  1. EIGHTY HOURS MINIMUM (INCLUDING ESTIMATED TIME TO READ ALL THE DIALOGUE). Come on guys. The Witcher 1 was a pretty long game, and that was all voiced. I'm sure you can do it too. 15-20 hours ?? hahaha, that's either coming from a very disillusioned old school cRPG fan or a person who's never played an infinity engine game.
  2. Expansion packs If there's any DLC it should be free like the old days. That would be in the spirit of the era they're trying to replicate right?
  3. I think the reason for this was (and I read this in Brent Knowles' yearly blog)
  4. That's what I said. But I figure this will be a more popular title so raising the beta access required amount limits the field a bit (and it makes them more money ...) But yes I do miss ~35-50 beta access
  5. I'm just gonna double down and say I hope there's a MORE SIDEQUESTS stretch goal. BG2 had the most amazing amount of cool sidequests.
  6. Funny, I participated in the Red Orchestra 2 and Star Wars The Old Republic betas (among others) and the betas were both better than the full release. But I do like buying games for $20.
  7. Quite a steep amount to have access to the beta, but I suppose because it will be a popular title that's one way to limit the field somewhat plus it's a good marketing strategy to gain more from current pledges (though I hope it doesn't start a trend among future Kickstarters >_>), I'm quite happy with the ~$35-50 beta access ones thanks
  8. Yay the GOG vote did something. GOG > Steam
  9. It goes a long way to adding to the atmosphere of the game if the tone is right. Then again The Witcher 1 got by on a pretty basic soundtrack.
  10. One of the stretch goals of Planetary Annihilation was putting money towards the music of the game. The music style of Project Eternity may not need to be strictly orchestral or classical music (some medieval / neoclassical / neo-folk stuff would be nice for various different areas / environments), but I think this is a great idea for a stretch goal. That's not to say that it need be exactly like that, but money towards the music/soundscapes/voiceovers/recording quality etc This is also not a post about the composer, as it seems likely that Justin Bell will get his shot for Project Eternity (which might be a good thing, as it was the earliest works of other composers for video game soundtracks that are usually their best).
  11. Baldur's Gate style, but with some kind of catch up mechanism for unused party members, at least like, within a certain level range. (I think when you recruited some party members in BG1 they were level 5 rather than level 2, I think it was chapter based). That way if you use less people, at least you get more experience.
  12. Cloudkill / Sleeping Cloud Zone of True Air etc
  13. I hate achievements. On the other hand a more in-depth stat screen like the BG one would be cool (the one with favourite weapon, favourite spell, time in party, XP earned, monsters slain, most powerful foe vanquished etc)
  14. Free ... my ... people ... Astrolabe ... whirls ... twirls
  15. And if you are going to do a difficulty slider system, for god's sake do not just up the hit points, resistances and/or damage I'd prefer no difficulty slider though
  16. Really? I had that problem when I was younger and didn't know the D&D rules / game mechanics inside out, but with a well-optimized party and 'safe' play, it's hard to even lose a character in the prologue. The main threats are the goblins with the bows at the start, just make sure your lowest AC characters go in first and the arches/spellcasters aim them. Then there's the Ogres and the casters in the cave. If you're properly rested with the right spells and once again, safe play (lowest AC chars take the aggro), there's enough healing pots around to make up the damage as well. Baldur's Gate 1 has a weird mechanic where a lot of the time monsters will get a critical hit on the first attack, for instance, the Ogre in the area south of the Friendly Arm Inn, send your main character in first against him and he will 1 shot you. Send Imoen in first and he'll never kill her in one hit (or rarely anyway). And that's what Xzar and Montaron are for :D cannon fodder for the Ogre and Tarnesh on the stairs, hehe.
  17. Real Eyes Realize Real Lies.
  18. Happy Endings are boring, it's not like the Planescape Torment ending was a happy one Something like this would be fun ... PC has dialogue options and adequate stats to gain the attention of a member of a particular faction's female lover. PC picks right dialogue options/rolls successfully and has a tryst with said woman. Member of faction rocks up unexpectedly during your tryst, murders her before you and you have to fight him then escape the building. As a result of this you lose severe amounts of reputation with that faction and said faction member's relatives try and hunt you down. Tragic, Brutal, Moral Choice, and rippling consequences
  19. I want tragedy, pain and suffering. Happy relationships aren't the type I enjoy reading about.
  20. I was making a wise crack at the person who posted after you. Basically I was saying their idea was a silly one. The backer only thing is a fair call though.
  21. Paypal isn't open yet because Paypal doesn't count towards the Kickstarter goal, if you want to use paypal you'll have to wait until post-finish date. That is, unless paypal decide to shut down their account because they aren't fans of their business model
  22. Hi I paid $10K, I want all the females to be naked in this game. No thanks.
