  1. I just started the game, and trying to travel to Guilded Vale consistently crashes. Ouch. (It also locked up during the cutscene with the robed figure, but loading and trying again worked there. Not having a good time.) Crash report, saved game etc is here, I couldn't get it to attach to this post: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-ZDw4aqq9GSc1F0ZUw3a1RzNjg/view?usp=sharing
  2. I <3 this thread. Torment, Star Control 2 (ur quan masters) and Fallout 2 being my favorite three games of all time. I had the same thought/concern as the OP when I read the lore update though. Stock fantasy setting stuff, mostly. Which is fine if it's a mechanism to save the writers exposition that they can spend elsewhere, but they'd have to do so. Simply making more D&D lore is a losing game, since D&D itself is alive and well with its own massive fanbase. There has to be an extension that's unique. Fortunately, since they made Torment, (which was undoubtedly one of the most atypical D&D games of all time - it didn't even have swords or armor!) I'm still feeling pretty good about it.
  3. No, that's exactly what I'm referring to as breadth. Yes, of course they have to add content when they add a companion. What I'm saying is that I'd probably rather have 3 companions with 50 pages (for lack of a better unit of measure) of dialogue and character, than 150 companions with 1 page of character. And yes, probably not necessary, but it didn't seem impossible that people who had played other Infinity Engine games but not Torment are on this forum, and I really hate spoilers.
  4. We're hitting all these bonus tiers that add new areas and races and stuff, which is great! But, I'm also interested in adding depth and replay diversity to already-planned regions & companions. I understand this is a little harder to quantify as a Kickstarter goal ("uh, we'll increase the dialogue tree complexity by 20%!"), but that's the game I'm most interested in. Instead of (for example) having eight companions with eight pages of backstory, hitting a tier and adding a ninth companion, I want to add a page of backstory to the eight already there. Don't get me wrong, I love me some good exploration, but I'm more interested in finding out something interesting about a character I care about than finding another generic cave. Different kind of exploration, I guess. Some Torment nostalgia: (skip if you haven't beaten it)
