  1. I'd just like it to stay in dialogs like this: Random old bastard: Lass, you should be cooking meals to your husband and tending to the barn. Do you even know how to swing that weapon? Its not a toy you know. Female Pc: Well i thought i swung it pretty well earlier today when i decapitated those ogres that had been plaguing your village for years. Other choices could be more passive, subtle, angry etc..
  2. Reality is never as easy as good and evil, but we've had the idea of this polarity bashed into our brains since we were children by Disney and the rest of society. It makes everything so much easier to digest. Selfishness and altruism, small picture and big picture, chaos and order, these are real. They aren't going to not let you roleplay evil overlord or sanctified paladin, the choices you make will just feel more genuine as you do them. And theres no grey-zones in bioware games. I remember Jade Empire was going to do a great moral system, the dichotomy between the zen-like open palm martial artist and the nihilist closed fist. It pretty much devolved into a give-money-to-the-poor/take-money-from-the-poor system of morals.
  3. Upped my pledge by 88$, thats double eternity godammit. I am the Pit Dweller of the Obsidian Order.
  4. If the lore allows it: - Bladed whips. A cross between swords and whips, essentially a sword split in several pieces held together by a chain or metal thread. - Most kinds of polearms, but what i would really like to see is something akin to the Chinese Guan Dao (*1) and the Japanese Chidori Jumonji Yari (*2). - If you make uniques you could make them out of parts from fallen boss-monsters such as dragon-bone, teeth etc. - Something ive never seen in an rpg is semi-organic weapons, a weapon enhanced by a physical entity attached to it. A known example of that is the soul edge from the soul calibur series. (*1) (*2)
  5. I prefer the more awesome fights we have nowadays to the old ones, but at the same time i dislike the oversimplification of them and the lack of need for more advanced strategies. Dragon Age 2 had fancy fights but no depth to them. It had been simplified down to hack and slash and spell-spamming. I did like that you could use repositioning in the battlefield to gain an advantage but many skills where of little use because there was never really a situation that needed their use. Enemies were simply too retarded. I was not a fan of the cannon fodder parts though.
  6. Personally i dont like turn based combat. Makes it too easy when the enemy is just standing there while you think out a murder everything combo. Much rather prefer real time where i have to think on my feet and react. I would hope if you're here you aren't going to care if the graphics are state of the art or not. Dont think it was graphics he was talking about but combat animations like swings and spells. That is something i hope will be decent at least.
  7. Im lazy, so +1 to this. Good thing you guys are looking at the funding trend and the need for bigger goals. - Like many here have said, consider if you are able to bring in Justin Sweet as an extra artist, more namedropping. - Another large goal could be something that appeals directly to the heart of rpgers. Mention more depth and complexity or more major questlines and you'll have them frothing. Generally, just give us something to reach far for.
  8. Excellent, i can cross off mega-dungeon over the things i want. With crafting and enchanting in, i can safely increase my pledge. What i would like is that you make me reach for the 250$ tier though.
  9. I think i'll wait for the "suggestions/things i want to see in game" forum to come up. You guys go mad though.
  10. SAWYER!! I can see you are online! Europe must have the 50K announcement, we cannot wait for you lazy American's "sleep" to end, whatever that is.
  11. If they are smart and put up some intriguing stretchgoals to light a fire under our arses, the pledges might pick up speed towards a final pull, like what happened with Wasteland 2. If they play it right, we might even pass 3 million. When Chris Avellone was mid-way announced to be participating in Wasteland 2 pledges soared.
  12. I guess i could support it as one of the really sick stretch-goals.
  13. I font know what you are talking about on Europe. By the "where are you from" poll, we almost double the Americans.
  14. Im no gfx-wh**e, but i would like to see something better than the BG character sprites. Also, if people other than backers are to play the game it has to be presentable.
  15. Visionary or mundane, we still need more stretch goals to keep up the pace. We all want them to have as much as possible to toy with.
  16. Yes! For gods sake, i know the interest came as a shock to Obsidian but they have had more than enough time to recuperate by now. Bring on some damned stretch goals already or youre not gonna get a new surge of money at the end! Something im afraid of is that they in not trusting the community (like they obviously didn't do before day one) will sell the vision of the game short, which may be a fundamental flaw in the whole campaign. I just hope they have adjusted their vision from a 1,1 million game to a 2,2+ million game if you get my drift.
  17. Anyone know how much we will be able to determine the appearance of our main character?
  18. - Tank and spank bosses. - Constant playing to the pc's ego. - Randomly dropped unique weapons. - Best weapon/armor in the game. Give me some choices okay?
  19. I liked DAO in this way, you are skilled and powerful, but you are still at the whim of fate and have to be tactical in order to survive. If you have to use tactics to survive, you can get away with near-godmode pc's. Skyrim is, like all other ES-games an ego-fest. Pick up some mods to make it harder. Tried one with deadlier dragons, was very satisfied unto a point i reached too high a level again.
  20. Yup, hopefully this is either redundant since they will add this kind of depth to any new content they will introduce anyway, or i really hope someone from dev is seeing this thread.
  21. Only voted demonic since listing a bunch of different pre-existing races kind of defeats the purpose of making something completely original.
  22. Well this turned silly quite fast.
