  1. Overall, I'm really enjoying the game, but ofc some things annoy me. I'm a bit overwhelmed by the boat fighting thing. My boat still sucks and I've got to round 40+ trying to escape before finally surrendering and reloading. xD I also find the purely scripted interactions a bit odd, and I'm deeply disappointed by Aloth having turned into a boring old fart. Luckily there's fishboy and the hairy blue pirate to make it less distressing. Having said that, I also really like that the game is different from the first one and I loved spending 3-4 days in the main city just walking around talking to people and doing the odd quest.
  2. Have to come back to this post. I solved the issue where the game stopped responding to the mouse at all, and had to be killed in the task manager, but I still have the issue that the game is very unresponsive to mouseclicks. I have to click most things multiple times before anything happens. This means I often end up skipping stuff in convos, or pick the wrong option as I'm auto reclicking, and battles are a slog as half of what I select never happens. My Windows is in English, and again, I'm not sure if this counts as the "clicks not registering" bug.
  3. I'd like to see "enemies clustered" for aoe spells and options that specifically refer to allies instead of "target", as well as the option to revive the dead (I think it was "Ally status: dead" in DA2), none of which I've found in the tactics. Also, would it be hard to make only tactics that actally apply to the character visible? It's a tad confusing to scroll though tons of options that don't apply xD
  4. After playing some more, I have come to the conclusion I actually just don't particularly like Aloth in Deadfire. He compulsively disapproves of things the companions I enjoy say and approves of the ones I am less fond of. He's also still at 0 approval when the other 3 I mostly drag around are all at 2 (I've never switched him out since having him). I'm not sure what I feel about this rn. I loved Aloth in 1 (the only character I liked more is Zahua), and was really happy he was in this one too, but I feel like they changed him into some kind of judgy, stuck up guy, who's shy yet ends up coming across as significantly more obnoxious than the loudmouths. When you meet him, you have to lie to save his face (well I know you don't have to), and then afterwards he's all uptight and does nothing but groan and make snide, bitchy remarks. He even said something that sounded like he thought the Watcher uses him as a tool at some point. *shrug* (I don't remember the exact context as it was like 3 am lmao, but I think it was in Tikawara).
  5. I like all the voices *except* the narrator. I don't think she's bad per se, or has an unpleasant voice, it's just the cadence is too weighted with pathos, and I find it extremely distracting, to the point that when she talks, it's all I can think about and in spite of hearing AND reading it, I still don't know what was said xD
  6. Uh, well I don't think it's too easy. For a start, the clicks are extremely unresponsive for me, meaning I have to click a lot of things up to 4 times, which makes it actually pretty hard as in battles, lots of stuff just doesn't activate. Other than that, I like to bumble cluelessly through games and that alone makes the first playthrough challenging.
  7. I don't know. On the one hand, why should Path of the Damned be blessed ( ), on the other, why if you can opt not to do it? I feel like this is more of an achievement thing, where some people consider it cheating and they want a badge saying they did it w/o. Also, where is there any info on this? I've seen myself getting them but have no idea what they are supposed to do.
  8. Are you far into the game? If not then it's still possible to get them to 2. Except Aloth, cuz he's bugging out on many people. Also you must do their quests. And yea, there's an option to romance Aloth, just be careful what you say to him if you don't want a break up in the ending slide. Yeah not far into the game. I've been hanging in Neketaka for 3 days now. Eder is at 1 and the other two at 2; Aloth is still at 0. I even had him at -1 and reloaded, although I prefer to not do that on my first playthroughs and just let **** happen so to speak. I don't want to end up hating him though. I seem to be in a romance with Tekehu, and it suggests I end it with every interaction - which annoys me haha.
  9. I usually play games on normal the first time, and depending upon the game go up to the hardest setting on later playthroughs. POE I had to play on the easiest setting as I had no idea at all what was going on initially, and the hardest I've played it was normal with that setting where you cannot see the aoe's (veteran I think), and I found the game kind of unbalanced because after the White March, the rest of the game was comparatively too easy, even with the scale up option on. Deadfire I'm playing on classic. I rely a lot on people who are actually good at games' guides and videos when I up difficulties xD It's true that people who talk about games tend to be the ones that pick harder settings in general, but narrative-rich games do attract a lot of people who are more into the story aspect than anything else. I'm in a dragon age group on Facebook where a poll like this would have most people picking easy or normal, with those games being less challenging than Pillars.
  10. I'm not convinced this system is actually easier to get than the old one. The grimoires seem to have a variation of spells you can learn on level up, with one or two at higher levels that are different. I feel it would make more sense if Grimoires only contained spells you cannot learn on level up, and there were less of them but each one was genuinely unique.
  11. I have 0 approval from Aloth and Eder, while Tekehu and Serafen are at 1. My character is a kindly but chaotic rogue, and I tend to play games blindly bumbling my first time, so I put it down to that. It's a bit sad considering the Watcher knew the other two already. And you can romance Aloth? I'm a bit irritated at his judgemental attitude too. He was my favourite character in 1 and considering his past, he needs ta chill
  12. In which world is that a bad thing? Don't give the developers bad habits, please! Also i find it sad that a lot of people focus on stuff like the graphics and the VA and trivial **** like - in your post - the walking toggle, instead of diving into the mechanics and what works and what doesn't work. My first impression is definitely: Obsidian tried to "biowareise" PoE and the people seem to bite. If they make a PoE 3 in the future, will i be part of the target audience then? I have to ask myself that. Anyway, like the game so far still. Can you elaborate on how it's been "biowareised"?
  13. I kind of agree about it being somewhat over dramatic, but for me it's the narrator that makes it feel like that, not the writing. That and the issue with switching out the party bug me the most so far, and being unable to kick Aloth or Eder doesn't help xD I wonder why the party was cut by 1?
  14. If you are using Steam, try disabling the Steam overlay. Thanks! This worked.
  15. I don't know if this counts as mouseclicks not registering, but I keep getting into situations where the game suddenly won't register any mouseclicks at all, and I have to kill it with the task manager and restart. It's very annoying.
