I found Rekke yesterday, and he's indestructible. I have him dual wiedling same as Eder, and although Eder doesn't go down, I do have to keep an eye on his health, Rekke is hardly ever missing any. Apart from that I find his gibberish hilarious and very well done. Really disappointed he's only a sidekick xD Also, I cannot stand Maia.

So if I make a POTD character, it'll be just as hard/easy as it is on normal?Yep the game is currently broken. According to sawyer himself level scaling is broken and POTD is way out of whack. There are certain users on this forum who think otherwise. They are special people. Special people who try and delflect away from the truth with there special ramblings about nothing really, You'll be overjoyed to hear I actually tried this, with some difficulty I might add since first my P1 saves didn't display and I had to faff around, after which the game just removed Eder for no apparent reason. Now those are things I find pretty annoying xD So, third time lucky, I made an ascendant cipher/rogue hybrid. Really wish I'd done this for my other char who's pure rogue. As for the difficulty, I haven't got very far, but it is definitely harder than normal in spite of having Berath's Blessings. I have to kite a lot as the mobs stop hittiing Eder and focus on my main. I'm taking way more damage, and the rest of the party drop like flies (Xoti, Aloth and a homemade one). I think it was actually easier before I got those 3. I'm having to pay a lot more attention to what I'm doing, use more items etc. I've also had to give up on some stuff to go back later, so you can take it from a person who doesn't normally play harder difficulties that it actually is significantly harder. *shrug* I'm only level 2, but I'm not sure I want to inflict any more of this upon myself xD

Known Major Issues
Slotharingia replied to SChin's question in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
What fixed that for me was setting fullscreen to fullscreen rather than windowed. The game was so frustrating with that click bug. OS Language was already set to English (Ireland). Wanted to get back to you on this. I did as you suggested and it definitely got better, though it does still happen. I also noticed Steam automatically rechecks the "enable steam overlay" when it updates itself xD -
Importing a savegame
Slotharingia replied to qEin's question in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
I created a character in Deadfire the day it came out and used a save from an older character. Since then I completed 1 again and today tried to make a new deadfire character with that save and now the game says it cannot find *any* saves, not even the one I already used. I have gamecomplete savegames listed for 3 characters. Edited to add: I went into P1 and loaded the last save, and now all my P1 characters appear in Deadfire. However, it didn't actually overwrite the save. The date is still from 11 May. Not really an issue except that I first picked Hylea and then did it again with Wael twice (both on 11 May and just now), yet it's only saved the first one. *confused* -
Eye of Wael

I'm too stupid to do that haha. -
Interesting. I always play male characters and Eder felt the same to me as in 1. Aloth however, feels completely different. He was one of my favourite characters in 1 (2nd after Zahua), and my Watchers were always really kind to him, which he arguably doesn't deserve at all, yet in Deadfire, he's an aloof, judgemental git. My approval with him is still at 0, and was even at -1 at one point until I reloaded and kicked him out of the party for that particular scene xD (everyone else I cart around has been at +2 for ages). He's also at -2 with Serafen and Tekehu, while they are at 0 with him). Eder OTOH is still a fuzzy teddy bear. Enjoys jokes, likes helping, isn't judgy. I think he was depressed in 1 too. I wonder if this feeling re. characters depends upon how invested we were in them in 1. I mean, I always liked Eder, but it wasn't anything I was really passionate about, and I also won't be trying to romance him any time soon, as I'm assuming he's always straight. I agree that if you are a female, it would seem odd the thought never crossed his mind before.

It was done to encourage grimoir switching and also because every other castet class got a limitation when it came to what spells they could access. Wizards still have more spells and the ability to swap out some of them. I think it was just a bit too much of an advantage to have the old system for wizards now that it's per encounter casting. Though to be fair there was also talk of specialised grimoires with certain attributes but so far I've only found about three different ones and most are just the same one over and over again. Yeah I know it was done to encourage switching, but it would make more sense to me if there were default spells and grimoire spells, and not this hideous mishmash of variations of a theme that's just really confusing. I've found one grimoire with special attributes so far.

If you don't like battling with the ship, the junk with all the speed upgrades you can get would be the best choice for escaping. I always got away with that one, whereas with the default ship I could get up to round 60+ of trying to escape before reloading. Also, you can keep an eye on the map while sailing and if you see another ship, pause ansd change course to avoid them. Either that or get the galleon and fight them I guess. Anyway, I myself can't even find the ship in question xD It said it left the harbour but where it went, I have no clue.

Only Takehu has made a pass at my character so far. OFC my rogue instantly threw himself at him, so maybe that's why the others leave him alone? xD Edited to add: I'm a bit confused as to the problem with characters being "bi". Unless they state this in dialogue, the fact you can date them with both genders wouldn't automatically make them bi. Storywise only one version of reality exists, so they could be gay, straight or bi depending upon what character you are playing. Just the fact they are able to romance a different gender in a different scenario won't make them inherently bi in every universe, just as the Watcher isn't always the same. *shrug* Having said that, idk if the ones that are bi all make that clear from their ingame statements. I know Takehu does and there's an implication that Aloth dated a guy, but that's all I've seen.

I've never mained a wizard in Pillars, as I loved Aloth in 1. However, in Deadfire, I find the wizard a bit frustrating. The Grimoires annoy me as they are mostly the same, and it's hard to decide what spells he should learn, so basically it's a case of finding the Grimoire/s that has/have the most unique spells in, and then rerolling him around that/them while trying to remember which spells are in them. I'm lugging around a ton of grimoires that have like 3-4 different spells in them each but only use 2. I also don't like the layout of the spell books - it was better in 1. If this was done to prevent multicalss wizards from being op, maybe they should have just applied it when the wizard was actually multiclass? Kind of would make sense that only an actual wizard could write their own grimoires, etc. Or why not just banish grimoires from multiclass entirely?

I feel like some people try to make a game easy by seeking out the most OP classes / items. If the game difficulty is set to making the most op things hard, won't that make the non op choices really bad and overwhelm the majority of people who don't think about it in such detail? I do think it's easier than 1, but for the average bumbling player like myself, who has to read online how to play properly (lol), it's definitely not "too easy".

I'm pretty much only carting Aloth, Takehu and Serafen around. I feel overwhelmed by switching out. Serafen does seem to be pretty rubbish, but I hadn't given it any thought as to why . I had Maia on my team for a bit but she did and said something I found mega offputting. Xoti seemed okay but I booted her early on as I don't find priests that useful, and her personality isn't entertaining enough to make me drag her along anyway, like I often did with Durance. Pallegina seemed decent the time I had her, but too few slots and she doesn't fit with the rest of the team. Neither does Aloth, but the poor guy will just have to perma eyeroll as I need a wizard xD

You're on Steam, aren't you? Turn of Steam Overlay In-Game (in the Steam Preferences). That should fix it. Yeah I'd already done that and it solved the issue that the game just froze and didn't respond to clicks at all. Someone else suggested to turn the game onto full screen, which I did, and it's a lot better now but still does it some of the time.

Yeah I noticed this too. It takes only a couple of hours to max most of them and have enough points in all to make them keep coming up in dialogue. My lowest is "cruel", which I have half full, and I can't think for the life of me how I got it, yet it's been brought up in convos multiple times. Then in spite of this, I had to suffer the most terrible interaction with the one guy downstairs im Imperial Command in The Brass Citadel talking to me like I was an utter imbecile for having benevolent, honest and passionate (I think), in spite of no doubt having way more points in shady xD
