  1. I didn't buy it from there but I would guess a digital key sent by email that you have to use on the Epic store to download the game.

One of the confirmed causes is if you initiate an event such as dialog or zone transition while a companion is climbing a ladder then they keep climbing until eventually the engine runs out of ladder causing a conflict which is resolved by marking them as dead even though they clearly aren't and can still be used. Most likely she decided to go up to the engine room while you where leaving the ship, since you can't see her from the ramp entry you would never know. The good news is this is suppose to be patched which is projected to be this week although I haven't heard a specific day.
  3. While watching a stream of the game someone in chat said there was a bug that would "soft lock" the game if you used a skill like persuade or medical in a NPC conversation. Is this true? I have not heard of this and going back ten pages on the forum and a search didn't get any results. I am pretty deep in the game on multiple builds and not had anything like this occur. Also no idea what they meant by soft locking the game.
  4. Hopefully the patch will fix this. The cattle appearing are not the cause I have watched several streams where the cows had appeared but the streamers where able to advance the quest. The cause appears to be initiating an event or object while the companion is climbing a ladder. While ADA receiving extra fertilizer as she puts it is an event it is not one the player initiates which is what seems to cause the glitch. So this means that you wouldn't be safe as it could happen at any time during the quest. Since transitioning out of the ship is an event initiated by the player if Parvati had decided to climb up to the engine room which she seems to do quite often then the quest would glitch out.
  5. I just saw this on the nexus forums: https://www.nexusmods.com/theouterworlds/mods/28 It looks like people are at least trying to make things harder for those who want to try it, no endorsement as I haven't played the mod but it is there if you want to give it a go.
  6. I have not heard of a creation kit being planned but I think even with out one there is enough smart savvy people who understand the Unreal 4 engine that they could mod without one. The real question to me is will there be enough interest 3 months from now in TOW to motivate them to apply their skills?

It seems to be level based on when the mk2 and ultra weapons show up, I wouldn't worry about it play enough and you will be swimming in weapons you with most likely sell or breakdown for repair parts. You can check the random vending machines speckled across the worlds or check the shops on ground breaker eventually one will pop up for you.
  8. It is an odd system I think the time constraint and limited assets have a lot to do with it. To add to what you said with mods you can make any weapon use plasma, corrosive, or electrical damage. Since you can't remove mods it is even more of a motivation to keep a low level weapon to tinker up to your level, there are of course a ton of mods so it isn't really necessary. Watching people stream it becomes obvious that the pack rat mentality that fits most RPGs doesn't' really work in the TOW as I think the idea was for a player to break down the majority of the equipment to use in repairing the items they where modding and tinkering with. There are some named weapons you can find or buy but usually they are weaker then the regular weapons you find and are stuck with whatever mods are on them.

