What is your question? Why I don't like galaxy concept? ...one thing I really dislike re: Steam is ... auto patching. Must have patch before you can play it again (if you go online and game detects it needs a patch). Yes I know galaxy is optional, which is why at the moment it's a tolerable concept - assuming it stays optional. I tend to find such stuff often doesn't, in the long run. I also don't care about a client organizing my games for me, achievements, or whatever else. Or having a client at all. But GoG is trying to expand and grow, and is discovering that it may be difficult without changing their style as well. What direction this will take them in is anyone's guess. It often, to my personal way of thinking, doesn't end up very well. Gotcha.

If you are a backer and choose the GOG version it will be the exact same as the Steam version (minus DRM). All backers get the same version (plus or minus some in-game items/pets depending on your tier). How it works is that you will go to the Backer Portal to choose where you would like to redeem the game from. You will then be given a key that you can use to redeem a copy of the game from whatever platform you have selected. All digital rewards that are not games are downloaded from the Backer Portal directly, not Steam or GOG.

Gah...first time I'm hearing about this. Me no like. But...at least I think it's optional, like their downloader (which I don't use). So I guess...I won't use it. On further thought....this implies a direction for GoG that I really don't like. More and more they seem to be moving away from their original premises. Really? I thought people just assumed he was a fighter from the concept art but they said his actual class was rogue, and they made it talking point on the flexibility they wanted to have in classes. Granted, I wasn't following that closely during the kickstarter, so I could very well be wrong. Actually, both in the backer beta and in the streams, they can act as meatshields. Not sure if it's a bug though.

If GOG can merge the ease of use and convenience of steam with what they already have, then I'm all for it.

It's as if Sensuki is trying to pimp via passive linkbaiting this magical fairyland of a website where rpg dreams go to a...happy ending.

When you get past lots of the garbage and fecal matter being bandied about, the codex can actually get pretty entertaining and there is some *occasional* good discussion being had. But before you wade in, just like the IE games, you gotta cast some pre-buffs and guzzle down plenty of potions. Be ready with a sense of humor and throw out whatever (little) SJW sensibilities you may have. I may only have a couple handful of posts going back ten years, but I lurk a bit every now and then to check up on the Hive Mind for what's kosher in vidya gaemz. They serve enough of a purpose as the evil bogeyman of rpg developers.

I like both but am leaning towards Steam for convenience. The "DRM" for Steam is not intrusive to me. Plus they have the added benefit of cloud saves.

It'd definitely be helpful if all mods are housed in a central repository rather rather than having to poke and search through different sites and databases. Nexus or even the Steam Workshop are convenient enough.

Question is, can Del Rio, being a former LB and obvious defense guy, be the right HC to mold Carr into a star QB? Over say, a Mike Shanahan? The 49er situation is still bizarre. Tomsula was in no one else's radar and after the PR fiasco after dumping Harbaugh, they pass over Vic Fangio and go with their DL coach. It's hard for me to give Jed York or Trent Baalke the benefit of the doubt.

The best part of Arcanum is character creation. Which was absolutely sublime. Unfortunately, the rest of the game never really matched its initial promise. I suppose Arcanum was a microcosm of Troika in general. So much heart, potential, and ideas to be truly great. Baseball analogy alert: Superb minor league 5-Tool prospect that could never put it all together in the show.

Jack Del Rio got the Oakland job. Nothing exciting there.
