Skills all wrong in RPGs?
All you're suggesting is extremely slow leveling and extremely large increases in character stats on level-up. I fail to see how that's more "realistic" or "dramatically exciting." It's just grinding. Kill 100x more goblins for a 10x larger stat increase doesn't sound fun, dramatic or exciting at all. When real people train for marathons it takes a long-term commitment. You don't suddenly go from out of breath at 100 yards for 10 years to Kenyan-class champion runner after some sudden instant of providential reward. It's fundamentally fallacious to posit that changes in human physiology work in any fashion similar to arbitrary rules made for games.

What are you playing now?
DOG EEEEEEYES I think the Two Best Friends Play video of Sleeping Dogs is the best advertisement Square Enix could possibly have for that game. Got Dark Souls (really need those mods, wow,) Far Cry 3, the Mount & Blade series and Saints Row the Third on Steam's you-know-what. Why would you buy Dark Souls, I thought you have played it? I am also going to be buying Dark Souls so apart from the Hi-Res Mod what other Mods would you suggest? Because it was cheaper than buying Artorias of the Abyss on PSN, and there are mods.

Thanks for that.

General feel I'm sensing in community reactions: Personally, I always prefer to actually wait for substantive information before freaking out.

Why 9 Charakters only?
Because it's an RPG, not RTSw/P.

Kids react to interracial Cheerios commercial controversy
Kids React is a mixed bag. And I'm 100% certain the Fine "Bros." aren't actually brothers. Also they have a weird fixation on Miku Hatsune. Uhhh... Cheerios. Post relevant. In all seriousness, I have biracial family members, so yeah, racists are ***holes, news to nobody.

Romance, Marriage, Pregnancy and having Children.
Zalpha: So how do you propose a female protagonist or party member go around engaging in constant combat in pursuit of a life and possibly cosmos-changing quest, pregnant? They don't make maternity armor except in Bethesda game porn mods. And that is not a community to be admired. Which is ignoring the fact that a woman 6-8 months pregnant can't even perform daily routine movement without difficulty. Not to mention the physiological chaos pregnancy wreaks on a woman. CHECK AND MATE.

That Thing Obsidian Always Does
Demanding an in-depth dialogue tree and life story for every NPC in the game is comically, nay, idiotically unfeasible. If Obsidian had a team of 2000 professional writers they wouldn't be able to do it on account of the fact that maybe 1% of them would actually get paid, based on the game budget.

The general firearms thread!
Why is it "for pro-gun people only"? That's discrimination. What about gun-neutral people? Why does everything have to be black and white, "you're with us or against us"? Why is it so hard to accept the concept of gray areas or nuance in your world view? It's like segregation except you have no way of enforcing it because it's an internet forum where you have zero administrative power. Inferences from your vitriol against your perceived enemies need not be spoken. I know that I've got guaranteed replies, but just for good measure... DEAGLE CLIPS At any rate, I'm just glad I haven't seen any of those airsoft pussies posting about their toys. Man. Those guys. Get a real gun, you nerds. It costs the same as the stupid airsoft club logo/camoflauge paintjob you got on your windowless 1976 Dodge Ram Van. It's certainly romantic, but I wouldn't rely on a single-action in a legitimately life-threatening encounter/confrontation. Speaking of nerds and guns... http://www.sigsauer.com/CatalogProductDetails/p226-x-five-golden-dragon.aspx

Jesus walks the earth again?
I can guarantee you there are at least a million people on Earth who believe they are Jesus You Mean From the Bible Jesus Yes From the Bible Jesus That's Me, minimum. This is not remarkable in any way. Seriously, this isn't even original. I guess if you aren't from MURRKA you wouldn't have a lot of familiarity with cult leaders claiming to be the second coming, molesting children and then dying in gun battles with federal agents. South Africa, you owe me like one, one and a half minutes, however long it took for me to spit out this post.

What are you reading?
I'm still laughing 10 minutes later. Anyway, finally read The Road. Kind of disappointed by the ending after having read No Country for Old Men.

What are you playing now?
Got back into NV, playing with the Tale of Two Wastelands mod and suuuuuuuupeeeeeeeer sloooooooow leveling. Only drawback to it is the mandatory Fallout 3 character creation, but I suppose it's understandable since the point of the mod is to add F3's content to NV. They did a pretty good job balancing F3's content to make it more challenging/in line with NV's design ethics. Also breaking the game in Civ V: BNW with Pocatello thanks to the Shoshone replacement for Scouts getting to choose the bonus obtained from ancient ruins, and the only limit is a turn number cooldown time, so it's all +20 culture, new technology, +1 population, +20 faith, +20 culture, new technology, +1 population, +60 faith, ad infinitum until you can't find any more ruins.

Scientology and the Internet
http://www.xenu.net/ Operation Clambake is the original, and best, amalgamator of evidence that Scientologists are brimming with ****. Note that the whole V for Vendetta Anonymous thing came well over a decade after said site's founding.

This George Zimmerman thing
Yeah, those afro-americans need to accept the fact that racism is over and there is no racial bias anywhere in the US criminal justice system. The fact that the vast majority of prison inmates in the US are black males is testimony to the inherent negative qualities of their ethnic group and not evidence of an underlying social and systematic bias in America, where racism is over and inequality is solely a result of choices made by perfectly rational individuals in an emotionless vacuum devoid of outside influences aside from the Ivy League-caliber education that all inner-city impoverished youths receive, on account of racism being over. In our perfect system, people who make poor choices do so because they are flawed, inferior individuals, a determination based on their inability to act in accordance with 200 year old economic models of human behavior that, as we all know model, (without 200 years of real sciences producing evidence to the contrary,) every aspect of human behavior. We need to worry about the real victim, George Zimmerman. Like his brother said on TV recently, he fears vigilantes taking the law into their own hands and becoming a threat to the victim's safety. Wholly unrelated:

Don't trust to popular science
This is neither popular nor science, unfortunately for some parties. Popular science is stuff along the lines of "Popular Science" and "Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman." The book in question is not an article in a peer-reviewed journal following the scientific method, it's a niche military history (not a science,) publication from a niche publishing house aimed at niche audiences. It's the polar opposite of popular.

Mercantile Skills in Project Eternity
Of course there should be various sorts of merchants with various sorts of methods. It wouldn't be believable if everyone was a huckster or snake oil salesman any more than it would if every merchant was an infallible Protestant pulling themselves up by the bootstraps. I don't think they should waste time and resources on something as ambitious as modeling a simulated mercantilist/capitalist economy. I'm not saying it wouldn't be interesting, but it strikes me as far outside the scope and budget of the game.

Idea "Jobs" and some "Economy" as a part of roleplaying.
"outcomes"? Considering you're using it in conjunction with "income," are you using it (incorrectly, obviously,) to refer to expenditures? How is that any different from RPGs as it is? You craft, find, steal items and sell them, that generates income. You use that income to purchase things, expenditures. Basically you're asking for a game like Recettear to be recreated in P:E and Skyrim elements, i.e. chopping wood, selling chopped wood for paltry sums. And if you think a woodcutter makes anything but paltry pay you're sorely mistaken. The "job" of going out and killing people and animals and monsters and demons and such is inevitably more profitable than doing peasant labor. And buying low/selling high is an ideal anyone strives for in any RPG, they don't need to make special systems revolving around an idea you got from a Japanese porn game.

"I want to read books that are like Resident Evil 6." Huh. Never thought I'd ever see that.

How "grindy" will the game be?
But there's no experience gained from combat. Quest completion only.
