Zahua was my favourite character from POE1, really loved the guy, but indeed not as a romance option. My watcher isn't evil at all. He even tries his utmost to avoid fights. The only "bad" thing he does is lie/trick/steal to do this where applicable.

I have no idea if you had a bug or not as I never romanced her, but maybe you missed a trigger. For Tekehu, you have to go to a specific place and initiate dialogue with him in order to finish the romance. I don't think there is a quest trigger, from what I've seen, but perhaps there's something in the dialogue that has to happen with other companions first (maybe you need eder or miai in the party IDK). It's definately not as easy to trigger as miai for me, and despite her flirtations with basically everyone that exists lol, her character makes her the most relatable/likeable female IMO. It's weird because she gets this point where everything she says seems …"fond", and then nothing. I guess relationships aren't exactly the focus of the game, but was a slight disappointment for me. I might start another thread and ask what starts it for others..... If it makes you feel and better, I wasted my canon Watcher trying to romance Aloth and am closer to -1 than to +1 with hardly any of the game left, and in spite of warping his personality to please Aloth and reloading almost every time Mister Rolleye sighed through his nose, etc So now my fav Watcher is still single, just like he was in POE1 and never even got to shag a prostitute xD

Eothas is very attractive imo. While that makes me sound like a superficial idiot, it also means that Skaen being hideous is irrelevant when the best looking god is male (and as someone pointed out, Ondra is hideous too). OFC we can argue it's not really him, but the others probably don't really look like what we see either. I would find it more interesting if Berath and Wael showed male and female aspects, but it's not important enough for me to actually care. I personally don't like any of the female companions and find the male ones way more interesting/likeable. I think people like the OP (I've seen others here) have an issue with Huana culture having women as their default leaders making it a matriarchy. Correct me if I'm wrong on this, but all Huana leaders I can think of are female. This is apparently offensive to some males who invest a lot of effort in banging on about third wave feminism. However, hardcore feminists who blame flaws in society on patriarchy would have an issue with what seems to be a matriarchal society having a caste system. Hence Deadfire is pretty neutral on the gender front as far as I can tell.

I've done all the bounties AFAIK and all the ships except maybe some of the "vikings". I think there are 3 or 4 and I've done 2. Maybe you can tell me if I'm missing something major from my quest list: http://prntscr.com/jn5qci http://prntscr.com/jn5qnx http://prntscr.com/jn5qwt http://prntscr.com/jn5r8b http://prntscr.com/jn5rbk Ship http://prntscr.com/jn5rjr

Not if the choice isn't available. If you're playing a pure good (or evil) character and the game devs have decided to remove pure good or evil choices for the sake of "thinking" or reflecting "real world choices," then you've just been screwed over. The choice you made to play that character is no longer a vaild one in that game. Either you have to change your concept or quit. I'm on the side of more choices for roleplaying in roleplaying games, not less. I think their point is that there's no such thing as pure good in pratice a lot of the time. Eothas, who I think is supposed to be "good", has to cause massive devastation in order to pull his plan through. Even Thaos wasn't purely evil in the sense of doing bad things for kicks; he thought he was doing the right thing, similar to Eothas, except he was driven by the concept of Kith needing gods, even fake ones, and Eothas is driven by the idea of Kith being in control of their own fate. Ultimately, if you are trying to play an evil character, you'd pick whatever faction you think serves your personal purpose best, or kill everyone if you are a "nuke everything" type of baddy (be it to end all or get rid of anyone who's not your minion). If you want to be good, you'd pick whoever you think is best dpending upon what kind of "good" you are, or just leave them to it and do it alone. The game also provides examples of variants on a theme. So, for instance, you might be pro kith autonomy re. the gods and then decide the Huana should be controlled by Rautai because of their caste system, which might make you rethink whether your stance was really the best one / and or strengthen your opinion if you believe the Huana are wrong in this but it's up to them to change themselves, etc.

