some "fantasy" armor (see DAO and the yes, tin can look), I really like the concept art. I'd be really pleased if that was the overall direction for this game.
  15. So OP, why exactly did you look into PE in the first place? It's obviously not what you're looking for, "immersion" wise. There are tons of first-person RPGs out there, wouldn't one of those be more worth your time?
  16. This is great news. I use Steam for a lot of stuff, but having GOG is a fantastic alternative.
  17. I have to say, it seems rather greedy to me that you'd rather this segment of the userbase have no access so you can get more content. I'm all for a Linux port, and I'm a set-in-my-ways Windows user. The more people that have access to the game, the better it will do...which means more opportunities for future expansion.
  18. I still find it ridiculous that EA's accounts are tied to their forums for this very reason. I didn't like DAII, but saying so shouldn't mean I lose access to my other games.
  19. I feel like this, along with Shadowstriker's post here, present interesting alternatives to the standard RPG equipment dynamic. I'd really dig having items that mean something to the character as opposed to just looking for the next shiny thing.
  20. Your stuff is great. I'm getting a NWN2 vibe, and that's a good thing.
  21. Mod tools, for sure. When games have a good modding community they seem to be viable much longer than they would otherwise. I'll throw more in towards a game if I know it's going to be worth repeated playthroughs later on.
  22. Along those lines, have you given thought to designing a "legacy" system for weapons/armor? By that, I mean a system that allows for equipment to evolve beyond the usual systems of enchanting. As a brief example, let's say you've used the same longsword to kill 500 goblins, goblins come to recognize and fear the blade (regardless of who uses it). When using that weapon against goblins you could gain effects, ranging from the standard "+1 vs goblins" to special effects like causing fear, or special dialogue options. It's something that I've thought about for awhile, and that I think could go a long way to making the player grow attached to both the player and defining their character mechanically through equipment. Taking it a step further and allowing players to rename a weapon would, in my mind, go a long way to making the game feel inclusive of the player and reflective of his actions without without showing showing a meta-game achievement for their deeds. Plus, it encourages my nerd fantasies, and I am imagining a future game that actually detects signature weapons from save game imports, and adds it to loot tables based on stats... but probably asking too much! This is a really fantastic idea - it really allows for a character's equipment to become "iconic" without it being so because the game tells you so. Take Skyrim for example, even if you want to dress like the Dragonborn does in the trailers, you're going to outgrow it pretty quickly.
