  1. I am not sure he is acting as intended. I have 6 different builds going at the moment and on three of those he joins me right at the temple in Edge Water after giving him the book he wanted found, on the other three he went and waited at the ship. I am not sure what the correct script is suppose to be or if it is some how effected by how you are building the character but some consistency would be good.
  2. All the companions quests do is give you some insight into your companions with some experience to go along with it. They aren't required to advance the companions skills so if you don't care for that aspect don't play through those quests.
  3. I guess it is possible, probable however well that might be a different thing all together. Inventive idea though!
  4. Odd thing is I still end up with tons of loot, still disappointed as it feels at time that it is all a stage designed to produce an illusion of habitation.
  5. I have had them take damage from my weapons so not sure what you are talking about, I don't play on super nova so at the most they would just be disabled. Why don't you just not use them instead of dismissing them?
  6. There is a thread a moderator linked that listed thing Obsidian was tracking to adjust in the future text size was one of them. I play on PC but I could see this being an issue for someone playing on a console using a TV placed across a room.
  7. You can still use and develop the companions without doing any of the quests. So far things have been obvious the path they will take so if it bothers you just skip it. I am really surprised how many people have taken things personal in this game.
  8. Companions skills only add to your skills, they are similar to how equipment buffs work that raise your skill but won't unlock the tier bonuses. To my knowledge you can't point them at something like a locked container and have them pick it for you. A odd decision to make in my opinion but so far the only thing you lose out of it loot as I have found several different ways to get into locked areas.
  9. Well good for you. I would put your query in the stories or build and strategy categories as you are asking how to complete an objective in the game that other players might not of finished.
  10. Very nice to hear, I would not of though to look on the support forum for such a message. Generally I only go to such a forum if I am having issues with a game running, which I haven't so thanks for the link as I would probably never seen this thread.
  11. This ties in with the botched quest system that allows you to close off certain missions based of the decisions you make. I implemented a strategy where I finish all side quests and tasks before advancing the main quest.
  12. There is also perks to raise your movement speed with fast travel in all but one difficulty. I would still really like an auto move toggle.
  13. There are forums specifically designed to ask this type of question that allow spoilers to be shown, best to use those for such queries instead of the general discussion that has a no spoiler tag in its title.
  14. Ahh thanks I was thinking it would be in settings so didn't even notice the yellow dot.
  15. This might of been something that was being developed but do to time crunch it got shuffled of to just being a junk item.
  16. Yes I have had few issues a few anomalies such as characters having to reposition themselves during conversations when I position myself to close to an object. Over all I think it is a benchmark for other games to shoot for performance wise.
  17. Is there an option on this forum to go to the first unread post in a thread? Annoying to have to scroll down to find what I haven't read.
  18. The best proposal I have heard is a Ala Carte survival menu where you can choose what choice from the supernova you want to include in your play through regardless of difficulty setting.
  19. I haven't tried this yet but I will get to the torturing point soon I am sure. My first thought is supernova play through with no leveling both with and without companions (from what I have heard so far the no companions might be less frustrating) but the addition of taking flaws could add to it. Can you take a flaw without taking the perk as I know taking a flaw automatically pops the perk screen up?
  20. I think they looked around sometime in development and said oh we need a currency sink so lets use tinkering. I am disappointed with how engineering is utilized I have some googles and a piece of armor that allows me to get it to level 90 but I don't get any of the bonuses shown for equipping them. I agree that one of the bonuses to upping engineering should of been a reduction in tinker cost as it is odd that it costs more to raise that low level up to a higher level that still won't compete with the higher level equipment you can use. I wonder if the item level system and tinkering where developed separately then tried to be smooched together to give us the current system. It is also odd that a lot of the named items you find can't be tinkered with or modified, this means that the common drop with the right mods and application of tinkering can become better and more customized to how you play.
  21. Have you tried adjusting your field of view? Not as good solution as third person but might help with your struggle a little bit.
  22. I adds mod as a way to increase replayability but I like to see the designers vision then change what I don't like or add in options that I feel would broaden/refine the systems.
  23. So the complaint as I understand the point of this thread is that there is one difficulty that allows you to permanently lose your companions, which until you understand how they work and develop them are very weak. So by trying the game out on this difficulty I am forced to reload often so I don't miss the content that my companions provide, never mind that there is three other modes of play I could utilize if I in fact want to experience the content. Instead I will come on to a forum to complain about how a difficulty level designed to be a challenge after you have figured out the game , that also clearly states the challenges involved. Is to hard and should be changed because if I play it I either have to lose out on content or constantly reload a save redoing content I have already seen. So how is me choosing to play at this difficulty not exclusive to the above named quandary? Also nice of you to evaluate my mental health of a sentence on a forum, perhaps you can place your practice next to Lucy's of Peanuts fame I wouldn't charge the full five cents might want to start at three or perhaps even two cents.
  24. I hadn't looked at them to closely as I generally don't mod a game until I have completed it. At least there seems to be interest in modding the game and some have taken the time to release something on Nexus even if they are just ini tweaks and Re-shades.
  25. Maybe in a mod or a DLC.
