  1. I once played a game called ADOM where you slowly got corrupted and started to disintegrate if you didn't progress fast enough. I never finished it xD
  2. I also killed everyone down there cos I picked the lock of a cage with bears in, and they ran out and then everyone was red xD
  3. Now I finished the game, I feel I can comment properly. Firstly, one of the highlights was Concelhaut saying "Next time I will secure a body that lasts" when the credits start rolling. He also said Xoti had potential after she pitched a fit at Pallegina about religion on the boat. These are probably unintentional, but I found them hilarious. All in all, I loved the game and had a lot of fun. I find the combat more fun than in 1 and the AI editor is cool even if limited and bugged (setting second wind to near death made my char waste it at the beginning of every battle), though it is definitely easier than POE1 (but not as much as some people are inclined to claim), and the last boss is a complete cakewalk. I summoned everything I had expecting a horrible fight and next thing I knew, it was dead. Everything I had was quite an army, but still xD Also, even after killing it, it still says Nemnok is the toughest enemy killed *shrug*. The story didn't make much sense to me. I took over a year to catch up with a guy who told me where he was going and couldn't be missed sizewise, while sailing from one corner of the archipelago to the other multiple times. Also I don't really understand the thing about the wheel. If it was made by mortals in the first place, why would breaking it eventually destroy life? How did life exist before in that case? It seems to be more a case of the gods having artificially created some form of soul recycling in order to make themselves immortal. Either that or I didn't understand it, which is also possible. I found the reputation system strange. The thing about companions has been discussed thouroughly (still never got Aloth over 1), but my rep with the factions was also odd. After I blew up the Royal Deadfire company I got -5 approval wit them although they thought it was the Valians, but I only lost 1 with the Valians although I used them to do it for the Huana. Almost all my faction reputations were weirdly mixed. Plus, no one left my team after I sided with the Huana. I thought people left once you made that choice? Finally, I'm about to do another playthrough and want to attempt to romance Aloth, considering he compulsively disapproves of everything, can one still do it and be funny, or does one have to pick the sensible convo options all the time?
  4. No it's not. I can easily play 1 on normal even with that annoying setting that makes the aoe's invisible that I accidentally picked my last pt, but I tried 2 on PotD with some Berath's blessings and it really is a lot harder lmao. Aloth, Xoti and the character I made at the inn dropped inatantly, and mobs kept going after my main instead of Eder, I also found myself using tons of items, and downright gave up on some fights. None of that applied to my P1 playthroughs on normal. Also people forget that P1 was kind of unbalanced after the addon content. It's challenging until after you did Whitemarch 1&2, then the endgame is ridiculously easy in comparison even if you scale it up. Perhaps you're just very bad the game. Yep I'm bad at it compared to people who play on PotD. However, by your logic - i.e. that I suck at PotD in Deadifre cos I suck full stop - I'd suck MORE playing normal in P1, which I have no problems with. *shrug*

  6. I love the game, but I do have to say that the storyline makes no sense at all. Eothas would be striding across the archipelago in a couple of days, max weeks and he's in a hurry, whereas the Watcher et al spend months, even years allegedly following him, as if he'd wait. According to the game, my party has been there for well over a year now. OFC it's a pretty standard thing in rpg's that you are off doing side quests instead of pursuing your goal, but there are ways to make it make sense, like that the antagonist is off somewhere unknown preparing as are you. In Deadfire, you know where Eothas is, he even tells you, and he basically hangs around1 waiting for you to catch up. It would have made more sense to have some minion doing his bidding, or if he'd got to the Deadfire via the adra statue and then body hopped. -edited to add, having a new character might arguably have been better too, as it would explain Aloth acting like he has zero connection to you and some people's complaints about Eder being different. I haven't finished the game yet, but it seems to me there are a lot of things in the Deadfire that need explaining, like all the vampires/undead etc, which could have been part of a main quest where say the main character is investigating that and then stumbles across Eothas fanatics trying to break the wheel cos he told them to.
  7. Good example. Other good examples would be Flemeth (as mentioned) or Morrigan from DA, and there are plenty of others. I do wonder if it was the actress herself or the person telling her what to do, as it's a clear case of rather extreme overacting, with an overemphasis on trying to sound empathetic.
  8. I messed up so bad on this (my first) playthrough, so I'm definitely gonna play it again as soon as I finish.
  9. I haven't played BG yet. I died in the tutorial AND had to google how to complete it, which kind of put me off lmao. But yeah it depends how they are obnoxious. I liked Durance, although he was rude as hell xD I'm not keen on Pallegina either btw, I didn't even recruit her initially, but then picked her up after I decided Maia is dreadful .
  10. you should meet some arrogants companions from the past... Maia will look like a saint then Such as? xD
  11. Will there be any reaction from the other companions if I shoot Tekehu down after that? Not sure what you're saying xD
  12. being over confident is a bad thing? Not always, but in her I find it mega obnoxious.
  13. 1 Tekehu & Rekke - Tek I find hilarious and Rekke is intriguing, plus he barely even takes any damage. IDK if his gibberish is based on any language, but he does it really well. I wish he was a proper companion. 2 Eder - what's not to like about him? 3 Serafen. I like him, but I'm not over-excited about him and he dies a lot, so I ditched him for Rekke 4. Aloth. I loved him in 1, but he's become incredibly annoying, stuck up, judgemental and passive aggressive. The fact he's constantly groaning at jokes and taking everything too seriously while approving of annoying crap companions do doesn't help either. Took forever to get his approval to 1 and I even had it at -1 at one point, so much for forgiving him for being a lying user in POE1 and helping him sort out his issues xD He's handy though. 5. Xoti & Pallegina. Don't dislike them, don't like them either. 6. Maia - cannot stand her. She's rude and over confident. Why can't they make any female characters that are fun? Mahena was the closest, but she couldn't compete with Zahua. I haven't used the other sidekicks.
  14. Well, you can't recruit someone who "becomes" undead. I recruited one guy who I worried might turn my crew into necrophages xD
  15. I think arkemyr's shop has some items like that, but not sure if it has that. It doesn't have primal wind.
  16. LOL I might have to play Barbarian now. This never even crossed my mind; I thought if anything we could recruit someone or someone would somehow become undead xD
  17. I have to admit I'm dismayed he's not romanceable. I had no intention of romancing him personally as I play male characters (and he seems hetero to me), but I'm suprised they made him like that as he's the obvious choice in the Alistair/Cullen league from DA. I could even see fans of those types of romances buying the game just for that. *shrug*
  18. Kith Meat and Forbidden Flesh Pie both have + for corpse eaters. But when would anyone ever be a necrophage to benefit from that? What am I missing?
  19. She has disappeared for me too, also when wanting to hand in the Steel Preacher quest in Act 3.
  20. Coming back to this to add that now I've almost finished the game, only Tekehu tried to get in my pants, but beyond him going on about his past one night stands, nothing has actually happened. Other than that, I have the option to flirt with Serafen and he tells me to wing it. That's it. My watcher must be ugly xD
  21. Good idea even if I wouldn't use them. I tried the game on PotD yesterday to see if it was really "as easy as normal", as some people have claimed, and it most certainly is not lol.