I didn't care if the guy thought my opinion was true or false it wasn't about me being right or wrong but his insistence that my opinion had no validity basically I took him as saying because he decided that my reaction was wrong I didn't have the right to react to his initial statement. He could of simply stated what his intent was in the initial statement which I would of accepted as it is easy to miss intent and tone based on written statements posted on a internet forum. Instead he seemed to have a because I say this your reaction was wrong and invalid as I am the authority on how you feel about something. It doesn't matter as I figured out you have to check different choice boxes to implement the ignore so I don't see anything he says. Matter is closed as far as I am concerned I try to limit the energy I spend on people who I view negatively. I am glad I figured out the feature in the forum to assist me in doing that.
  10. Or maybe some will mod it in, this seems more likely but who knows what Obsidian will do with the game now that it is released.
  11. I have not found a way to do that, there is only one direction key for them which is Z. This might be why the system in mass effect seemed so much better as you could use each of the companions separately. This is one of the things I hope a mod addresses as it would add so much more tactically to the game.
  12. What is new is usually marked either a dot or a star I forget which the problem is the subjects aren't so you have to open each one to see what is new. In general it seems to be the logs category most of the time which is about any piece of new information or even you trigger in the game. I haven't gone the google route when I find something I am not sure about I just shrug and push on figuring it will come clear the more I play the game.
  13. The move command is Z which will produce an arrow to show you the location they head to. As for defending it the only time I have managed to get them to stay in the same spot is to put them on passive then give them a target. Once that target is down you have to give them another or they will just stand there even if damaged. If I put them on defensive they have a tendency to reposition to reach another target. It is possible to control them through out a battle but doesn't feel as reactive as mass effects system, I either spend all my time micromanaging my companions or I just kill everything myself. Oh if you notice your companions not following just hold Z and they will.
  14. I have not seen one for intelligence the majority of the buffs seems to be skill based or a boost to damage resistance. I doubt anyone has seen the full gambit so maybe someone will pop up with information on one that buffs intelligence.
  15. The codex if often updated if you read a new piece of information or log. I generally just ignore it unless I have a specific question I need answered.
  16. A current work around might be to have some low level filler items then take the equipment in your inventory to upgrade. If you are giving everyone the same equipment you would only need to maintain 2 sets as you can only take 2 companions out. Of course you would have to remember to equip the items before you went into each zone, this might trip me up as on my build I use different armor sets for in town, out of town and stealth. I have died on occasion only to realize I had level 2 armor with an AC of 9 instead of my battle armor with 45 armor and mods installed.
  17. I am not sure Obsidian was wise to push the Fallout connection to TOW, I am sure it helped sales but very different games developed in very different ways. For a long time Fallout was a passion product developed on programmers of times, I think this gave it a lot of time to peculate in several peoples minds. There was one person really responsible for Fallout staying alive but he got a ton of input from many different people. I like TOW and am enjoying it so hopefully this isn't taken the wrong way (but it is an internet forum so...) but looking at the game play that has some basic things missing that shouldn't be, and reading about the development. It just seems Obsidian got to a point where they where obligated to produce this game to meet a contract so they could move on to a big acquisition. I don't think they did a bad job or half-assed it but I feel decisions where made under the pressure of how can we make this a short decent RPG using the least amount of assets in the shortest time period. Hopefully now that the game appears to be a financial success, that the acquisition has occurred we will see content continue to be developed or at least a TOW 2.
  18. Did you know there is a sub-forum dedicated to character builds and tactics? That isn't designated spoiler free, might be a helpful resource to get your question answered more in depth. I will say so far any gun I have been able to put an extendo scope on has allowed me to snipe effectively.

You mistake my position as saying my opinion is correct what I am saying is that my opinion is validly mine correct or incorrect. I don't care about what your intent was I stated my opinion of how your post came across. Your response is that because you say my opinion was wrong because you say it is wrong, again your ego shows again instead of saying that wasn't my intent you decided someone who held a negative opinion of how you present yourself was wrong and invalid because it is you who was passing judgement on whether that opinion was correct or incorrect. It doesn't matter what your intent was my reaction to the tone I perceived is my right to react to regardless if that reaction was correct/incorrect it was still valid. Just because something is considered illogical to you doesn't mean the feeling and response is not valid. I don't need to justify anything to you you waste of an O2 scrubber, but you do piss me off with this superior attitude you have that because I say you are wrong you are wrong. I can hold whatever opinion I want about how you present yourself regardless of what you think of that opinions correctness, you have no authority over my thought. I would say no effect but obviously that isn't true as I wrote all this out in response to your blather anyway you go do you and I will do my best to ignore any posts you produce.
  20. You can send your companions to this spot or that spot but in combat I rarely do as they will rush in to the enemy on any setting except passive. In which if they aren't micromanaged they will literally stand there taking damage. In mass effect I felt I could use companions to support my strategy where in TOW it seems I can either fight or micro manage my companions not both at the same time. There have been fights in a few zones even on normal difficulty where using my companion abilities has made a difference in a fight if implemented at the right time, to early usually puts them to deep in the enemy which causes them to be taken out of the fight. Too late and I usually end up dead or retreating to heal myself or the ability has no effect at all on the outcome of the fight. They can be fun to watch plus some of the voice over with them is funny.
  21. Hopefully there is some relief coming with the patch on the small text issue. A lot of good suggestions of how to use the systems in the game to help the OP out.
  22. Is the motivation to see the companions face? There is an option in settings that allows you to disable helmets for both yourself and companions. Or is it some role play objective? I am just wondering why you would not want the helmets armor and skill boost.

  24. Your complaint was that I was trying to tell you how to think and act by posting an opinion opposite of what you posted. Basically your position is that because my opinion doesn't match yours it was incorrect as if you are the valid authority on what my opinions are. You can have what ever intent you want but you can't prove anything about my opinion of the tone I took from your post, the fact that you state it is provably incorrect as if you are some second rate god who has a say in what my opinion is. Hey moderator I put this guy on ignore so I wouldn't see his posts, that doesn't appear to work even though he is in the being ignored box. So how do I get it so I don't have to see his posts?