Maybe with a group, but solo you reach level 20 way earlier and then it becomes boring to do any sort of quest for xp or money you don't need anymore. I believe, Nemnok's quest alone nets 15k xp but by that time, you don't need it anymore. I killed not even all his followeres, because i did not need the money and xp. Hmm. I'm just about to do Nemnok and I now just hit 20. I have been avoiding killing people wherever possible this pt, but idk how much difference that makes xp wise if any. I seem to recall POE1 only giving xp for quests, not enemies killed but I may be confused. Simply not possible. You're missing loads of stuff somehow. It's not a matter of "faster." There is a set amount of available exp and a set amount required for 20. Do the companion quests and faction lines and you you will hit 20 without even starting the main quest. I don't have the numbers, but if I had to guess, when I finished the game I had enough for level 26-27 if not higher, and that's assuming an increasing curve. The game keeps showing that you are earning XP it just doesn't go anywhere, which is actually worse than if it just stopped showing exp, like some games do. I'm pretty sure I've done everything possible before He Waits in Fire, besides Nemnok, maybe one longboat & one remote island, a couple of quests that haven't been handed in yet and stuff related to Maia who I haven't recruited.

I sided with the Huana and no one left. As for being evil, I don't think it forces you to be evil. I mean, you are killing people all the time anyway and a lot are prolly innocent or victims of circumstance. It's not like you sit every dude down and ask for their side of the story. I think the point is to give the character the sense that although they are super duper important they don't actually have any power and if they want to do this thing, which arguably isn't that much, they have to pick someone to help them and there are no good choices. There are just a bunch of people following their own selfish goals who are unwilling to make compromises, and you will have to make a choice or not bother with any of them while realising whatever you do will have repercussions. I also don't think pirates are "worse" than others, they are just more honest and don't pretend to be helping when actually they want to colonise your country to nab the adra, grow stuff for back home and replace your culture with theirs which they consider superior.

Idk, I feel like it should be possible without cheating, especially when reading comments from people who claim it's easy, not bugged, and imply I must be playing some kind of obnoxious git Aloth cannot possibly be expected to fancy. That kind of makes me feel like I'd be forcing him. I know I'm stubborn and weird xD

Good grief, this sounds so much like me, I thought I'd written it and got really confused lmao. :D I also made a Bleak Walker / Corpse eater to see if I could get the rivalmance, and he gave me the "u 2 trad. bruh" talk on the boat like 10 min after I recruited him and I'd done nothing traditional. I'll likely ditch that character though. I was tempted to use my current one who's still @ 0 in spite of trying really hard to please the guy to get the rivalmance as all I have to do is go to the bar and have a laugh with Tek to get to -1, and -2 shouldn't be that hard after that. But if all it is is a weird angry kiss, I can't be bothered. And yeah I also don't like being pushy in those types of relationships. In Dragon Age Inquisition, you have to pretty much harass some people to get anywhere and it really doesn't fit to a lot of characters. OTOH, I haven't been suffering from the lechery some people report in Deadfire. Only Tekehu has made a pass at me (and Rekke kind of, which doesn't count).

I guess you should have, but if people really don't want spoilers regarding where to find bows, the title hints that they'll get them if they read it. *shrug* The title is fairly generic the question could literally be answered with a one word "Yes." That is true, but if one was really worried about spoilers, I think one would just not read it However, I'll edit my post.

I've completed the game seven times now (not 100%, most times it was critical path with a few sidequests), going on eight, and I always recruit Aloth. Wow and you still manage to get approval with him when I can't get it doing literally everything and carting his ass with me. xD I've almost completed my second playthrough doing everything and he's the only character that was always in the party both times lol.

Me neither, which had me dreading the Tekehu romance (though I still had to try it, of course, for science). I think it's significant that Aloth doesn't make any advances and that his romance doesn't actually start until the +/-2 conversation, not +/-1. If you want him you have to be patient, turn down the other LIs who are probably trying to get in your pants and seize the opportunity when it comes. It's an interesting dynamic. Yeah or you can spend the entire game trying to please him and still be at 0 at the end like me xD

But they actually start arguing with low enough disposition, and you have to settle the matters between them. That Xoti vs Pallegina scene that used to trigger too early (btw have they fixed it?) is one of a few. Pallegina can have a fight with Tekehu, Tekehu picks a fight with Maia (they do kinda make up later in both cases), and those are the only ones I personally know about. There might be more. It's the banter that doesn't fit the rest of their interaction. I don't think it's fixed. It happened to me instantly after recruiting Pallegina and was pretty ridiculous as a result. Also, Xoti threatens to leave but then doesn't xD
