Aphids location?
McSquirl Nugget replied to tecknotot's topic in Grounded: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
i usually have a couple running around the first field lab and the machine, killed a couple last night at the oak tree, they were south east part of that running around the roots. -
slow down, breathe, use some punctuation I vote no to this. you get extra hauling slots with the ant armor, 1 etra for each armor piece. i'd hate to see a lazy mode like this added to the game. I'd rather see a sled you can drag or even a cart you could build to help carry extra items for forage runs. the sled should slow you down a lot and use stamina twice as fast and use both hands, so no torch or other off hand item. Equipped hand held items should go into the sled when you use it, if sled is full then into the backpack, if backpack is also full they should be dropped. Tier 2 for the sled could be a cart, with half the stamina used the sled does.

i don't think that should be added. more realistic the way it is. Agree equipped items should not take up inventory slots. Also to add to this if your backpack is full and you die, whatever you're holding in your hands and wearing should drop. If you don't pick them up when you collect your backpack they should have an expiration timer, say like 15 minutes real time and then they're gone. Should give players enough time to remember they forgot to grab those things and retrieve them.

Personal Thoughts and Suggestions
McSquirl Nugget replied to Krumblebud's topic in Grounded: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I disagree. How many teens do you know would be able to go out and gather material and build a floor on their own? the Raw Science gives our characters the instructions. All teens of today can do is play games and stare at their cell phones. Agree with this one. if you sleep right around 20:00 you should get the well rested bonus, every hour after that until midnight is a 1/4 reduction of that bonus, after midnight no bonus. later than midnight until say 3 since you wake up at 6, is a penalty for poor rest, like reduced stamina and you take more damage. That's specific ants and specific catepillars. i don't think it applies to the game ants. Some ants also milk aphids for their honeydew, but not our ants. We're ant sized now, why not just give us the option to build fences and a milking shed for aphids. i'm against taming. i have a better idea for that in another thread here. there's a sandbox just on the other side of the weed spray can, hopefully they'll open that up soon. that would give us sand (and sand mites) to use in water filters. even then with that section open we don't need mounts. you can run almost half way across the map with normal stamina, boost it with armor etc you can make it farther. map would have to greatly increase before we need mounts. i don't follow this one. wear armor but yet cover it up with other armor? what's the purpose for that? -
love this! finally a way to kill those wolf spiders without ground or other exploits

Wolf spiders
McSquirl Nugget replied to Highclass's topic in Grounded: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
again only if you get perfect blocks every time. i have the mint hammer, doesn't help much if you miss a perfect block and get poisoned, you die even with full health and using bandages, or at least i do. -
building upgrades
McSquirl Nugget replied to GarryE's topic in Grounded: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
ah thanks for correcting me, i must have skipped over building the sturdy wall and went to the stem wall, -
was going to add the acorn top to my post of ideas as a dumb waiter type, the top only has 2 uses (that i've found) and it always seems like a waste when i'm collecting shells to discard all the tops. I like the elevator idea also, would need a counterweight though, so my idea for the rope net filled with pebblets would work as that. Rope being made from combined woven fibers. I've got grappling hook in my list. i like this idea though, clamp the rope to a spot and repel down for future easy access. Would make getting to the field lab and hte bird bath at the berry bush much easier to access.

building upgrades
McSquirl Nugget replied to GarryE's topic in Grounded: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
in this case there is no existing components as grass and sturdy wall have nothing in common for components. you'd have to demolish and rebuild. I get what you're saying though, maybe that'll happen in a future update if we get like a clay wall that uses weed stems, upgrade the sturdy wall to the clay wall just by adding the clay, etc. -
Difficulty Change
McSquirl Nugget replied to Kevin O'Hara's topic in Grounded: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
no way to do this on Xbox, and most games like to keep the options similar between platforms (less to support/troubleshoot). would be nice to see this available though, i also started on mild and after 36 hours played had to start new to change to normal. i was back up to the same point in 3 or 4 hours that it took me the initial 36 to get to. -
lagging Ant / gnat overpopulation
McSquirl Nugget replied to SilentNinjaJG's topic in Grounded: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
saw the gnats bunched up yesterday when i was playing, 10 or 12 of them but it was near the light at the oak tree for me. killed them all, seemed to disperse them out so they were around the map again. had 4 bugging me at my base a few in game days after that. -
lagging Ant / gnat overpopulation
McSquirl Nugget replied to SilentNinjaJG's topic in Grounded: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
never seen this happen in my game, also xbox one x. wonder if the base location is having an effect? i left my base back by punch-o by the machine, but have shelters in all the major areas like the rose garden and the berry bush and whatnot. -
Water Container
McSquirl Nugget replied to GarryE's topic in Grounded: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
you can't slurp from the water container. it does the animation of slurping from a puddle. Even jumping onto the container so the animation is slurping from the barrel doesn't work. I think it's a bug. For now you can only get water from the container with the canteen. -
Wolf spiders
McSquirl Nugget replied to Highclass's topic in Grounded: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
i must suck they hand me my rear end and shoo me along to respawn. I can block them, can sometimes perfect block them but missing that perfect block, at least for me, means i'm poisoned and dead. -
Playing With Phobias
McSquirl Nugget replied to Kenpachi_kon's topic in Grounded: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
anything that knows it's his food, or up to 3 times it's size jumping spiders are the most advance spider in the world. would be awesome to have jumping spiders too Regal Jumper is my favorite, the black and white with green fangs morph, Bold jumpers are pretty cool too. We get both of these plus the grey jumper in my yard. back on topic, i'd go for a phobia friendly mode we could toggle, seems the disney princess filter is the social media rage lately, they should use that. -
Grounded console
McSquirl Nugget replied to Scar1983's topic in Grounded: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Yes just slots 1-4 though, the settings don't recognize button combos yet, even though there's a 2nd button map option, so you'd think you could do them. future update hopefully will enable that. -
agreed, would love to see this. give us an aim button and a shoot button, have to hold the aim button down to shoot, if the aim is released the bow is retracted.

New zone idea
McSquirl Nugget replied to BackingTheTeam's topic in Grounded: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
sounds fun, add a few more toys in there, like a half buried matchbox car. new type of ant could be introduced with new crafting options to go with our red ants now, like carpenter ants or pavement ants, maybe round worms, all those frequent sandboxes. Plus this would provide sand for the water filter idea -
Grounded console
McSquirl Nugget replied to Scar1983's topic in Grounded: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
you can use the D pad directions now, but i agree it would be much easier to be able to use button combo's like LB+Left for the 5-8 slots then something else for 9 and 10. If you assign the dpad to slots 1-4 remember to remove the chat and other bindings or it gets confusing. -
You should add a snake
McSquirl Nugget replied to BloodMoonGamer's topic in Grounded: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
no thanks on the snake idea, a snake would be instant death. they don't eat bugs, they eat warmbloods, like our characters. they'd hunt us down to have a tiny little snack as we're the only warm blooded thing in the yard. -
Entomophobia mode
McSquirl Nugget replied to JokerWillGetYou's topic in Grounded: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
You need to face your fears, fight those nasty bugs that scare you, kill them. overcome! -
No Taming!
McSquirl Nugget replied to David Briggs's topic in Grounded: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
i get that, i agree it shouldn't be a sim type enviro, but i don't want it to be Ark Survival: Grounded either. What drew me to the game is the shrunken aspect, i've wanted a game like this for decdes since the movie came out and the kids had to survive in the yard. That and the minimalistic basics we have. I don't want to see it get to techie like ark, building machine guns and bug based turrets. I'd rather see a carrot on a stick type concept like riding pigs in minecraft. Pigs can't be tamed, but they can be used to ride. If Obsidian could do this concept for pack muling also to carry supplies. i think it'd be a win win.
